There are four uncleaned artefacts in this lot. And they have all been found by metal detectors. There are two part fibulas, a piece of a pair of silver tweezers and a rusty band ring. One of the fibulas has been extravagantly decorated with pieces of lapis lazuli and some bits of this remain. The length of the tweezer arm is 55mm and the collected weight of the four pieces is nearly 24 grammes. These uncleaned ancient partefacts are bound to be a bargain for one keen bidder and will be carefully packed for the second class post. Please have a look at other items I have listed. Normally these are not found with the pin intact.But you can see that the smaller brooch/fibula still has the pin. Guess what! It actually works. I only opened it once.being so old.Close to 2000 years,I didn't want to risk breaking it. You can see exactly how the pin works.Because the other fibula has no pin,and the first one will show you what the second one needs. This one has a pin with a spring coil at one end. But others work like a modern brooch where the pin simply moves just enough sideways to fit under a small lip at its point.
