CSA WHITWORTH SHARPSHOOTER BULLET IN GOOD CONDITION. FOUND RESACA.GA. NEAR FARMERS BROWN`S FIELD. FOUND ON PRIVATE PROPERTY WITH PERMISSION NOT ON A NATIONAL PARK OR NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD. MISSING SOME PATINA. PRICE REFLECTS CONDITION.OVERALL NICE WHITWORTH. RARE ADDITION TO YOU BULLET COLLECTION. NICE FIRED BULLET. CIVIL WAR RELIC.BUTTON,BULLET,SHELL,BUCKLE,COIN,PLATE,COLLECTIBLES,COLLECTION. The Confederates favorite sniper weapon was the Whitworth.45 caliber rifle. An English design from the mid-1850s. Forty-nine inches in overall length, it fired a six-sided grooved bullet through a 33-inch barrel having a hexagonal bore with a rapid twist that gave phenomenal steadiness to the bullet's flight. The Whitworth was the most accurate long-range rifle of the Civil War. With an open sight and firing from a fixed rest or the prone position. ... moreThe shooter could place his shots in a twelve-inch diameter circle at 500 yards. With the 14 1/2" telescopic sight mounted on the left of the stock, the rifle had a killing range of 1500-1800 yards, or about a mile. Union general John Sedgwick, was killed at Spotsylvania when shot in the head by a bullet fired from a Whitworth rifle 800 yards distant. The Whitworth too was fired with a percussion cap. Its disadvantage was that it was a muzzle-loader. Hence slow to load, and like all muzzle-loaders, needed cleaning every few rounds. But its outstanding accuracy made it worth the trouble. It was usually issued only to top marksmen in the Confederate army corps. IF YOU NEED TO CONTACT ME PLEASE DO SO THRU EBAY MAIL AND LEAVE ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS. Civil War Dug Relics Atlanta,CARVED ACORN BULLET BATTLE KENNESAW MOUNTAIN CAMP
Carved Bullet ACPRN Carved by Sherman`s Men While in Camp in near Kennesaw Mountain. Ga. The 14th Army Corps' badge was the acorn. According to Billings. Tradition has it that some time before the adoption of this badge the members of this corps called themselves Acorn Boys. Because at one time in their history, probably when they were hemmed in at Chattanooga by Bragg, rations were so scanty that the men gladly gathered large quantities of acorns from an oak grove, near by which they were camped, and roasted and ate them, repeating this operation while the scarcity of food continued. When it became necessary to select a corps badge, the acorn suggested itself as an exceedingly appropriate emblem, and it was therefore adopted by General Orders No. 62, issued from HQ Department of the Cumberland, at Chattanooga, April 26, 1864. Many prints were made to depict camps that were part of training or garrison duty, as well as hospitals and refreshment saloons. The intended market was for the men stationed in the camp and their families at home. We find no record of an American artist named"Combe" for this period, so the credited artist might have been a talented member of the regiment whose other works were never made into prints. This image ... moreshows a Union encampment at New Bern shortly after it was taken by General Burnside. Due to its inland location, New Bern was always in danger of Confederate attacks, so a number of regiments were stationed in the area, as seen to left and right of this camp.

Civil War Re-enactors Confederate Naval Cutlas
I'm not sure what it is. I've seen it listed as a"Confederate States Naval Cutlas" Confederate Short Artillery Sword" and"Richmond Arsenal Short Sword" I think it is used by the Civil War re-enactors. The is blade is 18-7/8" long by 2" wide and the overall length is 25" The blade has never been sharped and is totally free of dings. On both side just below the handle the material inside the scabbard has tarnished or ate away the finish. Other than that the blade isn't scratched and is very shiny. The handle is cast brass with possibly(I'm guessing) some gold paint. I believe the previous owner tried to cover up a small(1/4" x 1/8" tarnish spot. The scabbard is probably plastic made to look like leather. Back side has real stitching and at both ends have brass sheet metal. Frog ... moreis leather and has"LGS" stamped on one front corner. Belt is 53-1/4" long by 1-3/4" wide and buckle is cast bronze( Back side has the hook assembly factory installed and a strong(not ready to break from over flexing) Buy with confidence. Vintage Civil War Confederate D-Guard Bowie Knife - Perfect Reenactor Item
Vintage Civil War Confederate D-Guard Bowie Knife- Perfect Reenactor Item Description: Confederate D-Guard Bowie Great profile on this large bowie knife. Having shown it to several people specializing in blades. I was unable to get a 100 percent consistent opinion on age, and as such am listing this as a vintage piece, and though it certain looks period. It's likely constructed out of parts, etc. Please take a moment to click on the images for enlarged details of construction and condition. You'll see the D-Guard has pitting to it. And even a hole in it, likely from it just being formed out of a piece of old metal. Nice wooden handle. This would be a GREAT item for a reenactor as it IS hand forged. Handmade, and looks just like a piece a confederate soldier would have carried. Up for a week with NO reserve!

US M-1850 Union Field Officer's Sword, Civil War Swords
US M New Page 1 US M-1850 STAFF& FIELD OFFICER'S SWORD IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR ACCURATE MODELS OF CIVIL WAR SWORDS- THESE ARE THE ONES YOU WANT! The M-1850 Staff& Field Officer's sword was the sword of choice for Union Officers during the Civil War. This high quality replica has been produced in a manner similar to the original and the result is a appearance that is faithful and even a little time worn! The M-1850 has an ornately detailed semi-basked guard with"US" cast into it. Blade is elaborately engraved with different designs on each side. Steel scabbard is finished in black lacquer with brass hanger rings and drag fitting. This sword is PERFECT for re-enactment and stage use! Product Specs: Some common questions I have gotten about these swords have been about the presence of the manufacturing country's ... moremarkings on the blades. And the way the handle is secured. Country markings are very small and discreet(sometimes only included on a separate cardboard tag) and do NOT detract from the appearance of the sword in any way! From what I know- the country markings are required for customs purposes. Thankfully. They made sure to keep them small so the swords retain their accurate looks! The handle construction is well done! The blade and rat tail are one piece(NO WELDS) and the butt end is hammered flush with the D guard cap. I took one of these apart to see exactly how it went together- it was very hard to do! Overall length- 40" Blade length- 33" Blade material- Carbon steel. Can be sharpened. Handle- Brass finished semi basket guard with. Hardwood grip, leather and wire wrapped. One piece rat tail(NO WELDS! and hammered butt cap. Scabbard- Black lacquer with brass rings and drag.
