1910 Danish 830 SILVER Server (Old Viking Ship) Else M Lyngdal
Here is an interesting server. At first look I would guess it is a fairly modern piece. However. Based on the Hallmarks, it was made in 1910 by Else M Lyngdal in Denmark. It has a wonderful old viking ship on the face and a full set of Danish Marks on the back. 3 castle mark with 10 for 1910) and was assayed by Christian Heise. The server is a little over 11 inches long and weighs about 90 grams or 3.2 ounces of 830 SILVER. All items were purchased by me for my silver collection because I thought they were beautiful. They may have minor scratches. And polish marks, but all are free from major damage. However, if you purchase one of my items and don’t like it, simply return it for a refund within 14 days of purchase.

It has a silvered rim and a silver overlay design of poppies that was added by Silver City Glass Company(this poppy design is called“Flanders” Viking made this pattern from 1952- 1986. It was designed to hold accompaniments to a meal- celery. Carrots, olives, pickles, relishes, etc. This relish measures 13 ¼ inches long x 9 ¾ inches wide(at the widest) And is 1 5/8 inches high. Offered for sale. A footed ruby glass elegant art plate with silver overlay manufactured by New Martinsville/Viking Glass Company, to the best of my knowledge. The silver overlay"Peony" is a design attributed to Rockwell Silver Company who later merged with Silver City Glass. The Rockwell Company purchased glass from the following American companies: Duncan and Miller, Heisey, Jeanette, Federal Glass, Fostoria, Colonial Glass, Imperial, Cambridge, Indiana, Viking and Pairpoint. Their depositware can also be found on Lenox and Johnson china. The plate is in a very good. Gently-used condition with no chips, cracks, repairs. The silver overlay has tarnished a bit, but I have read polishing is not recommended. It measures 8" in diameter. Exact circa unknown. This appears to be a rare piece. A beautifully made unusual Norwegian solid silver salt cellar. It is hallmarked 830s and the makers mark of Hestenes of Bergen. It dates to the early to early to mid 20 th century c1920-1940. It has been beautifully designed being in the form of a nicely detailed Viking ship complete with glass liner. The inside is decorated with an image of the midnight sun at Nordkap. The Spoon measures approximately 2 1/2 inches or 63 mm across its length from the top of its handle to the front rim of its bowl by just over 3/8 of an inch or 10 mm across the widest part of its upper handle from side to side and it is 5/8 of an inch or 16 mm across the widest part of its bowl. The salt or sauce dish and spoon are both made from solid sterling silver and the dish is in the novelty form of a Viking long boat or ship that has been superbly embossed or raised relief decorated with shields. I acquired this piece at an auction some time ago. And apparently it was apart of an estate along with other antiques; mostly 1800's, and not antiquities. Many cultures in antiquity would use the snake as a symbol in all kinds of imagery and especially Jewelry. At first I was going to list this in the Roman category. With a history of conquest and plunder, jewelry was an important part of their culture and this ring was produced in the English settlement of York which they called Jorvik.
