I have wiped the stool down and given it a hand rubbed wax finish, so it is ready to use. This item is estate fresh and ready for a new home. Antique Organ Stool with Cast Iron Legs Rochester New York 1873 Archer Co.
An antique Vi ctorian organ or piano stool with original rosewood graining and figural. Cabriole. Cast iron legs. 10 Photos) The stool. 18" to top of seat, is in origi nal condition(as is) missing the fabrice.the original horsehair stuffing comes with the stool for upholstery. The stool was manufactured by Geo W. Archer of Rochester. New York,with a patent date of 1873 stamped on the cast iron seat plate. The seat can be raised or lowered by the revolution of the cast iron screw in the post.the support plate has been turned at one time, possibly because of screws loosening, and it would probably be a good idea to put it back into the original position with larger screws to enhance the balance when the screw is turned to the higher positions. The rosewood grained, nicely turned, post is in fairly good condition and could be waxed to achieve ... morea wonderful look. The seat is a shaped top, preferable to the plain square or round examples of the period, that would be a knockout with the proper fabric.much of the graining on the edge has worn off. Beautiful. Elegant Antique High-back Piano/Organ Stool Up for auction is my grandparents' antique ball-eagle-claw-foot high back Windsor Victorian piano stool. This stunning& elegant Victorian-era piano stool has 4 shapely turned legs with gorgeous ribbing finished with the magnificent ball eagle claw feet. Beautifully turned spindle stretchers secure the legs to the centerpiece pedestal. Original finish. Still in great condition. A true work of art and quality craftsmanship. Dating from about 1870 to 1900. A swivel adjustable stool with original ball and claw feet was made to use with a piano or organ. I do not know the exact hardwood, my best guess is it is solid mahogany. The finish is in excellent condition meaning there are no chips or scuffs* I believe it is American-made. It looks like Charles Parker, however I cannot find ... moremanufacturer's name on it so it could be custom made by an independent craftsman. Sorry, I just do not know since I am not an expert on antiques such as this. Please note: There are a couple of cracks that are visible in the finish(upper back of chair/right and left side) But chair is completely intact and secure. I do not know the origin of these imperfections- not sure if this is a hairline along a seam, or something to do with the way chair was made, or if the chair fell over at one time. Chair is still sturdy and although these hairlines look prominent in the pictures, you really have to look pretty hard at it to see them. Also please see pic of pedestal base of chair seat. There is a gap in the seam that does not affect sturdiness of chair, but cosmetically you may want to glue/repair. Up for bid is this nice antique. Black painted, piano or pump organ stool, with glass ball and claw feet. While there is a crack under the seat, the stool is structurally sound, so much that it takes my weight of 280lbs and still spins with ease. Sure it could use some glue and a few clamps, but if you didn't have to and it still works regardless, why would you bother. The stool stands approximately 17-18" high. It could be stripped down to reveal the original finish as well as the actual wood, species unknown. A nice piece as a project or just the way it is. Shipping and insurance will be $45.00 due to weight lone, except to Hawaii, Alaska and all international destinations, where I will ship to, however, costs tend to be a bit higher. For your consideration is a nice maple wood piano stool. The stool is marked"TONK CHICAGO NEW YORK" on the cast iron threaded seat support. The stool is very solid and adjust in height from 19 1/2" 25" and has a 14 1/2" diameter seat. The glass balls on the feet are free of anh cracks and chips. The stool has had the seat reglued and overall refinished at some point in its past and surfaces have a smooth sealed finish. There is a color variation on the base of the stool. Almost looks like shadowing in the finish, not sure what it is but it does look nice. I took lots of pictures of different sides so you can see. I have wiped the stool down and given it a hand rubbed wax finish, so it is ready to use. This item is estate fresh and ready for a new home. SC! Imagine the history that has happened around this piece! While I have no idea of its age, I am certain it is very old! The wooden base appears to be mahogany and is in superb condition. Attached to this base are three sturdy cast iron legs with beautiful ironworks designs that are in really nice condition minus flaws as seen in photos#1, 13& 14 below. The seat itself(measuring just shy of 14 inches x 14 inches) is soft, plush and spins just like new. This stool can be raised to a maximum of 26 inches in height and it can be lowered all the way down to 20 inches. The seat itself is in pretty nice ... morecondition for it's age with a few scratches around its decorative edges. It sits very comfortably and does not rock(but you can make yourself dizzy spinning around in circles on it if you like) or give that unbalanced feeling. This fine antique Victorian era Swivel Piano organ Stool with glass ball and claw feet. The stool is expertly constructed of a Mahogany or Cherry hardwood. It has a round swivel adjustable se at. This stool will adjust from 19" in height to 23" in height with a heavy cast iron screw mechanism as pictured. This sto ol is circa 18 80s to the early 1900s. The round seat measures 14 1/2" in diameter and has a ribbed edge and a slightly concave top to fit your bottom. The center post that holds the adjustable mechanism has a turned deep ribbed fluted column that matches the four legs. The legs are joined by turned spindles. All of the glue joints are very tight and sturdy. The stool has ... morethe original old ornate beaded cast iron claw and glass ball feet. The glass ball are all in good condition with no cracks or major chips. There may be a speck or two and they have the old bubbles in the glass. There are no chips. This is an ornate antique Victorian adjustable piano/ organ/ harp stool. The stool is in great condition and has been restored. Re-glued and reinforced. It is made of solid maple that is stained walnut. It has metal claw and clear glass ball feet. The glass balls are not cracked and the legs and base are ornately turned. What appears to be the original seat has been covered with padding and vintage toile floral cloth. The cloth is not ripped or torn. The metal support plate attaching the seat to the adjustment screw has been placed with a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" x 1/4" steel plate to provide ultimate reinforcement. There is some light wear and scratches from use on the wood. The seat is adjustable in height and has a large steel screw and shaft in the center which works pefectly. Wonderful antique adjustable piano/organ stool. Made by The Charles Parker Company. Not sure of the exact age. Very solid sturdy condition. Clear glass ball and metal claw feet. It has the original rippling finish that comes with age and has not been refinished but at some point somebody sprayed some gold paint in some places on the base. I imagine they thought they were giving it an"antique" finish. Not over done or offensive. It could be taken off with a little elbow grease and steel wool without getting the original finish off. The patina on the top of the seat is a little lighter from use than the base. There are some nicks and wear on the base. Nothing out of the ordinary. The underside of the stool's is embossed The Chas Parker Co. Meriden Ct. on the metal hardware. The seat is nice and solid- you can see where the original seam where the two pieces of oak were put together. But it isn't coming apart. There are 100+ years of small marks and scratches to the top, but they just give it character and could easily be sanded if you want to refinish it. Up for auction is this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID OAK PIANO ADJUSTABLE STOOL! It is in very good condition for its age. It is from the 1800's after all. It is adjustable height. It has the unpolished brass claw feet. The glass balls have NO cracks and r in very good condition with bubbles. On the bottom of the glass feet are pads so they didn't get scratched or cracked. I will leave it up to the buyer to keep them on or remove them. On the underside it says TONK NEW YORK CHICAGO. There is what looks like a scratch on the main middle leg but is the way it came from the factory which is a flaw in the wood. Please look at the photos I've showed it in one of the pictures. Antique organ/piano stool with spin top adjustable to various heights. I believe it's made of oak. Looks similar to other Victorian stools I have found. Cast iron hardware underneath says"Chicago. Condition is good and still usable. Has cracked seat that was repaired by adding a metal piece underneath-see pictures. Also has one leg that was reattached-see pictures. Antique Late 1800's Upholstered Top Piano/Organ Stool w/ 3 Ornate Cast Iron Legs
This beautiful antique. Victorian period, piano/organ stool dates to the late 1800's and features a 12" square, scalloped top fitted with a red upholstered top which is in serviceable condition with no tears. Central wooden turned section is supported by three. Very ornate, cast iron legs. Adjusts from 19" to approximately 24" in height. Does need three new atachment screws to fasten the adjusting collar to the central section.
