The Calendar June 1903 An Amateur Journal Devoted to Amateur Journalism and the National Amateur Press Association Published in Palo Alto. California, by Denison Halley Clift. Size: Approximately 5" x 7" Vol. 1. No 4 Approximately 19 pages of a series. Contains one photo of Stanford Memorial Arch and church with spire on the opening page. The spire was later destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. The front and back covers are made of heavier paper stock. Beautifully illustrated front cover in dark red and blue show two women in period dresses. Hats, and Gibson Girl hair styles. This 110-year-old pamphlet is extremely rare. I have never seen another one like it. This contains booklet has several short stories. A poem, and discussions about conventions. The first short story is entitled"A Mission Garden. and is set at Mission Santa ... moreBarbara. The following story is entitled"A Son of a Nomad" And takes place in San Francisco. The following streets are mentioned in the story: Turk Street. Golden Gate Avenue, Mission St, and Broadway. The publisher Denison Clift(1885-1961) was born in the San Francisco Bay Area. And attended Stanford University. He was a successful Broadway play writer, screen writer, and movie director. His films starred actors such as Béla Lugosi. Condition: Very fine with no writing. All pages intact. Bright colors on front page. The left and right lower margins of the front cover have slightly toned and have a couple of tiny nicks on the right side. I am mentioning this only to be absolutely thorough in my listing. Overall. I feel that this is in very nice condition for a pamphlet this age. It is amazing that a small pamphlet like this has managed to survive 110 years. Antique M.J.B. Co's Aladdin Coffee 2lb Tin Can With Handle San Francisco Here is a really nice vintage coffee can made for M.J.B Co's MJB stands for Max James Brandenstein. The company was started in 1881 in San Francisco California. This tin is 7" inches tall. And about 6" inches wide including the handle. The tin is in pretty good condition to my eye. Has a few little scrapes and dings the biggest is down on the bottom rim. I have included a photo for you to see. Outside of that it looks in pretty good condition for its age. This is a very interesting vase type thing. I picked it up at an estate sale in San Francisco from an older lady that was selling some other items I was there for. I have a friend that lives in the city and gives me a heads up when a yard sale or estate sale is coming up where the seller is selling vintage vinyl records or vintage concert posters and handbills of bay area bands from the late 60's. I was there for some old posters(see framed poster in the backdrop of some of the photos for a Country Joe and the Fish concert from the Avalon Ballroom) I contacted the lady and asked if I could see the stuff on a Friday(day before estate sale) and look at what she had since I was going to be close to the city on business. She said I could and so I stopped in on Friday afternoon. I found some great posters and then noticed she had some old ... morerobes and some other interesting stuff that looked like maybe Freemason or Odd Fellows. I asked about it and she gave me a wry smile saying it was from neither of those groups but from a much darker group based in San Francisco. She said these things had belonged to Anton LaVey. I knew who he was and was immediately interested. She explained her personal relationship with the man and his group but said it was a thing of the past. I was surprised to see she wanted to sell these items. She said she had been holding on to most of these items since the late 60's and early 70's. She went on to explain she was in dire need for money and was thinning out her stuff to a minimalist amount. I asked her about several of the LaVey items that seemed interesting to me and she gave me reasonable prices. I bought the vase in the photos(this auction) A wolf face hook(that was for hanging ceremonial robes, an owl incense burner and a lamp(all on ebay now) I kept several books that I may sell at some point. Western San Francisco Applied Top ANTIQUE Whiskey Bottle HUGE, CRUDE TOP
BEAUTIFUL applied top 1880s JH Cutter whiskey bottle from the old west. HUGE TOP WITH LOTS OF CRUDITY. Lots of interesting swirls an imperfections. Bubbles, etc in the glass all throughout the bottle. Neck is shorter than most 5ths- it looks like this was the first bottle blown the morning after a long night of drinking- the glassblower made a huge, weird top with jagged edges of glass sticking from it and put it lower down on the neck, after making a mistake on the first try probably. Small thing right below the top that doesn't go all the way through the glass- looks like an annealing check. Definitely in the making. A non-issue mentioned only for accuracy. There is weird crudity everywhere in this thing! Overall. One of the coolest examples of these bottles I've seen

No date, but gift inscription dated 1890 on last page. Today. Sutro Heights is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and is located just near the Golden Gate Bridge. The site was developed by San Francisco's first Jewish mayor, the populist Adolph Sutro(1830-1898) and subsequently opened by Sutro to the public. Popular public baths were opened on the grounds in 1896. This book contains 24 photo-lithograph panels. Including a double-page plan of the Heights. Views fold out accordion-style. Harrison Fisher was a famous Illustrator of his time. And is included in the National Museum of American Illustration, where his biography and images ... moreof his work can be accessed online. At the time of his death in 1934. A relative kept a few of his paintings, and burned the remaining works in Harrison's possession(over 900) per Fisher's request. So in some instances. It may be possible that these copies are the only remains of his work, aside from contemporary prints. This cover has a beautiful illustration by an iconic Illustrator. Successor to C.D. Gibson, known as"The Father of a Thousand Girls" The American Girl) dated 1913. On the opposite side is the Table of Contents of the Magazine. This antique bullion ingot is part of my father's small coin collection given to me for safekeeping prior to his passing in 1990. I have to downsize myself now and will be selling items as time permits. This bullion is a rare item. I have not found it in books that I have but there was a similar one selling on Ebay last fall for about $2.500 as a Buy It Now. Because of internet issues and possible power outages which could cause the auction to end without bids, I am adding a reserve to this item, and the other one I have listed. The reserves are $500. If that is too much I am sure I will find out at the end of the auction. The eagle stamp is imprinted Mint of the United States San Francisco. The upper left words of the imprint are missing. Size of the bar is 1-1/4 inches by 2 inches by 1/4 inch thick approximately. VINTAGE ANTIQUE USN USS SAN FRANCISCO WALL HANGER-ULTRA RARE??
I have a USN USS San Francisco wall hanger up for sale. It appears to be made of brass with a picture of the ship in the middle. It has a glass cover. Plus the picture has a shiny appearance in the water, almost like holographic. It measures about sixe& a half inches across& the inner picture's about three inches. I think that this is antique because on the back it says, Warranted Triple Plate, Pat. Dec. 27, 92. I think that the date's 1892 for the way it's stated, I haven't seen any 20th. Century items with a similar mark. In any case. I believe that this could be a rare item& to be honest, I purchased it at a second hand store for $10.00 and that's the starting bid. I think it's a fair price for a unique item as this.

Measures 21" by 31 1/2" and is in excellent condition on sturdy paper. It is a US Coast Survey map and apparently predates Golden Gate Park or any houses in the entire western 1/2 of the city. This is a vintage 1968 Limited Edition#174/500 reproduction of a pre-Gold Rush map of Yerba Buena. The original name for San Francisco. It in in color and shows the waterfront with boats and a very few streets and buildings. The paper is heavy and sturdy and the map has no tears. It has very wide borders on the right and left and the left border has spots. Perhaps fingerprints? so it is in very good condition. On the back in pencil it says this is a lithograph. These high capacity hydrants were installed 3 years after the great quake in 1909 in response to the City's failed fire water system during the quake. There are many still in use today all over San Francisco. They are color coded to denote where the water supply comes from. Formerly hydrant#552. This one was fed by the Jones Street Tank atop Knob Hill. Red tops are fed by the Ashbury Tank and black tops are fed by the Twin Peaks Resevoir. Makes a great statement piece in any location. Antique 1909 Porcelain Souvenir Pin Tray - Palace Hotel San Francisco California
Wonderful tray made to commemorate the opening of the"New" Palace Hotel on Dec 16. 1909. This has no damage, no chips, cracks or crazing. The gold trim is excellent and the surface has no scratching. The original Palace was destroyed by fire following the April 18, 1906 earthquake. To see the history of this item(and the item itself) view the The Palace Hotel.Org website. Measures 3 1/4" x 6 1/2" Very interesting item for your collection. After reviewing my listing I notice that my original photo looks somewhat washed out. The design on the pin tray is much more crisp than shown in photo#1.
