Centerville, Slate Hill, Mills District, Caskey District, New Hampton, Denton, Ridgebery, Mead District, Stewart Town, Lower Road District, and Gardnerville. The map shows the roads and streets, railroad routes and other details. This is an antique map saved from the original survey book by F. W. Beers, published by Andreas Baskin& Burr of Chicago, Illinois. This is not reproduction, but the actual map. The handcoloring on the map is original, and the map is printed on thick paper, with nothing on the reverse. The paper is lightly tanned from age. These maps can be very valuable to land title offices, museums, people who currently own property in the area, schools, offices, and anyone who wants ... moreto preserve a piece of history. I have tried with the 12 pictures available, to show the condition of this book as best I can. Please advise if you have questions. Antique book: Miller's New York as it is. Or Stranger's Guide-Book to the cities of New York, Brooklyn. This book published by James Miller in 1867; entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1866 by James Miller. This hardcover book contains maps and numerous illustrations(pictures show examples) In the front and back of the book are several old advertisement. For examples: Steinway& Sons'pianos) Phenix Insurance Company; United States Life Insurance Co; Tiffany&Co. to name a few. Contains two maps: ... more1. map of the Hudson River(this map is attached) 2. New York City map with Brooklyn street and avenue quide(this map has become detached from the book and has some tears in the folds. Is complete except for the top left corner that remains attached to the book) Cover has slight wear at corners. Back cover has some wrinkles in the cloth where it appears it has come ungluded from the hard cover material; could have got some water on the back cover as is small stain at top of the inside of back cover(Carter, Kirtland& Co. and a few pages prior. Shortly into the white page advertisements it is not longer noticeable. The first page of yellow advertisement(a new piano) has a tear in it. I examined(very carefully) all the white pages from the contents page to the end of the book. Including the illustrations. I find all the pages and illustration to be in very good condition(other than the few mentioned avove) none are missing, all are bound very good. Book measures: 6" x 4" 3/4" thick. Not a modern reproduction. It is a beautiful large format and very rare 1857 printing of Valentine's map. State of New York and the Territories Depending Thereon" To His Excellency George Clinton Esq) The map shows lower Manhattan. Which was primarily agrarian at the time, with American and British fortifications. The"Reference" section at the lower right lists important landmarks, including Fort George, important churches, the Jewish Synagogue, the Theatre, and the House of Correction. This gorgeous and extraordinary map was printed 72 years after John Hills' hand-drawn map of 1785. Shortly after the American Revolution, ... moreand was presented by John Lozier Esq. to the Corporation of the City of New York. Magnificently hand-colored. Originally issued folding. Fold separations have been fully and expertly repaired with archival tape. Non-archival tape residue remains along left and right margins as shown. Entering image by 1/2” on left, and 1/4 th inch on right. And along bottom margin at left-most corner entering 1/4 th inch into image. And lower rightmost corner not entering image. Small chip missing from upper right corner approaching but not encroaching image. Overall moderately toned, giving the map a pleasantly aged appearance. Strong impression, on thin but good quality paper. Overall condition is very good. A spectacular gift! Full hand color

Up for auction is one of Mitchell's single-page New York City maps. Which focuses on old Manhattan, c. 1860 to 1867 and hand colored. This map has been professionally matted and framed and covered with glass, ready to accent any office or den. The frame has some scratches but nothing too serious. Inside of the matte measures 11 3/8" W x 13 1/2" H and the overall size of the frame is 20 1/2" W x 22 1/2" H. This is the perfect gift for any professional working in NYC or anyone who is from NYC and appreciates maps and/or antiques. These are very hard to come by and very rare. Large Old Antique 1903 Map Flooded Area of Buffalo New York City Streets
Up for your consideration is a large(4.5' by 3' folded map titled"Flooded Area of the City of Buffalo. New York" prepared by The Bureau of Engineering- C. M Morse 1902 and furnished to the NY State Water Storage Commission. It has a key showing the flooded districts in 1894& 1902. This map is one of about 20 large maps found in the book"Documents of the Senate of the State of New York, 1926th Session- 1903- Volume X No. 37- MAPS" The map has about 15 small(about 1/2" tears where some of the creases cross. There are a few areas of browning/foxing along the backside of some of these creases. Overall, though a nice large partial city map of turn of the century City of Buffalo, NY.

1888 Detailed Genuine Antique Color Map of New York City, from Gaskell's Atlas
This offering features a very nice single-page. Highly-detailed, multi-color map of New York City(Southern Part) The map was rescued from Gaskell's Atlas of the World, published in 1888, which was in unsalvageable condition. The last two photos validate the origin of the map and its publishing date. This map shows Manhattan from the Battery north to 61st street. Also. The map shows the Brooklyn Bridge(called the"suspension" bridge on the map) which was completed only a few years before the publishing of this map. Also, the map illustrates elevated railroads, horse" roads, and"steam" roads in addition to regular streets. Ferry lines to and from the city are also shown, as well as specific steam ship lines. Parts of Jersey City, Brooklyn, and Long Island City are also a part of this map. All the streets and avenues ... morein this southern section of Manhattan are identified as they were named in 1888, plus the major hotels, churches, and theaters are shown and cross referenced in the right margin. This NYC map has a total page size of 10-1/2" wide x 13-1/2" long. And an image size of 8-5/8" wide x 11-1/8" long, plus additional width to accommodate references in the right margin. The map's condition is excellent, with no holes or tears in the image, and a very small tear in the margin. There is a small dog-ear in one corner of the paper and some light soiling in the margin. The paper condition is good with minimal yellowing. The colors are clear and crisp with very little fading(see photos) This map will be carefully wrapped.
