This is something that has been in my family for over 40 years. My mother acquired it through her aunt's estate. Its a mysterious old bone carving of a religious figure set in 22 k fine gold(tested) Measures 7.cm length x 3.5 cm width. What is strange about this piece is that the back part was added later to convert it into a brooch. That part is stamped 750. 18k. 1956 Kay k192 Roman Gold Hollowbody VERY COOL!
Based on my best research. This is a 1956 Kay K192 in the rare Roman Gold color, which has faded to an attractive green as is typical. If you do some research into Kay catalogs, you'll find that this is closest to the 1956 K192, with the exception of the pickup selector, which in this case is a toggle switch, but in the catalog appears to be a slider type of toggle. Also, the catalog version has a truss rod adjustment located in the neck heel. In the case of this guitar, there is no adjustment. The neck is straight(dips a little around the 16th fret) and the action is good with room for adjustment up or down. There is some chipping paint around the pickup selector and at the neck heel. This is strictly cosmetic and the neck joint is solid. This is a good fingerpicking country swing. Jazz, early rock-n-roll/ rockabilly guitar; shredders ... morelook elsewhere. The guitar is pretty classy with MOP inlays, cream-bound body, neck, knobs and pickup switch, strong pickups(I'm pretty sure they're single coil, most Kays were) and the cool Roman Gold color. A couple knobs are a little tight, but work fine. Non-original but period correct pick guard. New strap hooks. This is a big guitar: lower bout- 17" upper bout- 12 1/2" body thickness(including bridge) 4 1/2" body length- 20 3/4" total length- 42 1/2" String height at 12th fret- 1/8" Will ship with what might be the original(not sure) chipboard case. This is a used Set of Four Vintage Heavy Glass Coasters with Gold Trim. The bottom is reverse printed with a Greek or Roman image of a man and woman enjoying an ancient cocktail. This is a set of four coasters. The coaster are in good condition. The coasters have some scuffs and scraps. Two of the coasters are marked with grease pencil or crayon on the back. All the image on the reverse of the coasters are in good shape. One has a scratch in it about ¼ inch. The gold trim on the coasters have some nicks in them. There are no chips in the coasters.
