My grandmother made her lasagna from scratch(noodles and everything) and this grinder ground the beef for the"gravy" It's all here and functional but will need a bit of de-rusting and cleaning. Antique Meat Grinder From Germany Alexander Werk Nice Wood Handle
For consideration an antique meat grinder from Germany. The brand is"Alexanderwerk" A company that has been around in Germany for 125 years and is known for their quality products. The meat grinder also has the Nr. 5 on top. I remember my German Grandmother using this piece in the 60's when I was a little girl. According to my Mother, she had already had it for 20 years at that time. It is a heavy meat grinder and I think it's made of iron but it has a tin-like finish. I don't think it was shiny even when it was new. The wooden handle is in perfect, smooth condition. I have not taken it apart to see what it looks like on the inside but everything does turn and is in working order. It looks like it is made of cast steel and it is very heavy. There is a cone shaped shredder attatched with a string. I don't know if it belongs to the Grinder or not so I included it anyway. The Grinder measures approximately 8-3/4" measuring from the top to the bottom of the clamp x approximately 7" wide. The Grinder seems to be in good condition with no damage that I can see.
