Some vintage wear, but nothing to diminish the antique beauty. The roll top rolls beautifully. The top cover appears to be restored. High quality. Hard to find swivel chair with very few flaws. For sale is a 1950s 2 arm industrial Jielde multi angle articulated machine ... morelamp. The aluminium elbows have been polished. The lamp is in working order and comes with 2.4 metres of new flex but not the plug as it is a French one. It is in very good used condition with some very minor signs of use to the reflector's surface. The reflector has its original high temperature painted surface and still has the bulb wattage/voltage sticker intact. The switch is in the base. I have included the lamp's weighted vehicle brake disc base in the sale. These lamps are very sort after and nice examples like this are becoming difficult to find. The photos don't do it justice! The lamp takes a Standard Bayonet cap bulb(B22) which are available at all DIY outlets. Bulb not included. The maximum wattage is 150w. Jielde lamps were designed by Jean-Louis Domecq for direct mounting on machine tools and for use in workshops. The lamps have now become particularly fashionable for use in loft style apartments and in homes generally as desk lamp/floor or wall lamps. So, hence I have fitted a trailing flexible lead to make the light more useable in the home. I have displayed this light using a vehicle brake disc which provides a solid base to show a typical method of mounting the light. Heavy sprockets. Hardwood- anything heavy will do the job. The light can also be fixed to a wall if required using its mounting base/bracket which has 3 holes in it. Although the light isn't heavy, it will require a solid wall and sturdy fixings to mount it as the movement required to adjust the lamp to the desired position will put stress on the mounting. If you do not want the brake disc included in the sale, then I will discount the postage by £10. Dimensions: Maximum extended height is 110cm( 44" The shade dia. is 16cm. This is a turn of the century wood lap desk with some issues. It measures about 11-5/8" by 8" by 3-1/2" deep. The wood is probably walnut or mahogany and does have age wear- a solid box- both the cover and the bottom have splits as you can see in the photos- has the compartments- one of the small dividers is missing- not sure if the locking mechanism works as there is no key. Its former botanical name was Toona Australis now Toona Ciliata. It is a timber rich in virtues. Scented, soft to the touch, easy to work, resistant to insect and fungal attack, it was the preferred timber for the cabinet making industry until the last of the great stands of trees were cut down at the turn of the century. This is one of the nicest examples of a clerks desk i have seen. They are coming into their own these days with the invention of the touchscreen computer they make the ideal stand up desk and Ipad rest. This one measure 795mm wide across the top. 640mm deep, 292mm high at the back and 212mm high at the front. It has an excellent slop ideal for writing on or resting your touch screen tablet on. The two drawers at the front are partitioned internally and ideal for keeping those pesky accessories in. The rear section underneath is capacious and provides the type of storage much lacking in a modern desk. It is in excellent condition with the kind of patination that you would expect from 140 years of use. It has a couple of spots where it has been gouged and repaired with the appropriate colour putty. it all adds to the charm and fascination of the piece. It has no legs so it is ideal for placing on an existing table to elevate it to stand up height. Commercially available stand up desks are expensive. They lack style but they are very ergonomic. Antique Weis 6 Drawer Wooden Flat File Cabinet Desk Counter Top Document
Circa 1910 Weis document file cabinet for a desk or countertop. Has it's original mahogany finish(though I think the wood is actually birch) By this time in our country's manufacturing age cabinet woods were starting to get pricey. Furniture manufacturers were starting to use veneers and stains to simulate more expensive solid wood. The start of the Industrial Age to 1910 saw the diminishment of our great forrest stands of timber. This cabinet boasts it's original label on the top as well as original file drawer pulls. The drawers fronts have light finish loss. Please use the magnify feature to see this. Luckily none of the previous owners used any type of permanent paper in the file slots inside the drawer pulls. The inside bottom of all of the drawers have a hole so that legal documents could be stored that took up all of the ... moredrawers interior volume. You would pull the drawer open and insert your finger underneath and up through the hole to lift the pile of documents so that you just slide off the amount that you needed without wrinkling the documents. This cabinet measures 10 1/2" tall. 9 13/16" wide and 15 7/8" deep including the drawer pulls. The drawers measure 1" deep, 8 5/8" wide and 14 1/4" deep. The drawer measurements are the usable interior dimensions. The drawers are for the most part are very clean with just one of them having a small amount of dry residue. The drawers do not have any odor. The exterior of the cabinet is of fingerjoint construction with the inerior drawers being nailed. The exterior joints are very solid. The cabinet has various light scratches and some pinpoint paint drips. The top has a very small area of finish loss. The sides near the front of the cabinet have some slight finish loss as well. Facing the cabinet, it's right side has some finish loss along the bottom edge. This same side has a tight crack about 1 1/2" long coming up from the bottom. it is not very noticeable. Vintage Chinese carved relief panel camphor drop front desk would be a great addition to your home. The carving on all the panels except the top surface of this beautiful deck depicts pictures of China's landscape. The hand made construction of this chest is unique. It comes in two sections as shown in the images. It is made of English oak and is in great condition. The only damage being the deterioration of the leather desk top area as well as some small wood loss around a screw hole on the bottom gallery, again see images for detail. It has a row of 4 pull down flaps with drawers at each end and above and these in turn have titles to indicate what can be kept in them. Above these are sectioned pockets for envelopes, paperwork etc. There is no key. It was purchased from a recently arrived English family who said it belonged to their Great great Grandfather who was a serving British military officer and it travelled with him around the globe ... moreon various missions he was undertaking for the British Government and it is thought that he was a sea captain. There was no proof of this but I had no reason to not believe it. It's exactly the kind of thing it would have been made for, coming in an easy demountable two piece sectional construction and having the flush none catching inserted brass handles for ease of transportation.
