Description This antique circa 1900 or earlier Moroccan Islamic/ Berber fassi pottery polychrome small dish. Is hand thrown in quite thick earthenware. It is hand painted with arabesque lotus flower design to the centre, with 6 lotus buds around the outside in a negative white ground flower form with foliate infill corner patterns incorporating lots of tiny dots. The rim has a lotus flower border design all in shades of cobalt blue, yellow and turquoise and all very finely painted. This gorgeous little dish is marked to the base in cobalt blue script. It is in good condition with no chips. Cracks, damage or repair, there are some glaze frits/ flakes to the edge of the rim and around the foot rim and the glaze has a semi matt finish. Decorated with Islamic script, and dating to around the late 19th/ early 20th century. The two piece sprinkler has a circular tapered pedestal foot. A bulbous body, and a long tapered neck with a knopped detail& a pierced rose finial. The neck unscrews at the base to enable filling. The sprinkler has a hand carved& black enamel decoration all over. With Islamic script around the body- please see all photos& click to enlarge. Condition is good& solid with a good thread and only the expected marks& wear commensurate with age. The only point to note is that the neck leans slightly. The sprinkler stands just under 8" 20cm tall.

For sale is this beautiful pair of very old Persian papier mache panels dating from early 1800's They have been made from papier mache. They have been hand painted with extremely fine quality scenes of Qajar men on horsback as they hunt. I have uploaded close ups so you can see how fine the quality really is. The level of detail especially to the facial details is remarkable. There is substantial wear on both panels. The pair of panels are very old probably early 1800's.
