Early 20th century Sarouk Persian carpet. Deep cranberry with floral pattern throughout. Great. Vibrant pattern in navy, white, blue, orange, green, and black. Some variation in the colors as seen in the picture due to ordinary wear. No stains that I can see on the field of the rug. Fringe was replaced in 1990s; a couple of small stains on the fringe. I am not sure of the exact date on this piece. It was last purchased from an estate sale in the 1990s. I believe it to be from the early 1900s-1920s. Later during the early 14th century, the Shrine of Imam Reza was brilliantly renovated by the Mongol, Sultan Muhammad Khudabandeh. At first, the Toos area was the residence of non-Aryan tribes and some parts of it were conquered by Arabs in the period of Caliph Osman. The ring is engraved on the underside with initials(looks like CG) and the date of 1879. The mounting is quite ornate with detailed design. Especially on the sides, and with substantial gold for a ring of this type and era. There are 5 Persian turquoise on each side and 7 pearls down the center. Slightest darkening from age. Antique Persian Hamadan rug. C1910, measuring approx 3' 8" x 5' 8" The rug has a tan medallian surrounded by a plain red area. It has quite a bit of wear and required painting, mainly in the center area of the rug. There is both end and side loss. There is a 2 x 3 inch patch about half way down the right edge of the 3rd photo. It appears to be of professional quality and is not visible in the photos and will not be noticeable when put into use. Also, in the left side red area of the 2nd photo there is a 1/4 inch spot that needs to be stabalized before it degenerates into a hole. This rug has been hand washed.
