Chicago's World's Fair 1934 Cocktail Martini Shaker w/ Drink Recipes
1934 World's Fair Chicago Martini Shaker Your bidding on the item shown in the pictures. The shaker is about 11" tall with the top on. 4" diameter at the top with the cap off, and about 2 5/8" at the bottom. It has multiple drink recipes engraved on the side. All the recipes are clearly visible. The shaker is obviously used and shows signs of uses. Considering the age of the item I would say its in good condition. It does have some tiny nicks here and there and a couple small dings on the bottom( probably from being dropped) I tried to show them the best I could in the pictures. It could use a cleaning/ or polishing. This has not been polished and is being sold in its original found condition. Please do not expect this to be a museum piece. 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair Franklin D Roosevelt Bust Cane Top Copper
It is time for us to downsize and sell some of ourcollectibles and other items. We have somuch that we are going to start the bidding at very low prices. We have beencollecting for over 50 years. Up for auction is a bust of President Franklin D Roosevelt. This did not start out as a bust but originally was the top of a cane that you could get at the Chicago World's Fair in 1933- 1934. Unfortunately I don't have the wood cane part. It is copper but I don't believe it is solid copper. It is probably steel or cast iron with copper plating. I don't want to cut or file into it to see exactly what it is made of. It is marked on the front"ROOSEVELT" and on the back it is marked"CENTURY ... moreOF PROGRESS" It is in great condition with little wear. Please look closely at the pictures. LF01 Offered is an approximately 3-1/2"x5-1/2" real photo postcard of Mark Mauldin. Pictured in his Chicago White Sox uniform circa 1934. The original photo was taken by George Burke in 1934, but this card was produced some time later(no earlier than the 1950's judging by the standard Kodak back) Comes from a large collection of such postcards, all having standard postcard backs but being postally unused. The vast majority of cards in this collection rate NM to NM-MT condition, but please see scans of the actual card for further details including condition. Marshall Reese Mauldin was born in Atlanta. GA and died in 1990 in Union City, GA. He played major league baseball for a single season in 1934 as 3rd baseman for the Chicago White Sox. A case of mistaken identity made by the Chicago Cubs resulted in George Burke becoming ... morethe official photographer for the Chicago Cubs. In 1929. Cubs manager Joe McCarthy and Gabby Hartnett sought out the ballclub's previous photographer. They could only remember his last name, Burke, so they looked him up in the phone book. Thus began the baseball photography career of George Burke, who had no prior sports experience whatsoever, and thus ended the career of photographer Francis Burke- the Cubs' time-honored official cameraman and an unwitting victim of mistaken identity. Let alone 8 consecutive of Buster Brown. The pages are very brittle and do have tears here and there. And should be handled with extreme care. I have already handled them too often. The best idea is to have them framed. They would look tremendous hanging on the wall. You could easily repair the small tears from the oposite side. Most of these are on the borders.
