This is an extremely rare Keystone model 120 meat grinder in great condition. This meat grinder has an antique wooden board attached with antique screws and nails. The board attached to this meat grinder makes this grinder extremely rare and a hard to find item. The meat grinder is in excellent condition with barely if any rusting and all of it's parts there and working. The meat grinder has two grinding attachments that go with it. Making it even rarer. The meat grinder grinds real smooth and they just don't make them like they used to. This grinder would be perfect for kitchen decor or would be fit to use. Old Antique 1900 Patent Universal No. 1, Food Chopper, Meat Grinder, Cast Iron
Here's an old or antique Universal No. 1"Food Chopper" or meat grinder kitchen tool we received recently with some older kitchen items. This one has many raised markings on the cast iron pieces and seems to have had patents in the late 1800's with one noted as 1900. So this is probably from the very early 1900's. The cutoff piece is reversible and has a multitooth side and a three tooth side. The wood handle is in nice shape with slight signs of use and age as one might expect. My guess is this had been in use for making hash or other ground meat and vegetable type meals up until recently. It is relatively clean though a little fine cleaning could be done. Other markings indicate"L F& C" of New Britain. CT, USA. To lend a little scale to the photos the grinder stands about 8 inches tall from the bottom ... moreof the frame to the top of the frame. The opening is about 3 inches by 2.5 inches. Nice old or antique kitchen tool, seems suited for continued use. That's about it. Hi. You are looking at a cast iron tinned meat grinder made by Enterprise. It features a wooden handle and'Pat. Jan.30.83 Apl.13.86, Philadelphia U.S.A. on one side. It has been left in its original condition with no restorations. It has more of a gray appearance than silver. There is rust throughout and some small spots of paint. The interior looks nicer but is also rusty. The strain plate has surface rust as well. The copper ring on the wooden handle has turned green and is loose. The handle turns but does make a lot of noise. It sits flat on a flat surface and is able to be screwed down. It is complete and appears to work properly. Pieces look much better when disassembled. This had just a little surface rust on the inside.So I took it apart and cleaned it and treated it with mineral oil(a safe oil that you use on cutting boards) It could use some more cleaning. Up for auction is a cast iron. Vintage, possibly antique, meat chopper/grinder made by L F& C. of New Britain, Connecticut. The model is No. 323"Universal" Meat Chopper. This company, Landers, Frary& Clark, dates back to 1829 and made all sorts of household appliances, gadgets and housewares, right here in the USA. In 1965, it was acquired by The General Electric Company. I will include a short paper describing the interesting history of this company. This chopper/grinder is in great shape and works well and has a wooden knob on the handle. It is approximately 11" tall and 8 1/2" across from the tip of the wooden knob to the opposite end. All its parts are removable for cleaning. I do not know the age of this item but it is a great example of L F& C's American workmanship. LS Starrett meat& vegetable chopper. Manufacturerd by Athol Machine Company(MA) and designed by Leroy Starrett who patented the device on May 23, 1865. The piece is constructed of cast iron, painted tin, and painted wood. The piece works perfectly, and appears to be completely original. It chops downward, while the canister rotates. The metal drum rotated on a ratchet while the crank raised and lowered the guillotine-action blade, which cut meat evenly as the drum turned. To find a piece in such superb condition is a rarity. Recently, the same piece, but not in as fine condition, sold on eBay for $1145 in an auction format with over 30 bids.
