CONDITION: Very good though bears evidence of a very neat. Professional repair. Minor scratches and scuffs consistent with use and then burial in soil. DETAIL: This is a very handsome. Complete second century A.D. Roman glass perfume bottle(or“unguentarium” which possesses a light iridescent burial patina with purple, pink, blue and green highlights. Most Roman glass vessels recovered complete(intact or repairable) are between 1½ and 3 inches in size– this one obviously exceeds the high end of this scale. However though complete, in a sense it is not intact. The glass perfume bottle was broken, whether in ancient times or perhaps when it was excavated, as there is a fairly clean break toward the bottom. The repair however seems to have been made with bitumen(tar) which would indicate that the repair was ancient. Some of the bitumen has been lost, so there is a small hole in the side of the bottle. But it appears to have been repaired and reused in ancient Rome– a rather uncommon find. Small jars. Pitchers, unguentariums, jugs, bottles, jars and flasks like this were used to contain aromatic oils, perfumes, medicinal ointments, and cosmetics. It is not to say that the Romans did not use larger pieces of glass on their tables such as bowls and cups; and even larger containers for transporting foodstuffs; because they did. In fact whatever the Romans had produced in clay in the first and second centuries B.C. was by the first and second centuries A.D. more common

For sale is a stunning antique art nouveau. Etruscan Revival style large pendant. It measures 3.5 x 5cm and weighs 16.21g on my scales. The pendant has no hallmarks that I can find, however it tests positive for silver and is in good used antique condition. The pendant was black when I purchased it, it has been cleaned with a silver cloth, however it would benefit from a silver dip. Uk customers may pay by paypal. Vintage Huge Etruscan Fob Charm Bracelet. Signed Coppola Parodi Italy. Heavy 80g
One look at this large-scale vintage Etruscan charm bracelet with its distinctive Deco fob charms and huge toggle clasp. And you know it's a Coppola Parodi even before you see the mark! These are so hard to find. The three huge fob charms with Deco details. Colorful cabochons. And airy openwork designs would be good enough. But the bracelet is superb. It's a heavy chunky rolo that's 1/2" wide. The clasp itself is just a hair under 1" in diameter- 15/16" in diameter. To be exact. The rod portion of the clasp carries the Coppola Parodi Italy mark. This weighs a whopping 80 grams on my digital kitchen scale. I honestly don't know the silver content of this. It's probably silverplated. But that is simply my guess. Note the rich patina from surface wear and oxidation. The bracelet measures about 8.5" long ... moreand fits like about an 8" bracelet due to the large diameter rolo links. It is classic Victorian Etruscan in rose gold filled with yellow gold accents. This beautiful bracelet distinguishes itself not only for the ornate fine detail. But also with the two small red stone accents. These stones I suspect are either small rubies or garnets. The bracelet features two center square mountings over the center hinge for those stones. I am not a certified jeweler and cannot guarantee what these stones are or that they are genuine. You are buying it that way- undetermined and as found condition from an estate. This gorgeous necklace features a beautiful huge. Etruscan style, coin pendant. On a wide collar. The pendant measures 3 3/4" long from the top center and the entire necklace is about 19" around. Each has a different shape, each is adorned with a different stone. Offered here is an incredible pair of Etruscan revival earrings. The settings and findings are all composed from a rich 14k yellow gold. As well as the attached French ear wires with hook closure. Each earring is bezel set with a hang carved shell cameo depicting a Greek gods riding chariots with beautiful hand craftsmanship in the scalloped bezel and pronged setting. Each earring measures approximately 3” long from the top of the ear wire to bottom of bezel. And 9/16” at their widest. The reverse of the bezel is stamped with 14k and the pair weighs 16.27dwt. In this highly collectible vintage Etruscan fob charm bracelet. A rare collection of sizzling red cabochons grab the eye and lead it to the handcrafted array of iconic Etruscan details that we seek. Note the tiny handcrafted florets, detailed ropelike twisted-wire cannetille adornments, fabulous filigree in the center fob, and detailed dimensional repousse' domes on the last 2 charms on the right. Here we have a wonderful sterling silver Etruscan medallion 5 chain chatelaine with assorted implements from John T. Vansant& Co. This sterling chatelaine is from the late Victorian/early Art Nouveau period of 1885-1895 and it was made by Vansant& Co of Phila. PA. The hand hammered chatelaine has two Etruscan medallion soldiers which are separated by the Greek word"Xapie" Depending on the context. Xapie translates to rejoice, be joyful, hail, greetings, welcome, goodbye, farewell or good morning. This large brooch style chatelaine has five graduating length chains with swivel catches each having an implement or charm. On the back is a long solid hinged bar pin and it is hallmarked with Vansant's mark of"V&Co" The horses, STERLING" and"11" Each swivel catch is marked"STERLING" and ... moretwo of the implements are marked"STERLING with the other three having tested as sterling. It is important to point out that these accouterments or charms may not be original to this chatelaine and are not marked Vansant. The following pieces are hanging from the chatelaine and are included in this auction: Miniature sterling repousse lidded stamp box with link hinge. Flower& bead motif and marked on the lip"STERLING" A coin or round charm hand chased with"Philonena" scrolling on one side and an in identifiable word(gunisrnn) with scrolling on the back.
