I don't think they make re-enforcement circles that big. None of the damages interfere with the graphics or the maps. Great piece of history. An attractive general map of the country on heavy paper. Published in the International Atlas and Geography. Scale 20 miles to the inch. A nice feature of this atlas is that the maps were individually bound along their long edge. Resulting in large maps without a centrefold. This map measures approx 30cm x 40cm excluding margins. Condition is very good. A strong impression that remains clean and bright with attractive printed colour. One or two specks and marks but very minor. The margins are lightly toned with some minor spotting and the right margin is creased and a bit raggedy where originally bound. Verso completely blank and clean; a few foxing spots. Condition: It is in Good condition for its age with light tonal ageing with a centerfold as issued. It is basically as seen in the pic. The centerfold has been repaired. So the map can no longer be folded. There is a repaired tear at the bottom near the centerfold. There is some darkening and spotting in the margins, otherwise the map image is very clean and would frame up nicely. See the pic of the actual map for a better idea of the actual condition. An original antique map from Cassell's Atlas. This item: Scotland Southern Section Provenance Cassell's Atlas Containing a Complete Series of Maps of the World. Etc. Edited by. Publisher London: Cassell and Company Ltd. 1909-1910. This is the original 99 year-old map. We do not sell reproductions of any kind. Size/ Format In millimetres(and inches) Sheet: 364 x 262(14¼" x 10 ¼" Margins range from 14mm- 26mm(½" 1" The maps are all printed on one integral sheet with a fold in the center. This fold becomes nearly invisible when the map is laid flat. If the map is framed. The fold becomes completely invisible unless inspected very closely. Condition The maps are in very good condition. The colors are bright and there is almost no age-toning. There is an occasional spot or unobtrusive mark in the margins ... moreof a few of the maps. The scanned images are un-edited(except for size) and are of the actual map you will receive. I've noticed that some of the scans look a little blurry or grainy. This is caused by clumsy scanner settings. The maps are very clear with crisp text.
