Antique empire style couch and ottoman
Beautiful Empire style couch and matching ottoman with walnut trim from the mid 19th century. Upholstery updated in 2006. This is a lovely piece which I would love to keep. But am downsizing and will no longer have room for it. The matching ottoman sets this piece apart from other similar couches. Dimensions: 6 ft 3 in wide. 2 ft deep. Couch has wheels. The left rear wheel came off(I have it) and probably would not be difficult to put back on. Since I've owned it I've had it resting on a small block of wood which has worked very well. Up for auction is an early Victorian-style equestrian embroidered footstool. This footstool has four metal and wood casters. Detailed carvings and is/was filled with hay. Please note the bottom cover which would keep the hay in place has been previously removed. Most of the hay has fallen out but footstool is supported with inner metal supports. Antique Turned Leg Ottoman Footstool Stool Woven Seat Hand Made Spindle Ball
For your consideration. A wonderful, antique footstool or ottoman. This footstool measures 12" wide by 13" long by 11" tall. This little stool has hand turned legs. You can see the marks that the saw left in the wood; please see photos. Each leg is heavily turned with 5 balls on each leg, plus the ball foot. There is an unusual amount of detail for such a simple small piece. The top of each spindle leg has a circle on top of a larger circle carved into the top. These make up the corners that are visible from the top of the stool. The seat is a simple woven raffia or rush, although I doubt that it is original, as it appears to have been added to, although I cannot be certain. The wood was stained dark, but age and wear has caused a beautiful figural grain to show through in places. Condition: This stool is in great antique condition. ... moreOne stretcher for the seat is broken; please see photo. As the seat needs restoration, repairing or replacing the stretcher would be in order. Otherwise the wood is in excellent shape without any cracks or splits or chips. This stool would be just gorgeous restored to its former beauty. However, I have had this in my house for years, with an antique oak staved bucket on top of it that held umbrellas. The condition looked good in a shabby chic early American way. This is a very elegant well made little piece. Bid with confidence. My packing is excellent at no cost to the buyer. Antique Kidney Shape Ottoman Covered in Canvas Leather
This antique Kidney Shaped Ottoman is eye catching. Very good condition for it's age. Came from one of the older homes in my small Texas town. The fringe is 10 in long. I don't know how the fringe is attached. The dusty rose colored material looks like leather. But I think it is the old canvas leather used so frequently back in the late 1800's and early 1900's. A leather like substance applied to canvas material. Have seen this fabric on old suitcases and boxes. Has an"old" smell as it has been in storage, but not overwhelming. The ottoman is about 16 inches tall, about 26 inches long, and the top measures 11 inches wide. The button on the back is missing. Antique/Antiquity Bronze Oil Aladdin Lamp Arabic Persian Ottoman Middle East
For your consideration. An antiquity, or antique bronze Aladdin genie oil lamp from the Middle East. This was in a collection with a pre Colombian Native American clay pot, an antique Turkish copper bath bowl, and two antique Asian small carvings. I know that this lamp is more than a hundred years old, and is possibly several hundred years old. It is small: it is 4" to the top of the lid on the lamp, 5.5" to the top of the arched bracket over the lamp, 4" from the end of the spout to the arched bracket, the body of the lamp is 2.5" wide, the diameter of the base is a little over 1.25" and the body of the lamp is about 1" thick. The lamp is heavy for it's size; weighing a little over 9 ounces, or 260 grams. It feels like cast iron, but the patina inside the lamp is bright turquoise. I believe it is made of ... morebronze. One side of the lamp has what looks like an arrow head shape or a fish head in a circle in the middle, and floral pattern on the rest of the body and spout. The foot is decorated with a pattern that looks like stylized capital A's in a line around it. The neck of the lamp has a pattern reminiscent of the Greek key pattern. On the other side of the lamp is what appears to be writing in Arabic. The foot is the same scripted A pattern, the spout has the same floral pattern, the neck has the Greek key like pattern, and the lid has the same tiny Greek key like pattern around the edge, and then descending from the pointed top, down to the Greek key edging, are consecutive shapes that look like men's ties. The tip of the lid appears to be broken off. The bracket that curves over the lid has what looks like fish on it. It ends in a diamond shape with a hole drilled in it. ANTIQUE UPHOLSTERED CUSHIONED SMALL WOOD FOOT STOOL OTTOMAN BENCH VINTAGE
For sale we have a very pretty antique foot stool that measures 15 1/2 inches wide. 11 1/2 inches deep and is 9 1/2 inches high. The stool is cushioned and has a reddish burgandy slightly shiny fabric on it. This was recovered at some point. I do not know the exact age of this. To me it seems like the 1940's but I don't really know. The structure is great, no problems, as well as the fabric. The one leg is about 1/8 inch to short so I'm including some cork floor protectors so if you want to use them you can. You can double up on the one leg so the stool sits flat on the floor. You can cut them to size. The wood has a few scratches but nothing major. You can see on the bottom a staple that held a tag, a tiny piece of the tag is still there.
