One of the lamp holders has a chip of wood missing. I do not know exactly how old it is, but I believe it is a turn of the century piece or possibly older. Around the edges there a cartouches depicting The Festival Hall, The Cliff House, Mission Dolores, The California State Building, The Machinery Hall, and the Tower of Jewels. Harold Longmire born 1911 San Francisco Ca. Restoration. Trunk had wood rot on bottom. Only the bottom had to be replaced as it was falling apart. The trunk was cleaned with a little water and cloth. Very Old wood double sided street sign. Acquired at the Alamany Flea Market. Just off U.S. Hwy. 101, San Francisco. The gentleman selling the sign was in his 80's and was a retired firefighter in the Mission District. It was in his old house when he purchased it 40 years ago. I researched an old San Francisco street map from 1905- pre 1906 earthquake- and found the two streets- UNION& WALNUT( Near the old Laurel Cemetery and within the South portion of the Presidio Reservation. There appears to be symbols on the map indicating that UNION& WALNUT intersected at a location where the Cable Car, Electric Car or Steam Car traveled. Wood signs have raised lettering. I have not even tried to clean signs- AS FOUND- UNION STREET Measures 17 inches by 4 1/2 inches- WALNUT STREET Measures 22 inches by 4 1/2 inches. Mexican Antique Retablo Canvas Painting - San Francisco
Beautiful antique painting of San Francisco de Paula; Mexican 19th/ early 20th century. A great and large piece. 12 x 18 inches image area and 16 x 22 overall with frame. As with other pieces from this recently acquired collection. The painting appears to have been profesionally re-stretched and re-framed sometime in the 1960's- and well done. The canvas is very tight. On the verso you can see where gauze was applied to stabilize the canvas. In a couple of spots the muslin appears to have been applied to fix pinholes. Red and Blue design on white depict eagle with a banner above and carrying a shield. The States” is written on the banner. USR Co. which stands for the United States Restaurant Company, is written on the shield. An old sticker on the bottom has handwritten“CA(circa) 1896” on it. In good condition with no cracks or chips. There is a bit of roughness around the rim of saucer. Where perhaps the glaze didn’t cover completely, light spot of discoloration in the center- very faint, and some light crazing on bottom of cup. The map is a double page of continuous paper with a binding strip on the back for insertion in the hard bound book and measures paper size 14 ½” by 22 ¼” with a 13 ½” by 20 ¼” image. The top edge of the map includes Fort Point and the map extends to the West End Syndicate and Bay Park Homestead. It includes Golden Gate Park. Rancho Laguna, Ingleside Race Track and University Mound. There are two small tears. One on the bottom fold and one about an inch to the right, with small folds at two upper corners not affecting the image. The back of the double truck is printed with the maps of Seattle and Dallas. It is marked"property of the Clifton Cafeteria San Francisco" on the bottom. The patina is original. The name of the cafeteria. Clinton" is inscribed on the side of the bowl. Small ding on the letter"t" They have hallmarks of a ship, anchor and the letters"E" P" on the bottom. I have included a picture of the historic cafeteria in the listing for you to print and put with your piece. It has the serial number 012530 on the bottom. The patina is original. Weight is 5.8 oz. This piece was picked at an antique store going out of business. I know what I paid and this piece will be a steal at 5 times the starting bid.

Antique Frame with Raised Gesso & Original Watercolor San Francisco
A beautiful old picture frame. Size is 19" by 21" and 5" deep at the corners and 3 1/2" deep at sides. I believe is it pine wood. The opening measures 14!2" by 12 1/2" I put this original watercolor painting by Le Goullon in it, titled" San Francisco. There is no glass. There is a newer cut wood backing on it. The red with black undertones on the gesso frame is striking.
