I could not find any markings on the blade. There may be some marks but very faint. Overall length is 28 1/2" with a blade length of 23 1/2" long. The sword is a double edged blade. Cruciform hilt, a steel cross-guard and bound wooden handle. The scabbard is tooled leather and in fair condition.

Antique Qajar Persian Cossack Islamic Sword Shashka after Russian Dragoon Saber
Antique. Circa 1900 Persian Islamic sword, shashka, patterned after the 1881 Russian Dragoon saber, shashka, carried by the Persian Qajar cavalry Cossack Brigade. Details: A slightly curved single edged steel blade with a wide full-length fuller edge. Stamped on one side of the forte with Farci numbers. A regulation brass stirrup hilt and downcurved rear quillon, with the loop for the tassel and a spirally carved wooden grip. The tassel is the first and only example of the sword original knot that I have ever seen. The brass pommel is struck with Farci numbers, as on the blade. The numbers on the blade is not the same as the scabbard. The sword comes with its original, oxidized, steel scabbard with suspension ring. The mouthpiece and the shoe stamped with numbers. The Blade is 29m inches. Ant scabbard is 33 inches. That and the numbers on ... morethe blade and scabbard don't match makes me think that this has been mismatched.

INDO PERSIAN KHULA KHUD Chiseled and inlaid. Late 18th/19th century A good old Khula Khud with chiseled and inlaid decoration. The bowl of the helmet is completely covered in decoratative designs and Koranic script. The decoration extends to the base of the top spike and the nasal bar. Many areas of the surface are inlaid with a gold? or brass wire and the Koranic script and other areas are highlighted in black that looks similar to niello work with silver but is probably a different technique. The camail needs some gentle attention and the helmet needs to be cleaned overall to bring out the decorative elements. It looks like someone has started this process in places. There are many decent 20th century examples of these helmets for sale but original 18th and 19th century examples are scarce. Stand not included. Being offered is a nice old antique and very long Afghani khyber sword. The sword measures 37" when measured in its scabbard. Nice thick T back spine on the straight blade. The blade shows oxidation and wear commensurate with its age which would be late 19th to early 20th century. Nice brass mounts on the scabbard of commensurate age. The handle and the leather appear to be working life replacements. All in all. A nice example of exceptional length that originates from the Khyber pass regions of Afghanistan. INDIAN FIRANGI SWORD Very Nice example. Late 18th/19th century A good old firangi sword in good condition. The sword has extensive traces of silver and brass or gold inlay around the basket hilt which has tiny thread holes to secure the long absent padding characteristic of this hilt. The ricasso and other elements of the hilt are very decorative with piercings. A faceted pommel spike and other fancy metal work. Definitely better than those typically seen. 47 inches overall with a 38 inch single fullered springy backsword blade, most probably a European import. The long flexible blade is in good condition, without abuse and has a smooth pleasing patina. A single small area of rust on the blade needs to be removed. The remaining silver inlay on the hilt could be highlighted with a gently cleaning. Two old drips of clear lacquer on the hilt ... morealso. The blade has a very slight curve to the left, nothing bad in a flexible blade of this length and age. Overall one of the nicer Firangi's I have seen recently. I can tell you very little about this sword except that it is old and likely military BRIT INDIAN REGIMENT. FRENCH? MIDDLE EASTERN? INDIAN? PERSIAN? ISLAMIC? I would like to know so if you do then contact me and tell me please! it is quite likely made for indian regiment serving with colonial British forces but i am not certain of anything for sure regarding it, but it has been said that it is French and 18thc, but the blade baffles me as it is an eastern made blade as i see it, the hilt grip is made from hardwood which appears teak to me but also i am not certain of that, the blade is however scarf welded and the join is just past the 2nd mark furthest down towards the tip of the blade, i did etch and re polish after and it did show a clear join that i know to be a scarf weld, the front end of the blade is certainly laminated steel and shows ... morea damascus pattern when etched similar to what i have seen on many scarf welded Indian blades, this does not show in my pics because after etching i gave the sword a basic clean and basic polish with 800 grit paper, there are some interesting marks on the blade and it also has a typical yelmen tip with widening sharp top edge as seen on many Indian Indo Persian and Afghan swords, the knuckle guard is marked with a number 5 which makes me think this sword is British military Indian from the colonial wars when many Indian soldiers served with the Brits, there is active rust apparent but i am sure someone out there would like this old relic for restoration, rare or not i do not know but maybe someone could shed some light on this old sword and where it is from and what date. size is. 35-3/4 ins total length, blade 30-1/2 ins. NO RETURN! Antique 18th Polish Tatar Sword Kilij Shamshir Islamic Turkish Ottoman Mongol
This sword has been featured in multiple sources in the past. Including several well-known auctions, dealers and collectors(please see the links in the last picture above) The sword is 36 inches long from which the blade is 31` inches long. The blade is similar with the kilij blades in shape but not as wide. In very good condition with some few marks of pitting obviously was cleaned many times in the past. It has a small but important silver inlay with a Tatar Tamga- an abstract seal or stamp used by Eurasian nomadic peoples and by cultures influenced by them that could probably be researched to see which specific clan this sword was used by. The Tamga was normally the emblem of a particular tribe, clan or family. These swords are very rare and mostly seen in museums in Eastern Europe. OLD ANTIQUE ISLAMIC ARABIC MIDDLE EASTERN SWORD WITH ZULFIQAR BLADE
Being offered is a very interesting and unique sword. This sword measures 21" in total length. The blade tip is split in the distinctive Islamic ZULFIQAR style. In considering the possible Islamic and Arabic regions this most likely originates my best guess is the Sudan. The grip is 2 slabs riveted to the tang with 3 rivets to each side. The grip has developed a wonderful rich yellow orange patina. It has been fitted perfectly to the shape of the tang and the pommel has not been shortened. The patina on the end of the handle is the same as the sides of the grips. The blade. With visible laminations along the edge, features a double row of semi circle designs. Those semi circle designs also surround the tip. One of the two tips of the end of the blade has broken off. Some oxidation and pin hole pitting in spots. HUGE INDIAN FIRANGI SWORD Very Nice example. 18th/19th century A good old firangi sword in good condition. The sword has extensive traces of silver and brass or gold inlay around the basket hilt which has tiny thread holes to secure the long absent padding characteristic of this hilt. The ricasso and other elements of the hilt are very decorative with piercings. A faceted pommel spike and other fancy metal work. Definitely better than those typically seen. 47 inches overall with a 38 inch single fullered flexible backsword blade, most probably a European import. The long flexible blade is in good condition, without abuse and has a smooth pleasing patina. A single small area of rust on the blade needs to be removed. The remaining silver inlay on the hilt could be highlighted with a gently cleaning. Two old drips of clear lacquer on the hilt ... morealso. The blade has a very slight curve to the left, nothing bad in a flexible blade of this length and age. Overall one of the nicer Firangi's I have seen. FINE SUDANESE KASKARA BROADSWORD A very large and high quality Sudanese Kaskara sword with velvet over wood scabbard with brass hanger mounts and wide blade completely etched with Thuluth inscription. The oversize 38 inch sharp blade is 2 inches wide at the forte and also struck with two half moons on each side. It is most likely a European export blade. The cross guard is silvered brass and the hilt has a decorative silver metal covering and wire binding. The scabbard is slightly distressed. The silk base for the velvet is worn and shattered. Particularly on the lower back part where more rubbing would occur during use. The front is pretty good, having some velvet pile left. Small pieces are detaching from the back.
