Bactrian Bone Spindle Whorls 45cm 18 inch strand
This old strand came out of the middle east about 15 years ago and is in great condition for its age. I have left the strand just like I got it from an old Afgani trader. Those of you who are into this type of material know what you are looking at so I will not try any fancy descriptions that might just make me look foolish. I am not an expert. Just someone who has been on the hunt for rare beads most of my life and was lucky enough to find a few treasures along the way. These beauties range from 8 to 27mm. in diameter and 5 to 16mm. wide. The strand is 45cm.18 inches) long, beads only. The US postal service just raised their rate for a small flat rate international box to $23.95. Until I can change all of my listings to reflect this new price consider this the rate for international priority shipping. I can ship First Class mail for less ... morethan half this price for small items up to 8 ounces.

Ancient 2,000 Year Old Bactrian,Roman Glass Shard Bead Necklace/Beautiful Blues!
I am listing a beautiful necklace I strung. Made with ancient, 2000 year old glass shard beads from the Bactrian culture in north Afghanistan and Pakistan. The silk route ran through this area and it was a major trading center for more than 600 years, so these are sometimes called Roman beads. The beads are spectacular shades of blue. Many with wonderful glittery patinaton on them from the glass being buried for so long. The small end beads are made from"beach glass" Necklace: 20: around; sterling silver toogle clasp. Please watch my site for other necklaces I have listed. That I have designed with vintage, Pre-Columbian, gemstone, and trade beads, strung with ethnic and antique pendants, those of my own design and castings, and other funky, fun and interesting things I find on my flea market adventures. gsrx_vers_486(GS 6.5.1(486)

ARTEMIS GALLERY A Near East / Bactrian Alabaster Banded Vessel
A Near East/ Bactrian Alabaster Banded Vessel Click on these links to view larger photos: 1- 2- 3- 4- 5- 6 Most likely Bactrian. From ancient Pakistan/ Afghanistan, ca 5th to 3rd centuries BC. Made from polished translucent stone, like alabaster or gypsum, served as containers for ointments, precious perfumes, and aromatic oils. These delicate and small-mouthed vessels were first produced in Egypt and evolved into a variety of shapes that were imported or imitated and locally produced in the Levant and around the Mediterranean during the second and first millennia B.C. At the site of Jericho, some of the vessels were made locally from a relatively soft gypsum obtained from Beisan, some 70 km from the site. Like other stone vessels of this type, its decoration is minimal with a simple but elegant ropelike band encircling the base of the neck. ... moreSuch vessels and their contents were valued and cherished at Jericho, for they accompanied the dead and were placed in tombs for use in the afterlife. 3-1/2"D x 2"H. Vessel intact. Ancient losses to band encircling, as shown. Provenance: Ex-private New York City. NY collection. Authenticity Guaranteed All items come with a Certificate of Authenticity

14.5 mm One Bactrian stone spindle - bead # Bk 04
One Ancient Black Stone Bead. Was excavated in Uzbekistan. Bactrian- Roman period. Hand drilled. Bead size approx. 14.5 x 10 mm. Weight 2 gr. Please. Check pictures for details. This stone bead shows a beautiful original patina and wear. Expected corrosion and wear are a consequence of age and extended burial. Good condition for this age* PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR FAVORITES LIST* For more collectible items visit our another store at… Hi! My name is Elena. I’m collecting ancient beads from 1979. Most of my beads were found in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. To be precise they were found between Mary city(Turkmenistan) and Samarkand(Uzbekistan) That area in past was called Bactria. Nowadays there are a lot of ruins older than 2000 years in this region. I like ancient beads very much and want that other collectors will be able to obtain them without ... morepaying a lot of money. That is why my prices are very modest. I lived in Asgabat city(the capital of Turkmenistan) over 30 years. About 15 km from Asgabat there is Nisa– former residence of Alexander the Great. And capital of Parthia. In most cases the ancient beads. Not only played the role of jewelry but also the status of the person wearing them. You were able to tell the social status of an individual based on the beads they were wearing, while other used these beads as talismans protecting themselves against bad luck and the evil eye. Certain beads that have zigzagging lines are supposed to confuse the evil eye which would get lost in these lines. Beads that have the image of an eye try to just absorb the evil energy, and thus protect the person who is wearing them. Periodically the beads would be washed in salt water, because it is believe the salt water kills the negative energy. The image of the eye was sometimes very abstract and was more like an image of a flower, however sometimes the beads would correctly reflect the wearers eyes, including the color. Parthia kingdom. The tsar of Parthia- Mitridat I(around 170—138/137 BC) took away the Selevkied's eastern

Older Plush 2 Two Hump Camel laying Down Leosco Collection Stuffed Bactrian
Older Plush 2 Two Hump Camel laying Down Leosco Collection Stuffed Bactrian Description: This auction is for a small plush Bactrian Camel(2 humps) that is in a sitting or laying position. It is about 5 1/2" tall and 9" long to the end of his tail. This is an older plush probably from the 80's as the tag says made in Korea. By the Leosco Collection. Pre-owned. But excellent condition, clean and from a non-smoking home. Please check out my other items and save with combined shipping. IMPORTANT- If you win more than one auction. Please do not pay until I send you an invoice reflecting the combined shipping. Ebays shipping calculator adds the weights together and can't take into consideration there is only one box so the automatically generated invoice you receive at the end of the auction will probably not be correct. HANDLING ... moreFEE AND SHIPPING COSTS- Also. Please note that included in the shipping cost that you are quoted is a handling charge to help me offset selling fees, gas to the post office, and shipping supplies(although I recycle as much as possible) The handling fee is $1.25 for US customers and $2.00 and up for International depending on the weight. THIS IS ALREADY ADDED TO WHAT YOU ARE QUOTED ON THE AUCTION PAGE. Ebay now charges me a final value fee based on the cost of shipping as does paypal and when you add that to a listing fee and fees based on the sales price. It really adds up and is averaging close to $2.00 on an item that I sell for $5.99, and that doesn't even count what I paid for the item! Buyers on the WEST COAST- I am in Tennessee. The Post Office now charges according to zones and you are far away. If an item is over 1 lb. The post office charges a premium and the cost jumps from $5.95 for a one pound package to $10.20 for any package that weighs between 1- 2 lbs. I have had situations in the past where a person has bought more than one item, but the combined shipping did not save them because the package went over 1 lb and the"savings" went to the post offi

Be sure to check out our other auctions to see other amazing artifacts we have listed! About Bactrians( Wikipedia) The Bactrians were the inhabitants of Bactria. Several important trade routes from India andChina(including the Silk Road) passed through Bactria and. As early as the Bronze Age, this had allowed the accumulation of vast amounts of wealth by the mostly nomadic population. The first proto-urban civilization in the area arose during ... morethe 2nd millennium BC. Control of these lucrative trade routes, however, attracted foreign interest, and in the 6th century BC the Bactrians were conquered by thePersians, and in the 4th century BC by the Ancient Macedonians. These conquests marked the end of the Bactrian independence. From around 304 BC the area formed part of the Seleucid Empire, and from around 250 BC it was the centre of a Greco-Bactrian kingdom, ruled by the descendants of Greeks who had settled there following the conquest of Alexander the Great. These people. Also known as Yavanas, worked in cooperation with the native Bactrian aristocracy. By the early 2nd century BC the Greco-Bactrians had created an impressive empire that stretched southwards to include northwest India. By about 135 BC, however, this kingdom had been overrun by invading Yuezhi tribes, an invasion that later brought about the rise of the powerful Kushan Empire. From this point the Bactrians tend to disappear from the historical record, a disappearance made final by the Arab invasion of the 8th century AD. The Bactrians spoke Bactrian. Superb Kanishka ae Tetradrachm - Kushan Empire Bactria Bactrian Greek India
Kushan issues of this period are struck predominantly from copper and therefore wear very easily. These issues rarely survive to the present day in such good condition but this tetradrachm has great detail. Note the detail on Kanishka’s robes. The draped cloth of Mithra’s garments on the reverse- a beautiful exotic coin from a famous and powerful ruler! Kanishka the Great remains as one of the most famous Kushan kings. Even though the Empire didn’t reach it’s height until his son Huvishka’s reign. His memory is preserved mainly in Buddhist literature. He was a great patron of the religion and held the fourth Great Buddhist Council. Kanishka was also known to have established a new era which much of the local contemporary histories and scriptures are based on. He even changed the official language from Greek to the more representative Bactrian. ... moreKushan Bactria and the whole empire(which stretched to Northern India) was a mix of cultures and tradition. With multiple religions being tolerated and co-existing within the empire. This is reflected in the coinage of the Empire, with a variety of different gods being represented. On this coin for instance is the God Mithra- originally an Iranian god associated with light. The British historian Edward Gibbon commented on Kanishka’s reign saying that it was a golden age for humanity. Obverse. Crowned king Kanishka standing left. Holding spear and sacrificing at an altar, Bactrian legend: þAO KANηþKI' Reverse. Mithra standing left. Holding sword hilt and holding out hand in blessing, radiate(flaming) nimbus around his head, tamgha at left, Bactrian legend: MIOPO’ right Diameter. 25mm PAYMENT within three days of auction end please LIFETIME GUARANTEE of authenticity- or FULL refund after return of coin in same state- BID WITH CONFIDENCE POSTAGE/ CORREO- £2 por correo estandar a Espana. £3 standard international postage Additional items free postage!
