We brought this out of storage a while back. Belonged to the in-laws. It is in dire need of cleaning and that is something I don't know anything about when it comes to items like this. This is cast iron. Please check out the pics for all the lettering on this item. The original tag to chopper is torn but saved most of it. The pics show what attachments there are. I show it apart and together. Nut goes on very easily. The box is not original. It's what it was kept in and will go with it. It's a wooden box. The lid and one short side is off. Front label on box is partially there and says Pineapples New York on one side and the other side says E. C. Ri-rest of label missing. Vintage Universal#2 Cast Iron Food Chopper/ Meat Grinder is in very good condition with very little signs of its true age. See pictures for details. Grinder is stamped"L.F. C New Britain Conn. USA No. 2 Universal Food Chopper. on one side and"Pat. Oct. 12. 1897- Apr. 18, 1898- RE. Sept. 6 1899" on the other. It may be Sept 5 1899– it’s hard to read it) Handle has a wooden knob. Nice old kitchen Food Chopper/ Meat Grinder. Measures approximately 10 ½” x 6 ½” Pictures are worth a thousand words so I hope you look them over carefully. I do my best to describe each item.
