Most of the time any edge splits are short. Minor, insignificant and have been closed- either long ago or more recently with small pieces of archival tape. Most often these splits are trivial and easy to overlook visually. Basically, they would not significantly affect the piece adversely. The item is offered as seen. Please look carefully and make your decision knowing this antique image is nice. But it is not in perfect"like new" condition. Printed on quality paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness. In near VG or better condition. Mostly clean and attractive, minor light surface age wear[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws] The printed area remains visually pleasing. Chicago and New York, 1924, 16 mo.4" x 6 1/2" 47 pages of text giving latest official census. Air service landing fields, post offices, counties. County seats, railroads and electric lines including six pages of advertisements. Soft boards. The map is 28" x 21. folded down to 3 1/2" x 6. It is double faced. The front map is a standard map of Arkansas with 56 different railroads on it. It is light orange and black with dark orange and red accents. It also shows the steamship lines. The map on the reverse is the main highway map of Arkansas and also includes principle trails of Arkansas. It is white with grey county and city markings and lettering and the highways are heavy dark green and are identified ... morewith matching green numbers within green circles. The map has been repaired on the back with transparent medical tape. The booklet has a new spine cover and both interior end papers have been newly secured. Both the booklet and the maps are good and a tremendous 89 year-old piece of history of the state of Arkansas. A great gift for a history buff.
