SquareTrade © AP6.0 Here's a super nice DRILLED SERPENTINE BEAD of the AZTEC CULTURE(ca; 100 BC-500 AD) found years ago near the ancient Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico's Central Highlands. It's 1 1/8 in. 2.6cm) in diameter and 3/4 in. 2.0cm) thick. It's made of a hard greenish/gray stone(serpentine? and is very highly polished. This bead was likely a trade item to the Aztecs from the Mezcala people of the Rio Balsas region of Guerrero farther south. This biconically drilled artifact. Probably the most distinguishing feature of the Cotocollao Indians was their ability to create artwork. They made ceramics that were more for decoration than for their usefulness. It is not known whether or not they had a special place inside their houses to make ceramic artwork or not. To make the ceramic. The Cotocollaos used a paste made of powder. The surface of the ceramic is known for its distinctive red tint. So mastered were they at this artwork that some pieces of ceramic are even known to produce certain animal or bird sounds. The quality of the ceramics was superior to all others in that time period. From the thousands of fragments of ceramic found in the area today. Antique Tribal American Clay Pottery Pot Vessel Wrapped In Hide Very Old
Hi. Up for grabs here is a very old piece of early American Pottery. As you can see it has 2 chips on the top rim. A diagonal crack around and a vertical crack going to the top rim. It is wrapped in a hide that is gotten hard over the years. It measures about 5 1/2 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter. I have no formal training in this type of artifact and not going to pretend I do but this is a very old piece of pottery and surprising that it is still intact. A terracotta figure from pre-Columbian Mexico. Jalisco culture, ca. 200 BC- 200 AD. The figure, of a kneeling pregnant woman with a small dog its' paws around her throat, the head with the typical elongated feature, slit coffee bean eyes and large protruding nose. About half of the original red paint remains, her navel is indicated by a drilled hole, she is missing a portion of her left arm, fingerprints of the original maker on the soles of the feet. ANTIQUE WAGON WHEEL HUB AXLE or REPAIR STAND TOOL- Heavy Iron& rough hewn primitive Oak construction. The oak base measures 17 1/4" to the edge of the iron axle. And has wood trim around the base. The iron end piece is definitely a wagon wheel axle but does not show the rotational wear one might expect. The wood finish ends at the trim. I suspect this was part of a repair stand for a wagon wheel. It may also have been part of a horse drawn wagon. I am no expert. Iron axle measures 15 1/4" long. 9" spacing for the wheel, 2 1/2" end nut. Has a crude repair at top. VERY HEAVY. Could be used as a display stand for a wheel. Or as a wheel coffee table base.

Two Civil War Images Soldier 8Th Illinois .Calvary And 132 Indiana Inf.
Here is a small but powerful Civil War soldier grouping made up of a original calvary tin type and a very old copy of the same soldier serving in a infantry unit. As well as 16 copies of pension related papers. The solder name was Henry E. Eichfield. This soldier first served in the Co.D of the 132 Indiana Regiment which was a 100 day outfit. With this groping comes very old copy photograph of him standing with musket, haversack, ammo pouch, bayonet, and wearing bummer cap. Now on to a most interesting original 3 7/8 x 2 1/2" tin type Image of the same soldier with in Co. A of the 8th Illinois Calvary. In this image Eichfield is wearing his calvary gauntles which is the same as gloves, a unique bowler style hat, calvary shell jacket with collar and buttons touched in in gold, and high leather boots. A little history about the 8th Illinois ... moreCalvary is{one} on June 3 1863 just west of Gettysburg a officer from Co. E borrowed a carbine from a trooper and fired the first shot of the battle. Eichfield was not part of the outfit at that time, two} when he was part of it the 8th Ill. Cavalry, the 8th took part of the pursuit of John Wilkes Booth, and{three} they were Lincoln's honor guard as Lincoln lay in state under the rotunda. At some point not long after the war Eichfield moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin and was kind of a big shot in The Grand Army Of The Republic which was a Union Veterans Group. Here is a very clear colored image of a very well dressed man seated with his hand on a book. I believe this to be what is known as a salt image. But of that I am not positive. The image is matted under glass and in a frame, all being original to the piece. The back of the frame measures 14 1/8" x 12 1/8" The frame has some chips in the plaster or what ever it is that they trim the wood with, this can be seen in my auction site images. Ask? if need be. Thanks for stopping by. We have these authentic and extremely rare handcarved Pre Columbian figures in their everday duties. We have figures with objects on their backs. Theres a small little dog and theres also a couple of miniature pots. All these figures are from the same tribe and are approximately 2000 years old or older. Most of them measures 3 inches tall and one of them is 3 inches tall and almost 4 inches deep. Their in the condition that they were found it back in the 1940s. It's extremely rare to find these type of figures. The only ones we've ever seen other than ours were at the Los Angeles County Museum. We tried for several years to aquire these from Michael Robbins but they were his favorite and never for sale. When he passed his wife sold us a few of his treasures. Thanks for stopping by. We have this ancient Pre Columbian head of what appears to be the laughing boy. Its about 800 to 1000 years old. Its only a fragment of what use to be a larger statue. The head measures 3 inches high 3 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches thick. Its in good condition with a museum mounted stand. This piece is guaranteed to be authentic. Greeting Fellow Kollectors! Up for sale are from my most recent finds! This beautiful antique hand carved Haida wooden mask came from a wonderful estate of a man who was described by his widow as a'an amateur Indian Jones of sorts' He was an early film documentary film maker who travelled and explored all over the world and hence where his extensive collection of interesting and amazing artifacts came from. This pendant was told to me to be Pre-Columbian in origin as the original owner had a vast collection of such artifacts. Collected in the 50's and 60's. It has a wonderful patina and is carved with by a skilled hand. The item looks very ancient and there are no signs of modern tooling. It's definitely nephrite or Jade. It has good weight. I am not an expert and have no paper work to accompanying any of the pieces from ... morethis collection. But based on the story of the former owner's widow, I believe them to be old. Rare old. Ecuadorian wood and leather whip. Maybe used by gauchos but I think may have more likely been for on foot herding alpacas. Llamas, sheep or cows. Carved wooden handle with a braided leather whip and tip. 23 inch handle. Whip is about 53 inches Ecuador inscribed on the handle. Awesome Jaina Mayan Rattle Ancient Pottery Artifact Ex-Gallery NR
Hi. I have an awesome Mayan Jaina Island rattle figure for auction. This ancient artifact is incredible. I purchased this several years ago from Arte Primitivo, the Howard Rose Gallery. This figure is a molded pottery example with rattles inside of it. The rattles work good.This figure represents a dignitary with arms raised. It has elaborate ear spools, necklace, and wide collar decorated with figures. It has a white slip decorating the surface of it. This is intact other than a couple chips on the very top of the head. I couldn't find the book that had this particular one. I had another Arte Primitivo book with a similar Jaina figure. The Jaina artifacts are among the finest and rarest in pre-columbian artifacts. Measurements Lighter Jar Height: 20.5cm/ Width: 7cm( at its widest point) Darker Jar Height: 19.5cm/ Width: 6.5( at its widest point) Towards the end of the 6th or in the early 7th century. Khmer potters instituted an important technique for mass production of when they began to use the wheel. A Khmer inscription dating to 674 compares the source of creation to the potter’s wheel. of this period were sometimes decorated with and paint.
