pre Columbian very old Chavin stirrup vessel wTL test Doc! Ceramic pottery veryR
Very old and very nice typical Chavin stirrup vessel. It is interesting to elaborate with thousands of small scribe signs bumpered surface. The scribe characters form even lines and circle pattern, only the bottom of the spout and the bottom of the stirrup have no signs. In addition, dimples were applied to form a geometric shape, triangles or squares. The knobs are probably eyes, pointing in the four cardinal directions, long before the Incas divided their kingdom in four directions! The scribe characters look like scars from the pimples like suction cups octopus. The vessel body was broken and was assembled professionally. This form of Chavin ceramics is getting very expensive and very rare. A museum piece! See the price inclusive the lab test. Unbeatable! Culture: Chavin. 1000-200BC Price Offers welcome! Age: 2600 years old. TL tested, ... moreTest Document inclusive! Tall approx. 6-1/3” Important for collectors who do not know my offers: it gives antiques. Where you don't know, it is genuine or new(looks old or is a fake. Many looks old, but it is? The best way to find out is an independent laboratory substance test. For many collectors is one reason, why they don't make a test, the high price. In Europe are the cost today ca. 260 Euro/ 300USD per test! Here you get an antique piece inclusive a test(Thermo luminescence Analysis Report) For me as seller is this best feeling. Because I can give you a really accurately described piece and the guarantee, made in antique times, an antique artisan, from an old long ago bygone culture! Provenance: My own Private collection. Can anyone write a COA. A material laboratory test for determining the age is truly something special! I know the disappointing feeling when you realize that you bought a copy or a fake! The llama carries a pack bag or water bag given the bulbous plug on one end that's slung over its back. Its head is strongly modeled with deep set eyes, perky ears, and flaring nostrils. Pre Columbian reproduced Muisca terracotta pottery double bowl stirrup vessel
This is a really nicely created Pre a Columbian double Jar and spout stirrup vessel typical of Muisca Culture of Columbia. It was recreated in painstaking detail with patina and manganese deposits. I believe a series of Pre Columbian art pieces have been made in Britain and this is one of several I have purchased. Nicely done. Sits on two pottery rings. Great for the lower budget collector of pre Columbian artifacts and from a culture not typically seen online. Great eye catching decor. Muisca culture is from Columbia circa 5000C to 1500BC. They were a very large and well devolved pre Columbian confederations of cultures and were larger than most other groups more readily known. Thought to exist beginning as long as 5500 BC. Heavy item for shipping but sturdy. 11 inches long. 8 inches tall, and 51/2 inches deep. Big boy. Beautifully rendered. ... moreSee my other Pre Columbian artifacts and unique gifts. Awesome LARGE set of Pre Columbian terracotta pottery carved beads stones relic
This is an impressive lot of 37 Pre Columbian spindle whorl bead stones with great carvings. There a lots of different patterns and shapes collected over Peru and probably Mexico but the exact location isn't known. These are terracotta or pottery beads used on small sticks to aid weavers in spinning yarn. This is still done by the indigenous peoples of South. Meso America and Mexico. The beads are large many over an inch. See photos. These beads are very old and likely 500-1200 AD. They are typical of many you will see on line or auctions of Pre Columbian bead stones. Purchased from online collector. I have used beads like these just for the impressive display but also to create jewelry or necklaces with modern elements and spacers and restringing them so that they become Pre Columbian wearable historic jewelry with a contemporary look. ... moreThe carvings are deep but there is wear on the stones which is due to the age and adds to the charm. pre-Columbian vessel head trophy wTL test Doc! Veracruz Mayan pottery ceramic
You are bidding on a large vessel head of Veracruz Maya culture; you look at the head of it can be seen that there is either a trophy head or around a sacrificial ritual. The facial expression is dead. Which speaks well for the ritual, where victims were skinned and priests covered skin. On the top is a hole, which was used for hanging. Small chipping, scratches and minor crashes, the original coating(which should probably represent skin) has defects. A rare and interesting piece, these ceramics are hard to get! See the price inclusive the lab test. Unbeatable! Culture: Veracruz Maya. 600-1000AD Classic Period Price Offers welcome! Age: 1100 years old. TL tested, Test Document inclusive! Pre-Columbian MAYAN POLYCHROME POTTERY pieces - vibrant imagery
Part of a small collection brought back by an agricultural adviser team that did a lot of travel by foot and mule on farms in Latin America in the mid-1960s. These sherds have multi-colored designs. Some could be made into interesting pieces of"ethnic style" jewelry or pendants, or could be shadow-box framed or mounted on a small pedestal.there are chips and very thin cracks- The decorations and colors are fascinating- these were found carefully wrapped in a box marked"Off Tegucigalpa-Olancho highway- old mounds being bulldozed for road building materials. Such pieces were"scattered over the area and being carried away in dump trucks. The most interesting things in this group are the intricate designs, including geometric and especially human and/or animal depictions in vibrant colors and fascinating, artistic designs ... moreon these pieces. It is a very interesting and attractive group of items from the Central American area, and shows the work of highly skilled artisans of long ago. I will pack carefully and ship USPS within the US. ag6 2.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp73%28c%3Eag6%3E2-14acb90d6c7-0x10a-

Toltec pottery portrait bust of a warrior c900-1200 AD_Pre-columbian Mayan Aztec
Toltec translates from Nahuatl to mean"artist" Or"high art" The Toltec era predates the first contact, invasion or conquest by Europeans in 1492(Christopher Columbus) Toltec was the pure- unadulterated zenith of both Mayan art and the Mayan civilization: 900 AD to 1200 AD. Of museum quality: this pottery portrait bust of a warrior with slit eyes and bared teeth is culturally spot on. It was fashionable to depict the eyes thus. And most important for a warrior to bare his teeth. Indeed his teeth may have been filed/sharpened and it was said that a young warrior could not hope to marry until he had bared his teeth at the woman. Most pre-columbian pottery"heads" are broken off at the neck from larger figures and are not unique but merely representations used repetitively. Unusually this is a portrait bust of an ... moreactual person and is intact; though his earrings are chipped and'numerous'bobbles' are missing from his headdress. Note: the depressions where the'bobbles' once belonged are full of soil. Suggesting they may well have been knocked off during the lifetime of the warrior; certainly before his likeness was covered by centuries of soil. Pottery busts were usually commissioned during a person's lifetime and then placed upon a shrine after death. He is depicted in all his glory as a warrior of his time. Wearing his ceremonial adornments. Condition is excellent and absolutely original; it has never been cleaned and is still partly covered in soil. You can gaze into the face and see the person as he really was. And to a degree imagine something of his ancient and mysterious warrior life. For a pottery artwork around a thousand years old it is surprisingly robust. And a fabulous academic piece to sit on a desk. It lived in the private collection of a Palm Springs archaeologist from 1969 until recently. I believe it was dug from the earth by him somewhere about the area of Southern Mexico? It measures H x W x D approximately: 3 3/4" x 5" x 3" and weig

pre-Columbian bird man figure ceramic wTL test Doc! Mayan pottery Priest RARE
You are bidding on a ceramic of the Maya culture in the form of a bird. It is also possible that it is a bird man. A priest in the bird costume. Striking is the upscale head, a position of power, and the large comb headdress. The massive bill is the reference to a bird of prey. Originally a pipe, through the centuries a hole on the belly is created. The surface is changed due to age, scratches and crashes. Maya ceramics are highly sought after, partly because many have not received as many ceramics, as in the Peruvian cultures that are part of the basic climatic conditions and often sacrificed to the Mayan ceramics by ritual destruction. 16 AUTHENTIC PRE-COLUMBIAN POTTERY ARTIFACTS FROM EARLY ARIZONA COLLECTION
16 AUTHENTIC PRE-COLUMBIAN POTTERY ARTIFACTS FROM EARLY ARIZONA COLLECTION AT AN ARTIFACT SHOW I WAS ATTENDING NOT LONG AGO. A WOMAN WHO LIVED IN THE AREA CAME IN WITH A SMALL COLLECTION OF ARTIFACTS SHE HAD INHERITED YEARS PRIOR FROM HER GRANDPARENTS. THE GRANDPARENTS HAD LIVED IN ARIZONA IN THE EARLY 1900'S AND HAD SPENT MUCH OF THEIR FREE TIME SEARCHING FOR ARROWHEADS IN THE SOUTHWEST US AND IN NEIGHBORING MEXICO. IN THEIR LATER YEARS THEY HAD PURCHASED FROM A LOCAL DEALER A FEW STONE ITEMS AND SOME PREHISTORIC POTTERY FROM WESTERN MEXICO. MOST OF THE FOUND ARTIFACTS HAD BEEN CAREFULLY MARKED WITH A CODE AS TO WHICH SITE THEY CAME FROM AND THE PURCHASED PIECES WERE USUALLY MARKED WITH DATE OF PURCHASE AND PLACE OF ORIGIN. WHEN THE GRANDPARENTS PASSED AWAY, THE HOUSE HAD BEEN CLEANED OUT BY THE WOMAN'S BROTHER AND THE FIELD NOTES ... moreWITH ALL THE SITE LOCATIONS HAD UNFORTUNATELY BEEN DISCARDED AS TRASH. CONSEQUENTLY, I HAVE A LOT OF PERSONAL FOUND POINTS AND OTHER ITEMS WHICH THE WOMAN CONSIGNED TO ME WITH NO EXACT PROVENIENCE. THIS LISTING IS FOR 16 CLAY ARTIFACTS, PRIMARILY BROKEN FIGURINES OR FIGURINE HEADS AND A FEW DRILLED POTTERY PIECES. FROM WHAT I'VE READ, MOST OF THE FIGURINES AND HEADS LOOK TO BE LATE FORMATIVE CHUPICUARO DATING IN THE 300 BC TO 300 AD RANGE. THEY ARE GUARANTEED TO BE GENUINE. STARTS AT 9.99

Pre-Columbian Moche Effigy Pottery Jar, circa 100 AD-700 AD
Up for auction we have a wonderful piece of Pre-Columbian Peruvian pottery. Beautiful Moche figural effigy jar that show two figures holding a bound nude male prisoner. Stirrup spout handle protrudes from the back of this orange-ware vessel. Incised raised features. Tan slip on body and reddish/brown slip on figures and handle. A very elegant and unique piece of ancient pottery. Size: 7-3/4" Tall and 4-1/2" at its widest. Culture: Moche. Peru Circa: 100AD-700AD Some very slight surface wear and paint loss as to be expected of pieces this old. Small stress crack on face of large figure(see picture#5) Complete and in great museum condition. This displays really well. And some information found on the Long Island University Museum site: Stirrup Spout Vessels were the predominant ceramic form throughout the Pre-Columbian Peruvian region ... morefrom the earliest cultures beginning around 1000 BCE until the conquest of the Inca in the 15th century. Stirrup spout vessels comprise an enormous array of styles and designs but have the common characteristic of a stirrup. Or handle, and a spout. The handle, placed on top of a variety of bases that range from the simplest globular shape to elaborate portraits, could be vertical or horizontal. The spout(or spouts) were either attached to the handle or placed just behind it. They were both hand made and mould-made. Some were elaborately crafted, others were mass-produced. The vast majority of extant stirrup spout vessels have been found in burial sites scattered throughout the Andes. Scholars believe that some vessels were used only for burial purposes, while others were used for rituals and ceremonies. Still others, as indicated by the wear and tear are believed to have utilitarian purposes such as for carrying water or other liquids. I will be charging insurance at the shipping center for this piece. Based upon final pricing. This amount will be told to you upon winning bid.

Fabulous Unusual Antique/ Vintage Pre Columbian Style Pottery or Ceramic& Brass Metal(with Gold Painted Details) Large Figural Mayan/ Aztec/ Inca Indian Female Fertility Deity Figure Pin Brooch& Clip On Earrings Set. Set is unmarked/ unsigned. So the designer, exact age, and country of origin are unknown to me. I have no doubt the jewelry ... moreis from Central or South America, originating in Mexico, Peru, or possibly Columbia. Set is definitely quite old, based on the design of the pin back on the brooch(it is one of those antique straight pin pull-out release pin backs) There was a wonderful artist named Annette Nancarrow who created similar jewelry as this set, when she resided in Mexico in the 1930s(she was the jeweler of Frida Kahlo) but since this set of jewelry is unsigned, I have no way of knowing if it was possibly one of her creations. Brooch measures about 2 1/4" long x 2 1/8" wide. Earrings measure about 1" wide across x 1 1/8" long(top to bottom) Set is in what I consider to be excellent antique/ vintage condition, with a few little shallow flakes in the pottery/ ceramic here& there. Nothing serious. The pottery/ ceramic glaze has the normal expected age crazing, and there is minor finish wear on the gold painted details(a few little rubs here and there, mainly on the head pieces of the figures on the earrings) The brass metal backs have normal age patina/ tarnish. This is a very unusual& fabulous set of Pre-Columbian style jewelry! Please email me with any questions BEFORE

Vintage NATIVE FACE JUG Pottery Peruvian Pre Columbian Replica Stirrup Vessel
Vintage NATIVE FACE JUG Pottery Peruvian Pre Columbian Replica Stirrup Vessel This is a wonderful vintage terra cotta red clay pottery jug made in the Peruvian Pre Columbian style featuring a Native's body sitting on it's head. Really unique design and form. Approx. measurements are 7" tall. 7" long and 4" wide. The jug is in great vintage condition with age appropriate crazing to the gloss glaze on face and a couple of fine hairlines under the glaze. There is also one small chip to top of body as shown. I honestly have no idea as to age or origin. The bottom does not look to be antique so I feel he is only made in the Peruvian-Pre Columbian style. Unfortunately he is unsigned as to maker/artist. Really a wonderful face jug. Vintage items are a piece of history and always in style. Offering styles and construction that ... morecannot be duplicated today. Buying vintage is a wonderful way to contribute to"going green" by recycling pieces from the past. ~Please note~ Most of my pictures are taken with a magnifying lens giving me clear. Close up photos.
