The fabric on top is ... morenot stained or torn. It is dusty down in the buttoned areas. There is one area in the velvet(not sure that is velvet, but it looks like it is) that looks like it was rubbed thin or matted down maybe. That one is in the middle of the top. There is another spot, gunk or something, that you can see in picture# 10. I think that will clean off okay. There are scuffs and shallow scratches in the wood, examples shown in the pictures, but no deep chips. The stool stands firmly, no wobble to it. None of the upholstery tacks are loose. The lining on the bottom has torn in one area, shown in the last picture, but it does not hang loose there. Also on the bottom, a stain, bottom center, in the second to last picture. Good looking period stool, in good vintage condition.

I have a picture of my father sitting on it with his brother when he was around ten years old-he just turned 84! I'll try and find the picture and add it to the other pictures! The bench is in amazing condition. The wooden base detailing is wonderful and it would be hard to find something similiar these days! Could be used in front of a fireplace. French Louis XVI Style Caned and Carved Antique Window Bench or Foot Stool Circa the late 19th Century. Possibly as late as the first quarter of the 20th Century Item# 130001ETR27 This is a beautiful French XVI Style Antique Window Bench. Possibly functioning dually as an antique foot stool. Probably crafted during the years of 1890-1910 during the height of the Rococo Revival period. It is a crisply executed piece. An overall breezy design, leveraging the play of the thin profile and tight formal lines against the bold and deep carvings along the hands and arms, it is a very successful presentation. The arms are molded, carved scales carefully layered along the top to culminate in carved acanthus handholds on all four corners, these are lifted on supports that flow in a single piece of wood from the handhold to the toe. Falling directly ... morebeneath each handhold is a floral display of bold and crisp execution, this flowing into a plain molded stile that squares at the frame, then turns and tapers in a stop-fluted leg terminating in a conical-ball foot. The apron is plain with the twisted ribbon molding wrapping around all sides, framing a tightly caned seat beneath a down-stuffed cushion(the cushion in poor condition) This is a simply gorgeous little antique window bench. So useful in design scenarios throughout the home. Gorgeous antique gold and gild bench. Delicate and romantic. Yet sturdy in very good condition, this piece measures 38 inches across, is 20 inches deep, and measures a hair under 24 inches high. Origin and age are unknown, but the detailing is phenomenal with brand new striped silk upholstery. A smudge/stain exists on the right corner as of recently. I have never attempted to clean it. Origin of stain is unknown, but looks cosmetics related. NOT INK. Most likely can be removed either professionally or with a home remedy. It really needs a restoration because the cushion is decaying so someone has taped papers on the bottom to keep it from making a mess. For sale we have a very pretty antique foot stool that measures 15 1/2 inches wide. 11 1/2 inches deep and is 9 1/2 inches high. The stool is cushioned and has a reddish burgandy slightly shiny fabric on it. This was recovered at some point. I do not know the exact age of this. To me it seems like the 1940's but I don't really know. The structure is great, no problems, as well as the fabric. The one leg is about 1/8 inch to short so I'm including some cork floor protectors so if you want to use them you can. You can double up on the one leg so the stool sits flat on the floor. You can cut them to size. The wood has a few scratches but nothing major. You can see on the bottom a staple that held a tag, a tiny piece of the tag is still there. The light green upholstery feels like velvet or velour with a matching trim. It may well be the original and it shown some wear. The underside of the seat is covered with a thin mesh. The frame is all wood and the rollers on the bottom of the legs are wood also. There is some scuffing on the front wooden panel. Looks clean, does not have any tears or holes, but it does seem as if it has been glued on. The seat is heavy solid wood that seems sturdy. Vintage/Antique Upholstered Bench with Cast Iron Legs
This"radio bench" as I've always called it) measures 24" long by 14" wide across the iron legs. And the padded seat measures 22 1/2" by 12 1/2" It is 19" tall. The iron legs have'ball and claw' feet. There is minimal rust colored areas in the grooves of some legs, but the general condition of the painted legs is good. There are shades of gold coloring high-lighting the black legs. Yes, the fabric is worn, but I believe this to be the original covering. There is one area on the lower right hand corner(note the close up picture) of the covering where a hole is starting to appear. Through this small area you can see what the cushion is stuffed with.and it is very thin strands/slivers of wood! This also leads me to believe the cloth covering is"original" It's an interesting old piece!

Seat and arms are upholstered with beige/ cream colored background, with gold highlights, although when looked at from distance upholstery looks yellowish. Four stylishly curved legs in Louis XVI style. Beautifully carved continuing into the armrests. Wooden skirt/ horizontal frame under the seats features carvings at the very center, grooves touched up with a gilt paint. Corners feature carvings as well, p lease take a good look. Description This is a gorgeous& very old stool/ bench. It has been painted black. The seat has been covered with an upholstery/tapestry type material and fringes adorn it all the way around. Colors are a combination of GOLD~BLACK~BROWNS~GREENS ~ The design has a dip toward the center ~ very nice for comfort. Indeed. The seat is made with 2 separate pieces of dark solid wood- you can see this when you look underneath ~ I do not believe that the upholstery cloth on the seat is original to the piece ~ Condition: please zoom in on all pics so you can see each and every aspect of this very cool old piece; shows wear from use over the years.
