NEW W/TAGS 14kt.GOLD PENDENT ANCIENT ROMAN GOLD COIN/DIAMONDS CIRCA 50BC I have for sale a magnificent ANCIENT GREEK/ROMAN GOLD STATER. Minted in Koson, Thrace Circa: 50 years BEFORE CHRIST. It is EXTREMELY UNUSUAL to find ancient coins in this MINT state condition. Most coins in this condition can be found only in museums and in rare collections. This is a GENUINE antiquity. The worlds first coins were produced about 700 years BCE. Before Christ Existed) in Asia Minor. Silver and gold coins were struck in mints throughout the ancient world as the main system of exchange, currency) Bronze and sometimes silver coins were used for daily commerce in ... morethe marketplace, while larger silver and gold coins served as payment of larger debts and savings. The design of the earliest coins followed no set patterns. Animals, flowers and frequently deities were typical motifs. beginning in the first century, CE) a pattern developed which appears on most coins through-out the world: This coin started it's existence in this period. The description of this magnificent antiquity is as follows: OBVERSE: Three togate figures advancing left. The first and third each carrying an axe over left shoulder. Legend below: Koson in Greek letters(History shows this was minted in Greece for Rome) One of the earliest of Greek/Roman coins. It is thought that one of the three togate figures advancing left is L. Junius Brutus a Cousin of Marcus Junius Brutus. The man who murdered Julius Caesar. See Additional Description for this coin, last paragraph below. REVERSE: Eagle standing left on Roman Scepter holding wreath in one claw. It is clearly unusual to find a coin of this age in this uncirculated condition. With such detail, as these coins were struck by hand. If you can imagine a man holding a hammer in one hand and in the other a die and on

NOTES: Upon request we can set your gemstones as a ring. Pendant, or as earrings(click for more information) DETAIL: Ancient Mediterranean cultures(Greek. Roman, Persian, Celt) believed that a garnet could give its wearer guidance in the night, allowing them to see when others could not. Garnet was also worn for protection when traveling, as garnet was believed to warn the wearer of approaching danger. The ancient Greeks believed it guarded children from drowning, and it was also thought to be a potent antidote ... moreagainst poisons. The ancient Persians regarded garnet as a royal stone, and only royalty was allowed to possess the gemstone. According to ancient Hebrew mythology, a giant garnet provided interior lighting for Noah's Ark. It is also believed that garnet, described as“nopek” was one of the twelve gemstones described in the Bible in Exodus 28:17-20 as adorning Aaron’s breastplate, representing the twelve tribes of ancient Israel. Here is a gorgeously colored bright green demantoid garnet semi-precious gemstone. Hand crafted by a 19th century Russian artisan. Part of an heritage renown for the production of the elaborate gemstones and jewelry of the Czars of Medieval, Renaissance, and Victorian Russia. This particular gemstone was hand cut and faceted into a wonderfully sparkling oval of tremendous brilliance and flash. It is a quite beautiful cut. This gemstone has every bit the flash of a diamond, and is a hundred, even a thousand times more rare. In fact demantoid garnet is one of the rarest colored gemstones in the world, and the most highly valued garnet of all. Its dispersion and reflection indexes exceed that of a diamond, which is to say that its brillian

Authenticity guaranteed. The immense issues of coinage made in the name of Alexander the Great for a topic which could occupy the pages of a large volume. Obviously it is not possible. In a work of this scope, to do justice to such a subject. As in the case of Philip II, coinage in the name of Alexander continued long after the king's death. No doubt this was largely due to the lack of an effective successor to the imperial throne. Almost two decades ... morewere to elapse before Alexander's generals, his true successors, felt sufficiently secure to take the title of'king' and to issue coinage in their own names. Although he began his career as King of Macedon, Alexander spent only the first two years of his reign in his native kingdom, and by the time of his death, at the age of thirty three, he ruled a vast empire stretching from Greece to India. Consequently, his coinage was on an imperial scale, unlike those of his predecessors, and was struck at a multitude of mints in many lands, often replacing an existing autonomous series. nevertheless, the Macedonian mint of Amphipolis remained one of the principal sources of currency. In later ages(3rd-2nd century B.C. the types of Alexander's silver coinage were revived by various cities as they regained a measure of autonomy from the declining Hellenistic Monarchies. Popularly known to history as Alexander the Great. Mégas Aléxandros" was an Ancient Greek king( basileus) of Macedon. Born in 356 BC. Alexander succeeded his father Philip II of Macedon to the throne in 336 BC. And died in Bablyon in 323 BC at the age of 32. Alexander was one of the most su

Ancient Greek Coin TEOS IONIA SILVER DIOBOL Seated Griffin & Lyre RARE i1387
AUTHENTIC SILVER DIOBOL OF TEOS IONIA FROM 320- 294 BC. OBVERSE– Griffin seated right. Left forepaw raised REVERSE– Lyre Weight: 1.02 grams Size: 9.7 mm According to the ancient historians Teos was founded in the 9th Century BC by the Minyans coming from Orchomenus in Boeotia. Some other groups later came from various parts of Ionia and Athens and settled in this new city. Its outstanding position between two perfect harbors proved very advantageous to develop strong trade relations with other cities in the Aegean and the Mediterranean coastline. Towards the middle of the 7th Century BC Teos achieved a considerable amount of importance so much so that Thales of Miletus proposed it to be the political center of the Panionic League. However. This sensible idea was not adopted and, when the Persians invaded the region, this lack of common policy ... moreand strength brought about the downfall of the Ionians. Many of the citizens of Teos then set sail and founded the city of Abdera in Thrace. However, it seems quite probable that soon afterwards they returned as Teos supplied 17 ships to the Ionian fleet, which were wiped out by the Persians at the battle of Lade in 494 BC. With the arrival of Alexander the Great. Teos gained its freedom from Persian rule. Later it came under the rule of Antigonus and successively of Lysimachus who moved some of its citizens to the newly built city of Ephesus. Teos possessed the largest temple dedicated to Dionysus. The god of wine and creative powers of nature. As he was the patron deity of agriculture, drama, and theatre, it is no accident that in the 3C BC Teos was selected as the center of the Guild of the Artists of Dionysus. At the very beginning. The Teians were happy for the presence of these artists. However, after their artistic temperaments and arrogant behaviors started to cause endless troubles and quarrels, the members of the guild were forced to move first to Ephesus, getting worse there, their center was moved several times until they were finally settled at Lebedus.
