Biography: Emanuel Bowen(fl. 1714- 67) An 18th century map and print seller, who worked in London from about 1714, producing some of the best and attractive maps of the century. A recurring feature of Bowen's work, evident even on the early road maps, was his habit of filling every corner and space of the map with jottings and footnotes, both historical and topographical. One of his earliest engraved works Britannia Depicta, published in 1720 contained over two hundred road maps together with a miniature county map of each of the counties of England and Wales. It was an unusual feature of the atlas that the maps were engraved on both sides of each page, and this resulted in a handier sized book. He also issued with John Owen a book of road maps based, as was usual at the time, on Ogilby but again incorporating his own style of historical and heraldic detail. Inspite of his royal appointments and apparent prosperity he died in poverty and his son, who carried on the business was no more fortunate and died in a Clerkenwell workhouse in 1790.

Up for bidding is a $1 token from J.B. Janes& Company. Used a t the company store at Copeland. Florida, circa 1932-40s. Description: The token is made from white meta l(nickel) And measures approximately 32mm in diameter. Florida's Vanishing Trail(2008) by James Hammond reads" Copeland was started in 1932 and named in honor of David Graham Copeland. And was the starting point of a family owned farming business. The owners J.B. Janes& Alfred Webb owned property there where they grew and cultivated tomatoes. The first building to go up was the J.B. Janes& Company Store, and Copeland eventually housed 200 families who were largely employees of the Lee Tidewater Cypress Company. Most of the people were taken to work every morning by the trains that would bring the loggers to their daily work areas. Canon FL 19mm f3.5 R Ultra Wide Angle Lens - Extra Nice!
The Canon 19mm f3.5R(R = retrofocus) is one of the lenses that helped propel Canon to prominence in the SLR field. It is amazingly sharp and contrasty with minimal vignetting for its day. This is an especially nice example in excellent+. Or better, condition. The glass is in superb, clear condition. No haze or fungus, etc. The iris works just fine and is oil-free. The lens body shows only some very minor marks on the fine edges of the sharp knurling features(see photos) The lens cap is in mint condition. The original embossed black leather case is included. A previous owner put Dymo label tape on the top that I have not attempted to remove. The foam pad in the top has been removed because it had deteriorated. 2.31" Symmetrical & Very Colorful Megalodon Gainesville, Fl Fossil Shark Tooth
This Carcharocles megalodon(Extinct Megalodon Shark) fossil shark tooth was collected from the early to middle Miocene Hawthorne Formation in Gainesville. Florida. This tooth has razor sharp pronounced serrations. An uncommon awesome orange/red color to the blade and bourlette, and a great root. It is also rather symmetrical, and has a large width to length ratio. Feeding damage to the blade and a few minor dings keep it from being World Class quality and much more exspensive. This tooth is a Bone Valley look alike. Not too surprising as this location is not far from the famous Bone Valley Formation. No repair or restoration of any kind. Just as it was when it was found.
