Egyptian Revival Art Deco antique Button Lot Metal Lady/queen Glass Scarab vtg
I am not a button collector or button dealer so I just did my best to describe and photograph these. This is a lot of 3 Egyptian revival buttons c1920s. The scarab/bug button is black glass. The top is matte not glossy and it has traces of gold paint. There is also some green residue( I don't know if the green is dirt or something else) The other two buttons in the lot are metal. Looks like maybe a silver plating over a brass or other metal. These two buttons have the same ima ge of an Eg ypti an lady or queen. The large button is about 1.5 inches across and the other one like it is about 7/8 inch. The glass button is about 5/8 inch across. Good used vintage condition; some age/use ware and m ight need a l ittle cleaning/polishing. Because my items are vintage/used they may have some signs of use/wear and/or be in need of some cleaning ... moreor polishing. I have not tried to clean or do anything to the piece. NO RESERVE! FORVM Egyptian Lined Wing Green Naturalistic Scarab 200 - 30 BC Superb
Egyptian. Lined Wing Scarab, Late Ptolemaic, 200- 30 B.C. Along with the pyramids. Sphinxes, and mummies, the scarabs are one of the most familiar objects representing Egypt. Scarabs have been collected for centuries and were particularly popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Popularity decreased during the Great Depression and they have never regained their status as a hobby collectible of the elite. Very rare and interesting scarabs are far more affordable than might be expected for such important historical pieces. The designs of each scarab is usually unique. Even for the most common pharaoh, exact duplicate hieroglyphics of his name and title are rare. The backs are equally varied, and seldom will a drawing of one scarab accurately represent a second specimen. The major criteria for pricing scarabs are: quality, condition, rarity, ... morehistorical interest and size. Quality, perhaps even better called eye-appeal, is an overall appraisal of the beauty of the scarab and is often the most important price factor. Fine naturalistic style increases value. Beautiful glaze colors, vivid glass, and intense semi-precious stone hues increase value. Larger size increases value. Rarity increases value. Attractive, historically important(royal) or interesting hieroglyphics increase value. From the collection of Alex G. Malloy. Former dealer in antiquities for 40 years. AM33366. references: Lined wing scarab; condition: Superb. Additional comments: 10 mm long, light green faience, fine naturalistic lined wing design, coiled cobra design on base; estimated value: $288, GUARANTEE Guaranteed Delivery- We guarantee delivery or we will offer a refund. Replacement or store credit. Authenticity Guaranteed For Eternity- Any item deemed a forgery may be returned anytime forever for a refund of the purchase price. If any coin purchased from Forum is deemed a forgery by the ACCS. IGC, NGC or PCGS, we will pay the authentication fee plus a refund. Rare Ancient Egyptian Heart Scarab, 1079-800 BC, Traces of Gold Leaf, Faience
It is widely known that the scarab beetle was revered in ancient Egypt. This beetle. Found in the arid regions of North Africa, had a peculiar habit of depositing its eggs in camel dung(from which it feeds) and rolling it around with its hind legs into a ball until the ball of dung became hard. To the Egyptian this thought provoking achievement reminded them of the sun's rise across the sky every morning marking the beginning a new day(of life) The ancient Egyptian learned to make amulets of the scarab beetle from stone or faience to be worn for protection and good luck. Heart scarabs were larger than the average scarab and were meant to be sewn into the mummy wrappings near the deceased one's heart. Some of the heart scarabs had inscriptions of magical spells inscribed on the back(flat side) of the scarab and some didn't. My ... moreheart scarab is 2.5" long and was made from light blue faience with 24 ct. gold leaf. Traces of the gold leaf and blue faience can still be seen with a high-power magnifying glass. Esp. in the cracks and crevices. This one had no inscription on the back. Authenticated by Gayle Gibson. Egyptologist, the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto.

Egyptian Turquoise SCARAB
Egyptian Turquoise SCARAB This SCARAB is in very good condition and is well defined. I am no expert in these matters. I understand that small Scarabs are very sought after. My intention is to now sell each SCARAB individually. I am no expert in SCARABs. But I can see that it is a very good small example, and rely on honesty to obtain an honest value for this Scarab. Egyptian influenced, desk set is in excellent condition considering the age of the set. This has been in our collection for about thirty years. See photos.

Traditional Egyptian 900 Silver Scarab Pill Box
Traditional Egyptian 900 Silver Scarab Pill Box This is a beautiful vintage Egyptian Silver Scarab Beetle Pill or Snuff Box. In the Egyptian culture. The Scarab Beetle is a scared symbol associated with the Egyptian Gods. As can be seen in the pictures. This box is Oval shaped and has an upper& lower half. These sections fit together very snuggly and the seam is almost invisible. Thre is intricate design repousse craftsmanship on this piece. All indications are that this box is made of.900 Silver Alloy. For Egyptian jewelry. This designation is the equivalent of Sterling Silver. This piece measures approximately 1.5" 38 mm) front-to-back and 1" 25.4 mm) side-to-side and is 0.5" 13 mm) high. This Scarab box is in excellent condition and there are no visible dents or scratches. There is a very small seam gap at the back end ... moreof the lower section joining band. This is not visible when the upper& lower halves are joined together. It is possible that this was intentional since it seems to assure a very snug fit between the 2 halves. We purchased this Scarab during a visit to Egypt approximately 20 years ago and we were told that it was quite old at that time. We have never cleaned this piece. I am sure that the beauty would be improved with a good gentle cleaning. WE ONLY ACCEPT PAYPAL" WE ONLY SHIP WITHIN CONTENTIAL USA" If you have any questions regarding this item please email us. Vintage Hand Carved Egyptian Scarab Beetle Candle Holder Ancient Egypt Decor
This stunning vintage and unique one-of-a-kind Egyptian hand carved hieroglyphic scarab beetle candle holder is a little piece of Egypt. This would make a beautiful addition to any Egyptian themed decor. Or as a stand alone statement piece. His width across the base is approx 63.5 MM, height measures 114.3 MM and his total weight is 13.2 oz History: The particular species of beetle represented in the numerous ancient Egyptian amulets and works of art was commonly the large sacred scarab(Scarabaeus sacer) It seemed to the ancient Egyptians that the young scarab beetles emerged spontaneously from the burrow were they were born. Therefore they were worshipped as"Khepera" Which means"he was came forth. This creative aspect of the scarab was associated with the creator god Atum. Or Ra. The ray-like antenna on the beetle's head ... moreand its practice of dung-rolling caused the beetle to also carry solar symbolism. The scarab-beetle god Khepera was believed to push the setting sun along the sky in the same manner as the beetle with his ball of dung. In many artifacts, the scarab is depicted pushing the sun along its course in the sky, which is why the scarab was often associated with Ra, God of the sun.

Egyptian Scarab Beetle -1909- Cafe De' Opera Pattern - Wine Bottle Serving Tray
Here is an outstanding 1909– 1915 era– Egyptian Revival Scarab pattern– top logo– double handled footed base wine bottle/ champagne bottle– hour d’oeuvre tray. This is the first and only such large 12 ½” x 10 1/8” wide by 1” tall tray that I’ve ever seen or had like this. If you collect historic hotel silver or Egyptian Scarab pieces. You truly might want to consider this piece for your collection. This pattern is also confirmed to have been used by the famous The Cafe de L’Opera” which opened in 1910 in New York City at the corner of Broadway and 41st Street in the original Hotel Saranac building. The Café de L’Opera was based on the original famous one that was located in Paris. France. However it did not remain open for long, as it was eventually renamed the Café de’ Paris and closed by 1914. Additionally. This pattern was ... morealso used in many other upscale hotels and restaurants across the country during the late 19th to early/ middle 20th Century. There is also a good chance that the J.M. Murphy Co. may have used this pattern too. Murphy operated railroad station eating houses along the Baltimore& Ohio Railroad and the Erie Railroad, which some of these locations included Chicago Junction– Willard Ohio, Grafton West Virginia, Wheeling West Virginia, Zanesville West Virginia, and Relay Maryland. This serving tray features the most spectacular and highly attractive embossed Egyptian scarab beetle design on both handles. It would have been used in the dining rooms. Banquet rooms, or even for room service for placement of a bottle of wine or champagne bottle in the recessed area in the center. Additionally, it could have also been used for serving pastries, a dessert, hour devours, or other entrees. It would have also been used in connection with the establishment hotel china or railroad china. It is the heavyweight type Steamship, Restaurant, and Railroad silverplate. This serving tray was made by the International Silver Co. Meriden.S.P. Company. Which the Meriden Co. was formed in 1852 in Meri
