Antique - Victorian "Tonk" Piano Stool covered in a Beautiful Needlepoint
This is a wonderful Victorian TONK Piano Stool. Covered in what appears to be a wool hand stitched needlepoint. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. With a beautiful Burgundy colored background surrounding a floral design.The edges are held with hand hammered tacks, also in excellent condition. The legs are tooled wood finished with a metal foot holding a glass ball. Most likely the metal is cast iron.The legs are painted beige in color and do have several chips and dings in the paint. The glass balls also show some chips and wear but are in great condition, considering the age. This appears to be made in the late 1800's. Under the seat stamped in the metal frame are names of two(2) locations: New York, Chicago, and the manufacturer- Tonk. The complete swivel mechanism is not included, the inside threaded casing seems to be missing ... morefrom the stool. The seat part does have the threaded rod. However, you can sit on it. Beautiful Antique Victorian Carved Mahogany Tapestry Cushion Bench
Up for auction is a beautiful victorian cushioned bench. It measures 44 1/2" L x 20" W x 17" H. It appeared to be made out of ornately carved mahogany or possibly cherry. The material is a mauve to rose color floral tapestry. The bottom material of the bench appears to be original. When you push on the springs it feels like there may be straw or horse hair stuffing inside. The wood and material are in excellent condition and the bench is well constructed. It has a feature that is extremely rare.ornate applied carvings on both the outside of the end panels as well as on the inside of the panels(near the top on the inside) In 12 or more years of buying and selling 400 or more antique church pews. I have never had any other style pews with applied carvings on the inside of the end panels. The pew has been shortened from its original length and is just as it was used in the church; I have gone over it with Old English to cover over scratches from the nearly 100 years of usage. Entry way, on your porch or patio, in a sun room, in an office or reception area, or just about anywhere seating you would like to place them. The pew is 50 inches wide at the rear of the pew. Antique Adjustable Oak Piano/Organ Stool w Crystal Ball/Claw Bird Feet New York
17 1/2" fully down-23 1/2" fully up to where the threads come undone so about 22" of safe usable height. Seat is 14 1/2" diameter and dished in the middle for comfort. Signed the New York Piano Stool Manufacturing Company. Sliver chip to the underside of the seat which hurts nothing. Leg spread is 14" across the closest feet. 19 1/2" across the farthest. Glass/crystal balls are loaded with air bubbles and in good shape. Very ornate claw feet with toes and claws and scales to look like bird feet. Threads in the iron mounting mechanism look good and are not worn out. I see a split at the very bottom of the pedestal below where the 4 leg cross supports insert and another small split/chip where a leg inserts into the bottom of the seat support. Some one already glued these up at some point in time and it feels sound ... moreand solid with all the joints feeling tight. There is a groove about 1/2" below the end of the center support. I've often seen a piece of copper wire wrapped around at that spot to make sure the crack never opens up again. Finish to the oak has really darkened over the years. I am going to remove the 4 screws that hold the iron to the bottom of the seat to hold the box size down for shipping. Very sweet with a pussy cat motif. It measures 13 1/4" long by 9 1/2" deep and 7 3/4" from the floor to the top of the stool. The motif is one of a pussycat lying in the middle surrounded by roses and flora. My camera makes everything look like it is under a microscope and a bit hazy. The wood is darker and more vivid when one views it. As well as the needlepoint. See last picture. I only showed the one side that had the separation. The other long side only has an opening of approx. one inch or less. I showed the worst part and it really is not terrible.but have to mention and have to do it. The condition is as stated under the condition ... morereport on the front of the auction.all structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing. The only thing. As I said before, is that the edges on the stool(2 edges) have a separation in the needlepoint and have to either be glued down with sew glue that works great and drys invisable, or a couple hand stitches. I would prefer the glue, however a purist might take my head for that! REMEMBER THIS STOOL IS VERY VERY OLD. I truly believe it is late 1700s, especially from the handcarved wood and aged patina. This early antique footstool is 11 inches tall and 13 ¾ inches across. The needlepoint is salmon color with green and tan decoration. The parrot and butterfly are done in petit point. We do not know the age of the needlepoint but it does look quite old. The stool dates circa 1870.

This wonderful little child's bench is rare to find. It has a marvelous shape and form and is sturdy. It is made of pine and was found in Maine. Wonderful for dolls as well. There are repairs because it is so old and some old paint still in areas. For the purist. I left it the way it is. It measures 32" long and is approximately two feet high. Antique Iron Piano Stool with Beautiful Detailed Design
This is a wonderful Antique Iron Piano Stool. Patented in 1866 by M. Greenwood& Co. It is very heavy and solid. The Iron is painted a medium blue. There is some loss of paint on the feet, but the rest of the paint is in relatively good condition. The seat is covered in a gold/yellow handmade needlepoint with a floral center design. The seat seems to be a bit dull in color, however it is in relatively good condition commensurate with the age of the piece. I have no idea if the seat is original. The padding on the seat does not seem very thick, however it is not uncomfortable to sit upon. There is a thread mechanism that allows the seat to rise to a different height. However, the seat does wobble a bit. In its lowest position the stool is about 18 inches high the seat is 12 inches wide. Original Finish Antique c1900 Holtzman & Sons Oak Fluted legs Piano Organ Stool
I have up for sale a really nice vintage original circa late 1890s to early 1900s Holtzman& Sons- Columbus. Ohio Oak Piano Stool. The spins on a screw,making the seats height either raise or lower depending on the direction you spin it. This particular style is much harder to find than the more common glass ball and claw foot examples. It personally is more appealing to my tastes. Maybe yours as well. This is just a great looking piece- all original. And in mighty fine shape. There is some normal minor light wear but overall its in great shape. It is solid and sturdy, not made for a mountain of a man but it will hold up for most folks. The seat is approx 14-1/2" in diameter and with the seat at its lowest point,it stands approx 19-1/4" tall. The screw spins smoothly and easily. the approximate weight is 15 lbs as it sits. The ... morefinish is Excellent. Nice warm patina, some wear on the seat but nothing serious. As noted in the condition report above, one half round/half ball is missing from the seats beaded edge, two other half balls have minor imperfections- one appears to have been glued back on and there is some remnants of the glue residue. The feet have some minor nicking from use, once again nothing serious. I will package with great care and ship fully insured. I am not sure if I will use FedEx or Parcel Post but will use one of these services. My discretion- unless you have a preference. PLEASE HOLD OFF ON PAYMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED MY INVOICE. Merklen Brothers Oak Hall Bench, 1885 to 1890
This is a great hall bench made by Merklen Brothers in New York City. 1885 to 1890, in good original finish. Minor repairs and gluing of the joint were made plus it has been cleaned and waxed. Spiral turned legs and stretchers, barley twist strands woven into lattice work in the back, carved talon and ball feet. Not a one of a kind piece because it was manufactured, but relatively rare and quite beautiful.It is truly a piece of art! Measures 54" long, 37" tall, at tallest point in center. Antique Thomas Organ Stool Metal Claw Feet Thomas Woodstock
Antique Thomas co. wood and metal claw foot organ stool. Original finish patina though you might want to refinish depending on your preference. Has metal claw feet and glass or crystal balls. Not to sure on the age, have not done enough research on it, it measures 24 1/2" at it's highest point and 20" at it's lowest point, seat is 14 1/8" across, glass balls have some light chips on them, though not bad and gives this stool a great decoration in your home.
