A very high quality Persian high grade silver vase. It is hallmarked with the Persian silver standard mark and a makers mark and tests as high grade silver. I would date it to the early 20th century. It has been beautifully made being very finely engraved with three panels depicting hat I suspect are religious figures. It is in prefect condition being free from dings. Splits, holes and repairs. It is a decent size measuring over 5.25 inches(13.4cms) tall by 2.25 inches(5.7cms) wide. It weighs a very respectable 4.4 troy ounces(136 grams) and is not filled or weighted. Which is normal for a rug of the age. The size is 4'3" x 7'3" Baluchi carpets(also called Baluch or Beluchi carpets) are handmade carpets originally made by Baluch nomads. Living near the border between Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. These nomads also occur in a smaller scale in Bahrain and in the Punjab province of India. About 70% live in the main part in Pakistan and are divided into two groups; Sulaimani and Makrani. The carpets are sold in the city Mashad in Iran- Mashad-Baluch carpets.
