This is an authenic ancient strand of Egyptian faince munny beads. In 1956-1957 the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York City had an excess of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Which they sold thru the museum's gift shop. These beads were part of that disposal of beads. Mummy beads are delicate and perishable tubular faience beads. These are loose beads and are no longer strung as a necklace. The average size is 6mm x 3.5mm diameter, 150 beads on the 32 inch strand. The colors are tan, creme, pale green and grey. The condition is good with some corrosion and a nice surface patina. Please view pictures for details. If the beads were labeled with a dynasty, that information is no longer with the beads. Osiris and Isis as well as boat have areas of gold leaf which in turn have incuses showing details to give a 3D effect. The whole cartonage is painted in original. Maroon, black. They probably can be made into jewelry but from my photo you can obviously see that they show signs of their age and many are not in quite as good of condition that they were 2000 years ago.
