2 Rare Antique Pratt& Whitney Lathe books/booklets From 1907& 1911 Hartford.Conn.Both have thick paper covers. The inside pages of both look real nice.I dont see any folds or tears of the pages.Page lettering(07) may look a little faded pictures look very strong still dark. The 1907 book has a bad outside binding both front& back covers are un-attached.Missing some material also. The 1911 Turret Lathes book has small damage on the bottom edge of binding peeled off and ripped about 2"s long. Both have wear.Soft corners/edges 07 has a small bite looking mark goes in about 12 pages about 5/8"th in size. Both have a green sticker attached to the front covers them. I didnt try and remove for fear of causing damage. Both show signs of use and wear mostly just the outside covers.

Up for bid is the lot of 2 Very Rare. ANTIQUE CIVIL WAR BOOKS, as seen in the pictures/ as described in the title. Volume I is in poor-to- acceptable condition with an extremely fragile front cover, spine and with many detached pages(all look to be present tho) Volume II is in G- to Good condition. Spine, while cosmetically blemished, remains quite strong. NO pages detached. Medium fragile. Cosmetic condition is as clearly and accurately shown in the pictures. Please inspect all of them carefully and ask questions as needed. Each book measures 12-1/2" wide x 17" tall x 1-1/4" thick. Vol. I has 474 numbered pages and Vol. II. 444 numbered pages. Total weight is 17 lbs 5.0 oz. Please feel free to ask questions and/or request additional photographs. I will respond in a timely manner. Two Antique Handwritten Pen and Ink Books Journals Dated 1814 and 1818 English
One book is 9" by 7 1/2" The other is 9 1/2" by 7 1/2" The plain brown book has" Miscellaneous Extracts" on the inside cover dated 1818. This one has the water stains. Both have outside cover paper loss due to some type of"nibbling" over the years. It is 1 1/8" thick. The thinner book has a hand painted design on the front and back cover. It only has one page(the last page that is the Index) that has a piece missing. The second is A System of Medicine- Circulatory System- by Ossler and McRae. These will be great on the shelf of any medical professional or antique book collector. These books are in good condition considering their age. The first book has some water stain/discoloration in the upper right hand corner for roughly the first 85 pages. The cover boards are a bit worn, the spines also. There is a split along the spine on one book(see image) In spite of these flaws, the pages are easily legible, off-white with dark print, and all pages appear to be intact. The other is a"Merry Christmas" type diecut cards, with a name on the back(Laura Perso) The little Friendship's Tie book was published by the Art Lightgraphic Publishing Co. of England, and is filled with old poems/mottos regarding friendship. Lot of Antique Sewing needle books and wooden needle container
I found these in a box I bought at an auction today and was hoping someone could use these for a collection. The wooden needle container is an EMPTY container made by"The Boye Needle Co. Chicago" It is stamped 16 30-80 on the top. I did a little research on these and the ones I saw online all had date stamped on it(usually 1909) This one does not have a date stamped on it for some reason. The embroidery"Gold Eye" needles are"Royal Neighbors of America. Rock Island, Ill. All of the needles are present. I am having a lot of trouble finding any additional information about these needles online. On the backside, there is spot where it appears to have been glued, perhaps to a display stand. It also says"West Germany" on the bottom, front flap. The last package of needles are"Harper's 15" needles. ... moreOn the back it says. Thomas Harper& Sons, Best Quality. I am including a picture of the needles that are on the inside. It is apparent to me that there are nearly 20 used needles inside. If you look closely at the front cover, you can see some faint pencil marks but I can't read it. These are not in perfect shape. But they are in good shape given their age. Masterpieces in Colour Set of 8 Volumes Includes: Gainesborough· Greuze· Holbein· Holman Hunt· Turner· Velazquez Fra Angelico· Romney· While I cannot find a print date inside the books. I believe they were printed in 1909 from other books like them I've referenced. Many of the books are in very good condition with some slight age discoloration on the pages. Turner shows a small area in the upper left corner of the cover that has a bit of water discoloration or staining but it's small. Holman Hunt has about the same amount of water stain area on the upper right corner of the back cover and a few inside pages as well. Antique Huntley& Palmers Biscuit Tin Danner Library Bookcase filled with Books Antique Huntley& Palmers Biscuit Tin Danner Library Bookcase filled with Books. This is one of the more desirable H&P tins with images of classic books on all sides- each side is completely different with unique titles on the volumes. It is a footed tin with hinged lid cover- all complete and fine. Measures 5" x 4 1/4" and 6 1/2" tall. Fine clean solid complete condition with no damage or missing parts. It does have normal paint wear as you can see in my photos but all the images can be read! It is embossed inside the top Huntley& Palmers Biscuits Reading& London. Guaranteed a genuine 1900 era biscuit tin all original. The bookcase is very much in the style of a Danner revolving bookcase which were quite popular during the same ... moretime period. Huntley& Palmers biscuit tins were as highly prized as the products they contained and today they are collectors items. From miniature replicas of vehicles to tins that could be re-used as household objects. There were no limits to their ingenuity. However the tins were originally created for a more practical use- the airtight storage of biscuits so that they could be transported to distant customers and stay oven-fresh and unbroken. The Founding of Huntley. Boorne& Stevens. Joseph Huntley used the position of the bakery on the busy London to Bath road to his advantage and the shop quickly developed a good name with hungry coach travellers. The potential to sell biscuits further afield was soon realised and in 1832 Joseph Huntleys younger son. Also Joseph, began making tin boxes in his ironmonger's shop which stood opposite the London Street bakery. The First Tins. The first tins to be made were large. Square, 10lb tins which Huntley& Palmers then labelled. These were made by hand and cut from standard-sized sheets of tinplate weighing 115lb. A trained box maker could make about a hundred per day and it was not long before demand outstripped supply.
