$10.57 Shipping Location: Santa Ana, United States I purchased and exported this figure(legally) from Ecuador. I have an export certificate. The figure represents a"Novia" bride) and was once ... morecomplete with legs. I verified as best I could its origin at an ethnographic museum and an antiquities dealer but I cannot guarantee it. The sculpture has dirt and discoloration inside and out and many layers of what appears to be a brown patina on its surface. The Jama-Coaque period was from 300 AD until 1530 AD. As you can see from the photos it has several breaks on the ornamental head dress. It has been mounted for display on a mahogany base with an oak dowel which pulls out easily from a piece of foam inserted in the head. It would make a nice addition to a collection.

$60.56 Shipping Location: Santa Ana, United States Rio Magdalena Burial Urn Authentic Pre-Columbian The economy is killing me. And I am forced to sell more of my extensive Pre-Columbian antiquities collection. ... moreBidding starts low with no reserve! Description: This two-part terracotta Rio Magdalena Burial Urn has a rounded bottom cylindrical base adorned with figural heads and carry-strap lugs. The lid is of a seated female on a low platform. With both hands on thighs. This piece does have loss of a figural head on the base, otherwise intact as shown in photos and an excellent example of an artifact that does not become available very often. This has been stored/displayed with the top separated from the base to minimize the chance of deforming the base. A note about shipping costs: I double box all of my antiquities with sufficient packing and allowing for crush-space. This means the outside box dimension is many times the size of the actual item. And actual shipping expenses are higher than I am charging for the auction. The good news is, I have yet to have a 2000+ year old artifact arrive broken(at least not more broken that it was when I shipped it! This item will ship in two separate packages. "DIQUIS COSTA RICAN COLOMBIAN EAGLE PENDANT AND NECKLACE SILVER PRE COLUMBIAN?"
DIQUIS COSTA RICAN COLOMBIAN EAGLE PENDANT AND NECKLACE SILVER PRE COLUMBIAN? Seems in good shape could be very very old. Has some dings and scratches surface wear but these all could be from the maker. This is very hand made the chain is a hook loop and there is link that has come loose from the end loop. You can see it in the pictures. I did test the metal and it is silver but I think its better than 925 but I cant be sure how pure. I could say that it needs a cleaning but I just cant clean it. I dont want to damage the patina especially if this is that old. Please see pictures for condition. I would like to know more about this if anyone out there has more information they would like to share I would really like that. There is a small silver ball inside the pendant where the chain connects and it does have a small jingle to it when you ... moreshake it. That leaves me to believe it is a dancers pendant. I cant be sure of the age of this item or even where it was made. My research has turned up the information above. It could belong in a museum. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you for bidding! Check out my! Be sure to add me to your! On Mar-31-13 at 21:12:30 PDT. Seller added the following information:

Stands about 8-1/4" high and 8" wide. Crafted between the years 1100 AD and 1450 AD by the Chimu. Comes with an original auction slip. Material is terra-cotta. The description from the paper reads. Globular jug with aryballos bottom, face in relief on neck, rudimentary arms, hunchback, incised, two animals, blackware, two handles at midsection. Condition good, repairs on rim. I do not know the age of the repairs on the rim but they are clearly visible in the pictures. There is one scratch on its back, should be just barely visible in the pictures. DECO MEXICAN 980 SILVER Pin Brooch pre-Colombian DISK Glyph GREEN ONYX TAXCO
DECO TAXCO MEXICAN 980 SILVER pre-COLOMBIAN PIN/BROOCH.ancient motifs. 980 silver. Almost pure and able to resist tarnishing better than sterling, seems to have been a favorite medium for the early maestros of Mexico's 20th c. silver Renaissance. The country's mines gave up ore of such good quality and in such abundance on the one hand; and on the other. The mastery of those silvermiths over their art was such that it allowed them to work with finer silver, which is known for being softer and more difficult to shape with success. The brooch presented here. In a pre-Colombian circular design with deep hand-etched details, beading and cut-outs, is the perfect example of those finer pieces. Adorned with a green onyx cabochon bezel-set at its center. It is mesmerizing to look at and beautifully crafted. SIZE/WEIGHT: 2 1/8" in diameter; ... more17.3 grams HALLMARKS/DATE: TAXCO 980" 1930s-early 1940s CONDITION: excellent vintage Thank you very much for your interest- please take a look at my other items and make sure you add me to your favorite sellers list! Chancay, Peru burial mother/child dolls collection,pre-Colombian fabric, vintage
Chancay. Peru burial mother/child dolls collection, pre-Coumbian fabric, vintage The tallest doll measures 24" The short one is 12"The feet are twigs wrapped in yard. These dolls have been in a cool, dark moth-free storage place for 15 years. No moth damage. Excellent condition for their age and what they are. The five dolls shown above are contemporary Peruvian pieces made using ancient textile fragments. The dolls are near facsimiles of a doll making tradition that was in practice along the arid central coast of Peru 1000 years ago. These modern dolls are an example of indigenous Peruvian artisans redeveloping an ancient industry of their ancestors to provide a new source of income. Sometimes modern dolls are fraudulently sold as antiquities. But often Andean artisans maintain the connection to their past and sell them as a contemporary ... morestyle of folk art that has ancient roots. These dolls represent a blurring of the line between the past and the present. Modern indigenous Peruvian artisans recreate Chancay dolls(named after the Chancay culture that inhabited the central coast of Peru ca. AD 1000- 1476) in the old style using ancient fabrics. A common difference between ancient and modern dolls. However, is the ancient dolls usually had textile woven faces. The fabric for the face was specifically created for that purpose. Modern dolls usually have facial features embroidered onto plain cloth. Also, since there is a market for the dolls, textile fragments used in modern doll manufacture are traded from throughout the Andes. It is not unusual for modern dolls to combine fabrics that originated at various locations along coastal Peru- from the North Coast to the South Coast, and that are separated in time by thousands of years. Most, such as the dolls pictured here, are composed primarily of Central Coast, Chancay fabrics. The Chancay people inhabited the Chancay and Chillon valleys on the central coast of Peru. They are best known for their textiles. Thousands of Chancay textiles survive in museums aro

Pre Colombian ARAWAK ( CARIBE ) INDIANS STONE ARTIFACTS - VERY, VERY UNIQUE
2 Pieces of Arawak indians artifacts. I was at the site where this items were dug from in the north border of Haiti and Dominican Republic. in 1981 One is a fertility God made of a softer stone. And the other one is a hand seed crusher, made of a very hard stone. One is approximately six inches long- and the other one is 5 inches in diameter A short history. This artifacts were bought in Port Bue Lemonade in the north shore a few miles of Cape Hatien. I was there doing a reportage on a Doctor. A Surgeon from Clearwater Florida, that once a year will visit the Albert Schweitzer hospital to do do cosmetic surgery on children's with Cleft Lip. On the day before returning to St. Petersburg. Fl. I saw a young man selling a rusted spanish musket- with my limited Spanish and French. I understood that his father was farming and pulling some of ... morethat stuff with his plow. I thought to do a short piece. And asked him to take me to his father. There at the end of the field was a small thatched roof hut. And inside there were a number of artifacts- all to big to carry back home in my camera bag- well, not rto waist the trip, and to make the young man happy, I bought the two smallest pieces i could afford. And here they are. They ARE ORIGINAL_ NO COPIES. I HAD TO CLEAN THE MUD AND DIRT FROM THEM. I'm retired from the newspaper business. And this artifacts have been in a box since then. I'm cleaning all the memorabilia, and this ones are looking for a better home or museum. Cheers. Ask lots of questions. PayPal only please. I'll ship world wide.Insured.

Kuna Tribe Pre-Colombian Design 2 Mola Tapestry-Panama 79.51689
If you have questions. Please feel free to call me on Skype. Click on the images above for larger views) This two mola Tapestry measures 19" x 27.5" Each mola is 12" x 15.5" Then there is a 2" black mat or border around the mola. Add a couple of inches for the loops. These are large. Well made molas loaded with design. The design is a Pre-Colombian design that is found in textiles, jewelry and pottery. It is thought to be a lizard or gecko. This is another example of what can be done with high quality molas. The tapestry is fully backed. It was designed and put together by a friend of mine who is a mola expert. Click above for the larger images. The Mola Story A short 30 minute flight from Panama City will take you several centuries back into the past. As you visit the San Blas Islands of the Kuna people, who still keep ... moretheir old lifestyle and traditions. The Archipelago is composed of over three hundred islands. Some inhabited, some not, some named others remaining nameless to this day, all of them surrounded with crystal clear waters. It is Paradise found. The Kuna people wear dresses adorned with hand made molas. As well as colored bead ornaments on their wrists and ankles. Chains, pectorals, a red headress, and gold noserings complete their every-day attire. Your adventure at San Blas could be a stay at an uninhabited island. A fishing tour, dancing and traditional rites, diving and spear-gun fishing, the enjoyment of the crystalline waters or merely the peace of a hammock swung by the wind. But to complete your visit you will undoubtably purchase a souvenir mola to remember your adventure. Molas are undoubtedly the most famous art produced in Panama. The Kuna women have been sewing these works of art for years. They incorporate them into their clothing. Usually with one mola serving as the front of the blouse, and another for the back. The mola is often described as a reverse appliqué. For each color of cloth that you see there is a piece of cloth of that color sewn into the mola.

Vintage 980 TAXCO MEXICAN SILVER BRACELET pre-COLOMBIAN appliques FIGURAL Glyphs
Description: I am particularly attracted to Taxco's early. Pre-Colombian motif jewelry, especially to those pieces that feature solid, hand-cut silver appliques based on ancient glyphs. Hallmarks/Date: Not signed for maker it bears an early hallmarked in raised letters reading"TAXCO 980" 1930s Condition: Excellent vintage with great patina; there are blobs of silver solder on the back of some links- possibly an old pre-cautionary reinforcement because ... moreI don't see any signs of previous damage at all Thank you very much for your interest and please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
