Antique Enterprise Vegetable Slicer
Up for auction is my Enterprise Mfg. Company#49 vegetable slicer/cutter made in Philadelphia. Pa. during the late 1800's. It has an intact wooden pusher in the small vegetable port, and a larger leaded tin pusher in the large vegetable port. Each pusher has a porcelain knob, one of which is very worn, but functional. This cutter appears to be completely intact and operational. The blades are very sharp and the unit spins freely and quietly when the handle is turned. There is some of the original pin striping worn away on the lower front of this unit(see photo) but the rest of the stenciling on this handsome cutter appears to be somewhat faded, but intact. This tool has been well-used but lovingly maintained. I haven't made an effort to deep-clean or restore this piece, so I really don't know if it would react positively to a good, ... morebrisk scrub. I DO know that this great country kitchen piece was many years before it's"time; definitely a hundread year old precursor to today's Cuisinart, only hand powered. It is a hand pump used mostly for grapes to pump the juice but keep the fruit peels separated. Beautifully marked Enterprise Machine Co. Of Phila Approved Patent July 10 1866. The pump dial is marked with the rate from 1 QT up to 4QT pumping rate. Previous owner put a clear coat over it. Mostly cast iron. pump is heavy for it's size. Up for sale we have a nice Enterprise 4 quart lard.Fruit press sausage stuffer unit, its still in its original paint, as you can see with the photos. It includes all of its original parts, basket press plate, double sided strainer plate stuffer tube and cast nut. I've cleaned up the press plate, the strainer plate and the basket, That is the only cleaning done from the purchase sometime ago. Antique Large Enterprise 10 Tinned Meat Sausage Grinder Food Chopper industrial
This auction is for an old meat grinder. This is the largest of the grinders I am listing. It reads on the top Enterprise 10 TINNED. MADE IN U.S. OF AMERICA It is all metal except for the wood black handle. It appears to me to be in working shape, I would clean it first before using on food but see no reason why it would not work. It measures approx. 12 to 13 inches long, thanks for looking. I will be listing several antique/vintage meat grinders. All are a bit different. Vintage Enterprise No. 22 Tinned Cast Iron Meat Grinder Chopper 1886
Hi. You are looking at a cast iron tinned meat grinder made by Enterprise. It features a wooden handle and'Pat. Jan.30.83 Apl.13.86, Philadelphia U.S.A. on one side. It has been left in its original condition with no restorations. It has more of a gray appearance than silver. There is rust throughout and some small spots of paint. The interior looks nicer but is also rusty. The strain plate has surface rust as well. The copper ring on the wooden handle has turned green and is loose. The handle turns but does make a lot of noise. It sits flat on a flat surface and is able to be screwed down. It is complete and appears to work properly. Pieces look much better when disassembled. There is some surface rusting. I gave it a quick wash then dried it in the oven so it wouldn't rust further. But did not oil it. I didn't want it to be a smudgy mess during shipping, but a good coat of oil and then some USE would make this right as rain! The bad is the handle is missing as well as the blade, and packaged weight is just over 10 lbs of IRON, lol. What's fabulous? There are 8 plates that go with this. The auger is there as well as the screw on cap. So other than the slight rust coating, this can be a great functional piece. It only has one foot with 4 holes to screw it down to your meat board.
