The atlas was published in a very limited context to be distributed to government officials in the three houses of government as a reference for assessing the Civil War. This is from the original first publishing, that lasted from 1891-5. In general, these maps are very detailed showing lines of approach, battle formations, forts, batteries, dates, various armies and officers involved, topography down to houses in many cases and other details and historical notes. The Union lines are in blue and the Confederate in Red. A very beautiful map that will frame up nicely! Size: The map image measures 16 by 27 inches on a page measuring approximately 18 by 29 inches with plenty of margin all around for framing. It is a full double page sheet as issued. Condition: The map is in Very Good condition with overall light tonal aging. It has lithograph color. Blank on the reverse with a centerfold as issued. There is some darkening along the edge, otherwise the the map is very clean with no distracting defects to mention.

Doctor tended him twice a day, so much better went to barber's today and got sheared, doc says I must not go to camp for two weeks, Cornelius will leaving nothing undone, men like and respect him, they are hard at work on fortifications and drill is suspended, make us work instead of fight, talks in some detail about a boy(negro undoubtedly) who tended to him every day, when I come home, he will come with me, more on children being used by this officer, his name is Wm. Casey, mentions three soldiers, Bosden MOrris, Dwwit Newing, and Britten Wolley(all with the 29th New Jersey) another one James Maps is with the 1st New Jersey Cavalry, mentions ... morealso John B. Wolcott of the 29th New Jersey who died of disease at Tennallytown Maryland; mentions Con Monford but unable to find listing for him, kind of a humerous quip at end about the Old Maid, have they sent her to the asylum or does she still run at large. Made by the esteemed Bates and Klinke firm. Right here in the USA, this is a superbly crafted miniature pewter replica of the Siege Museum in Petersburg. The museum, which portrays civil war era life at the time of the Civil War, is located in the historic Exchange Building. This is a replica of that building, complete with its Jeffersonesque dome on top. This piece was made in very small numbers and this example is in superb like new condition. It is 1.75" tall and the base footprint is 3 by 2" Reads SIEGE MUSEUM on one edge and PETERSBURG VA on another. Bates and Klinke markings under one edge. Super rare and beautiful souvenir building. NY Notice how the lyrics are very similar to the famous Easter Hymn by Charles Wesley. Both songs used a 14th century Latin text(translated into English by Lyra Davidica in 1708) Charles Wesley then added more of his own lyrics. Along with the ALLELUIAs- turning the song into the famous Easter song we know today. So while the words may be somewhat familiar- the tune is different- composed by W. C. Williams. Pre-Civil War Music- published in 1857. The Sheet Music is in a protective sleeve with cardboard backing and is shipped out as such. None of the music has been trimmed. The images are either taken by a digital camera or a scanner. The scanner images might not show all of the edges because of the size limitation of the scanner. But the sheet music is fully intact with no trimmed edges. I have an unbelievably large collection of sheet music to sell- thousands and thousands. This is made to fit a full length Springfield Rifle or Enfield Rifle and it is in mint condition. It is the type of canvas case they used back in the Civil War and it makes a good way to store a Civil War musket.

History. The“Duster” was a full length coatdesigned to protect a travelers clothing from dust. A popular itemwith cattlemen on cow drives. The duster was also used by anyonetraveling on horseback along the early trails and dirt roads of theAmerican West. Such coats were slit up to the wearers back toaccommodate the horse, and sometimes incorporated large pockets androll down cuffs. Falling or standing collars were seen as well. Earlydusters, inspired by clothing used by coach drivers, sometimes hadone or more capes to protect the shoulders and back from rain. Later,dusters were used in the early 20 th Century by many crosscountry motorists for the same reasons 19 th Centuryhorsemen found the coat useful. Dusters were made in linen. Cotton,and sometimes leather, and many were made water proof with theaddition of paints, tars or oils. Dusters in white, tans, browns and light grays were popularduring the later half of the 19 th Century. Most fastenedwith buttons. However snaps and zippers began to be used in the 20 th Century. I made it for my dad some 10 years ago back when he was stilldoing 1880 town shoot'em ups! However, with the South Dakota summershitting 90 plus on some weekends, this item was worn only forspecific shows, and was not as“used” as his vests and shirts.The duster has been washed and dried in a modern dryer however, andsurvived! The cut of this duster is early instyle. And resembles the cut of the winter great coats and coach manscoats used in the 1850s and 60s.
