Antique Sash Belt Buckle Ottoman Persian Turkish Engraved Medallion Silver Mark
This beautiful antique silver buckle was appraised at the recent Anaheim Antiques Roadshow in the Metalwork& Sculpture section and they told me it was probably a low grade silver. Turkish, Persian, Middle East valued at about 225.00. The buckle measures 4 3/4" long and top medallion is about 2 1/2" across on top of a 1 1/2" by 3/4" opening with 1 1/2" wide buckle with hook. There are numbers 336 on top and bottom. I have one more with similar marks. Purchased in the 1970's from an antique estate sale. The top has been polished gently, inside is still dark, they are very beautiful to display on your dresser, desk or vanity. I take pleasure in offering for sale this genuine Edwardian ottoman with an embossed Heron to the front. I'm not entirely sure if this box is classed as an ottoman. As it may well be a piano stool. This ottoman is a true Edwardian antique piece of furniture. But remains solid/robust, and fit for purpose, but as you will see from my photo's, it does require a certain amount of restoration, in that the upholstered lid has become somewhat threadbare. There are signs of woodworm holes, but I can confirm that this has been treated, and most certainly no longer active. Measures 39.5cm tall x 35cm wide x 28.5cm front to back.
