This Berkey& Gay dining set consists of a 3-leaf table. 8 chairs, 1 china hutch, 1 buffet and 1 sideboard. It is made of walnut, with many sections ... morebeing bookmatched figured walnut- absolutely beautiful. All pieces are matching, and feature the metal medallion used in Berkey& Gay's furniture from the 1920's-1940's. Our best guess is that these pieces were made in the 20's. They're in excellent condition for this vintage. You'll see some very slight damage, shown in the last 4 photos. The table is pictured with only 2 leaves in place, the 3rd is leaning against the wall near the china hutch. The Berkey and Gay furniture Company of Grand Rapids. Michigan, became one of the leading nineteenth century furniture manufacturers in America. Furniture in the Gothic Revival and Eastlake styles by Berkey and Gay became well known for their high quality, and two Neo Grec chamber suites by Berkey and Gay won recognition of high merit at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition. The Berkey& Gay Furniture Company used three different types of labels to mark the furniture that they manufactured. The first label was branded into the wood and can often be found inside the drawers of the Berkey& Gay case pieces. Around the year 1900 the branded type label was replaced by a paper label. The brass label was used starting around the 1920's until Berkey and Gay went out of business in the 1940's. Please note that it is not uncommon to find both brass and paper labels used during the same era. Especially on dining room suites where the Berkey& Gay paper labels were quite often used to mark the dining chairs. As with the earlier branded label the Berkey& Gay brass labels can be found inside drawers or on the back of furniture such as beds. www.berkeygay.com

From the research that we have done this is a table made in Wabash IN in 1929. It is made by B. Walters and as you can see in the pictures it has a patent ... moreon it for having the sliding leaves in it. the leaves slide right under the top for easy access and storage. This is believed to be the original fabric on the chairs.we removed over 5 layers of fabric and the last 2 layers were tacked on. The fabric shows minimal wear and needs a good cleaning. But we wanted to leave in its original comdition and let the new owner make that call. this set was a one owner set and we bought this from an estate sale. Table is 31in H x 38in W x 60inL(86inL with leaves) The set is almost flawless. All drawers and cabinets open with ease, no noise etc. The chairs are all in great shape except the Captains chair once had a small fracture in the back side of the arm about 2 inches, which has been fixed. On the table the center has a layer of veneer on it and it has a small 1-2 inch raised lip on the outside edge. Everything else is made of solid Oak. We will consider reasonable offers. Pick up only.

English Georgian Hepplewhite Serpentine Mahogany Sideboard Late 18th Century. Possible alterations, replaced brasses Item# 130002UWP16 This is a wonderful selection for the decorator and interior designer. As well as anyone looking for a piece with a well developed patina for a formal dining room. Crafted during the late 18th Century, this English Georgian Hepplewhite Serpentine Sideboard is a visual delight- though not suitable for serious collectors, due to it's light alterations and numerous replacements, it has been carefully preserved and restored over the years and is fully functional. The overall form is sweeping, the top conforming to the overall serpentine shape of the case; the middle section has sliding panel doors revealing a large and spacious storage space. The legs were designed to reduce the mass of the overall case, note ... morethe odd parallelogram shape to the legs that allow the leg to appear thin and sharp when looking straight on at the case. A sturdy and well crafted piece. This is a treasure you will certainly enjoy in your home for a lifetime. Due to the noted replacements, it is offered at a very good value. Measurements: 69" wide x 27 1/2" deep x 37 1/4" high Condition Report: Many repairs. Cracks, dings and abrasions to veneers and inlay throughout- please review these in the images. American Federal Inlaid Mahogany Serpentine Sideboard New York. C. 1790-1800 Item# 130204FPP20 This is a simply gorgeous American Federal Sideboard with Serpentine form. Crafted of solid Mahogany with stringer inlays during the last years of the 18th Century. The top is a single solid plank of mahogany conforming to the sharp serpentine shape of the case, affixed from the underside with entirely original hand filed steel screws- as a result of the screw joinery, coupled with years of experiencing shrinking and expanding with humidity changes, the top has experienced some light cracking along the grains(review images and condition for full overview) Beneath the slight projection of the top. A pair of drawers on either side of the case flank a pair of doors beneath a larger medial drawer. All of the drawers have the typical joinery, large colonial ... morehand dovetails beneath applied cockbead molding, the drawer bottoms sharply chamfered to slide into rabbets along the drawer frame with cut iron nails tacking the back edge. While one drawer bottom is partially poplar, the rest remain almost purely crafted of yellow pine secondary woods, the curving drawer fronts crafted with laminated yellow pine blocks beneath a fine flamed grain mahogany veneer. The composition of the veneers is remarkable, the drawers flowing from one into the next with mostly pure transitions. Fully original oval brasses smoothly operate the drawers, all of which have fine smooth action and great strength. The case rests over long tapered legs of unusual thin profiles- note the fragility of the toes. How each leg comes as close to a point as possible while raising the substantial weight of this great case. The underside is untouched, revealing a simple and effective joinery- the serpentine medial blade is pseudo-dovetailed into either front leg(note the half-dovetail form they are cut into on either end) the flanking blades tenoned into the legs with double tongues. The medial compartment bottom maintains original glued blocks that work to s

ESTATE SALE I and was asked by the relatives of the owners to sell this sideboard as their estate is being dispersed. So I chose E-Bay for a quick"short" sale. I am a licensed antiques dealer and appraiser with 24 years experience This sideboard is 100% authentic and guaranteed as described. This is an estate situation, so buyers, take advantage! Described as: A very elegant English George III mahogany bowfront sideboard with dazzling cross-banded satinwood top and three line inlays, circa 1800, with the rare inclusion of the original“lion’s head” pulls. It is shown is estate condition, but it still retains a mellow surface, and warm color and choice surface. Thee are no repairs or damage of note. This came from a Charleston, South Carolina estate. Cosmetically, this sideboard looks great"as is" and has only minor flaws ... morefrom being in storage. A good cabinetmaker could make this piece look fantastic for a minimal amount. Retail, this is easily an 8-10K sideboard. The finish is very stable as it had been French polished and well-cared for. The last photos were taken outside with a flash camera and make the sideboard look red, which it is definitely not when seen in person. Also, the lion's head brasses look white in the photos. They were originally gilded and have not been cleaned. The are quite heavy and well-cast. No major restorations, breaks, or repairs. The top once had a brass rod at the back of the top. Professionally, I think someone had added this about 100 years ago. There are two circular"ghost"marks that show this where it was attached. The proper left drawer once held a divided cellarette, the dividers of which were removed at some point. DIMENSIONS: Height 36 1/4″ Length 63 1/4″ Depth(approximately) 28″ All reasonable offers made will be submitted to the heirs and a decision will be made within 24 hours. Payment by Paypal preferred and is expected within two days after the auction ends or it will be relisted. Questions? Simply call 1-803-834-3787. This is an exception

1723. English, Solid Oak Sideboard with a set of 8 English hand-carved, 18th century, solid Oak Dining chairs.
2 Fantastic 18 th century carvings. Probably decoration from furniture. We are offering today pair of carved ornaments. Depicting two snakes with lion’s heads, entwining the flaming torch. The carving is just magnificent. As you will notice there is some slight. Easily repairable damage(bad previous glue-job) to be re-glued and there are missing bottom tips of the torches and the snakes. As these missing parts don’t contain any decoration, it would be easy for half confident carver to replace them, thus make these fabulous torcheres whole and useful again. Quality is such that they deserve to be restored and used again. The wood is tightly grain mahogany(I think) and there is something written in pencil on back of one which I can’t decipher, perhaps signature of famous carver? Condition: Good. As found. Dimensions: 15” 37 cm) long. 5” 12 ... more3/4cm) wide, ¾”2cm) thick Shipping: Buyer pays for all shipping costs. 18th C French Provincial Enfilade c 1780 This is a stunning French enfilade made from English oak. The entire piece has 18th century craftsmanship with dovetailed joints and peg nails. A few interior areas have been re-inforced with screws. There are four cabinet doors and four deep drawers. The cabinet door on the far right has compartments that have been customized to hold flatware and serving pieces. The far two left doors have anterior section that is not divided so it can hold larger pieces. The hardware and key are original to the piece. The enfilade measures 21 1/4" deep x 38" high x 8 1/4 feet long(99 inches) The cabinet offers a tremendous amount of storage and I have used it in my home office for a very long time. I never intended to part with it but unfortunately I need more storage and I'm having built-in bookshelves ... moreinstalled. When I purchased the piece I was told that this was brought to the United States by a very wealthy family along the Main Line in Philadelphia. The wife fell in love with the piece while dining in a restaurant in the Normandy area. It was brought back to the United States by a container ship. The surface of the enfilade is stained with red wine and marked by hot dishes that it once held which to me. Creates the personality of this magnificent piece. I didn't want something that was perfect that I'd have to protect and be afraid of ruining. I hope that it goes to a home where it can be loved for many generations. g.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bjw%60hquvg%3Eg-14466c46da3-0x112-
