This auction is for a very rare old woodrail. I bought it just for a machine to fix up. not really knowing what it was. After some searching. I found the'majors of 49' machine on the database. Everyone i asked believed it had to have been someone's custom work or some sort of forgery, but after alot more searching i came across a 1949 billboard magazine with the original ad for the game before it was released. The ad described the game and stated that they would supply"majors 50" backglasses to operators who wanted to bring the game's name up to date for the 1950 season. So far, this is the only one that's popped up. The machine is in pretty good shape for being 63 years old. There has been quite a bit of work done to get it to this condition. It does work. And it still takes nickels to start a game. It could ... morestill use minor work to get it further towards being it's best. There are two flippers up towards the middle of the playfield on either side, at the bottom there are two slings that fire with the flipper button. There are SUPPOSED to be little plastic baseball bats on them. I haven't had time to make any for it. The rear light board behind the backglass was warped and rubbed paint off the sides of the backglass. I restraightened and repaired the light board, as well as alot of touch up work on the backglass down the sides and at the bottom. LUCKILY. the baseball's screening with"majors 50" in it was completely intact. This game came out when the bingo games and payout machines were popular. Near the catchers face. there's a little window and a credit wheel behind it. The only thing is. it isn't a credit window because there's no start button on these. There is a button under the machine to clear this credit wheel. The only purpose i can think they had for this was gambling back in the day. As you can see in the last picture. i have all but one of the original bumper caps. I bought new ones. But they'll need the'home run' artwork adde

1934 Chicago World's Fair Century of Progress Firestone Tire Ash Tray
A very cool ash tray from one of the 1934 Chicago Worlds Fairs. Measures about 1 3/4" maximum height and about 5 ½ inches diameter. The amber glass insert is about 3 3/8 inches side to side. And 4 3/8 inches across the cigarette holder. It is in good condition overall. Tire is still supple with crisp details. There is some discoloration that shows in the last 4 pictures on one side of the tire. It appears to be in the rubber, not on the rubber. The ashtray glass is good with no chips or scratches. Check all the pictures to assess condition. If there is anything you want to know feel free to ask questions. Sold as is. I only ship within the USA and use USPS Priority mail. I don't think this railroad exists, so this certificate is a financial collectible and represents no ownership in the company. It is 11 1/2 inches wide and 8 inches tall, great to frame for a train and hobby room. I guarantee it is original issue and in really nice shape for someone from the 19th Century. Edgewater Beach Hotel. Chicago- Vintage CANCO Tin This very rare 1916-1920’s era 6.25” long. By 4” wide, by 2.75” deep trinket box was made for the famous Edgewater Beach Hotel that was located in Chicago, Illinois. Any items from the Edgewater are rare, but this particular tin is a very seldom seen piece of vintage hotel artifacts. This lidded box depicts a scene of the Edgewater Beach Hotel on the front. Edged in green with gold gilt designs all around. The print seems to have been stamped somewhat off-center. The lid is particularly rare. As it is domed on the top, with two pieces of pressed steel crimped together to make one piece(as pictured) inside the lid, so as to make the lip 3-dimensional, as opposed to concave. Please view all the pictures to get the full visual description. The fold on one corner is slightly separated due to age(as ... morepictured) but has no bearing on the appearance or usage of the box. There are no major dents, but there is what appears to be some slight rippling or'wave' in the metal itself. There is also what appears to be a slight stain on the upper left hand side of the lid(as pictured) The box has a green alligator-like print all around. It has the usual signs of wear& tear from usage(as pictured) Including a few minor scratches, but is in overall good condition. The inside of the box has the patina of an item this old, and some slight staining- which could probably be easily removed if the buyer chooses. The sign is soldered to the flange. Really nice used condition, the color is bright and the enamel losses are confined to the periphery of the sign. It is 26 7/8" long including the flange and the body of the sign is 5 3/4" wide, the flange is 8 1/2" wide. It weighs five pounds unpacked.
