Heavy Jorgen Jensen Pewter Viking Helmet Pendant Necklace Steel Chain- Denmark* Up for bid in this auction is a heavy Jorgen Jensen pewter viking helmet pendant with a steel chain which was made in Denmark. The pendant measures 1 3/4 inches in diameter. And measures 1 7/8 inches tall where the jump ring to hang the pendant is attached. The pendant and chain weigh 44 grams on my scale and the ring is marked on the inside of the band with"PEWTER, Jorgen Jensen, Handmade, Denmark, 278B" Additionally, the pendant is 1/8 inches thick, front to back. The chain for the pendant is made from steel, and measures 13 inches long doubled up, lying out flat it would be a 26 inch chain, there is no clasp on the chain so opening up the chain would not be possible without opening one of the links. The design of the pendant is a simple one but very ... morestriking, it is a raised viking helmet with horns in its center while there is a raised edge around the perimeter of the pendant which is impressed with circular dots which are perfectly spaced apart. The surface of the front of the pendant is very, very lightly scratched through previous use, these scratches are not noticeable at all. The back of the pendant is smooth so the scratching there seems to show a little more, there are no deep scratches, just light ones from normal wear. There are some very teeny black marks along the bottom edge on the back of the pendant, I am guessing these were made when the pendant swung forward while on the previous owners neck and hit something rather hard on its edge. This mark on the back is about 1 millimeter in width at the widest point and covers about 5/8 of an inch running along the bottom edge on the back of the pendant- this small mark does not detract from the beauty of this pendant, I mention it only for the sake of accuracy- there are no marks of this nature on the front of the pendant whatsoever.
