The shear scope and magnitude of this offering is unlike anything we have seen in over 20 years in the business. For display purposes. We have it set up with an all glass section on one side and another section that holds the cabinets with the drop down lids. As stated before, each item is interchangeable(including the base sections) and finished on each side. With the two corner cabinets, you could virtually line an entire room with teak or use sections in different rooms, the possibilities are endless. From the left side to the center of the corner along the glass wall is 204" long and from the right wall to the corner is 165" long. The rich amber finish on the unit is in very good condition, showing only slight wear consistent with age. The color along the entire unit is amazingly uniform. The solid cherry shelves are graduated, each flanked by turned columns on the right and left, these footed and capped with brass fittings beneath a brass finial. Neat Vintage Bookcase Bookshelf With Magazine - Newspaper Rack From England
This auction is for a neat vintage Bookcase- Bookshelf with Magazine- Newspaper storage on top from England. This is a cute item that would go in most rooms and most all types of decor. It has a Jacobean look to it with the Jacobean"dots" on the front of the storage area. It's well made. Still structurely sound and ready to set out and use as soon as it's un-packed. The type of wood it's made out of is a mystery to me. I thought it was mahogany, then I thought is was a type of Popular, but I can say this for sure, it's not oka or walnut. It has some nice wood grains on the side boards as you can tell in the pictures. It would add interest& charm to your den, family room or kitchen area. It has ample storage- display area for it's small size. In the family room, it would be nice for your book and magazine ... morestorage. It the kitchen, you could store your cook-books and also use it for a spice/jelly rack or display vintage kitchen items on the shelves. It would be a wonderful item for your bathroom for"reading material" as well a neat place to store your toiletries on. It cam from England and I would guess it's over 50 years old if not a lot older. Overall it's 16" wide. 6 1/2" deep on the sides and 36" tall. All of the shelves are"fixed" in place and do not adjust and each one is 15" wide. Each shelves are 6 7/8" deep. The distance between the top and second shelf is 7 1/2" and it's 9 1/2" between the second shelf and the bottom shelf. The magazine- newspaper storage area is also 15" wide. It's divided into two compartments. The front compartment is 2 3/4" X 15" wide and about 7 1/2" deep at the front. The back compartment is 3 1/4" X 15" and is about 10 3/4" deep at the front. It has a medium dark oak patina to it. It has some blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) to the shelves and sides as well as some nicks. The bookcase is in fairly good condition although the top section is missing its glass. Without the glass the door frame has some flex to it. But will be solid once the glass is replaced. It measures 51-1/4” high. 33” wide and 13-1/4” deep. The inside sections measure 10” high. 12-1/8” deep and 31” wide. The bottom section is a little taller than the other two and measures 12-1/4” high inside. This is from the quartersawn oak models(many of them had claw-footed bases and vertical veneer drawers) Very hard to find item. As you can see in photos. The label is embossed in the wood. I am not sure what letter size this is, but the dimensions seem to correspond with size D. Overall measures approx: 34" long x 12 2/16" deep x 3 2/16" high Underside frame that fits onto the case measures approx: 34" long x 11 1/2" deep As shown in photos. This is in used condition and has damage. The front profile looks very good for its age and should blend very well with well kept bookcases. The top veneer has damage with a hole in it, which could be covered with display items, ... moreor repaired. You could patch the hole on the over- or underside with something like luan, or you could do a more professional patch involving tiger oak veneer, etc. I am not a specialist so I am not sure all that is involved in that) This damage is reflected in the price and the item is being sold AS IS. I have shown extensive photos of the item including close ups of the damage so make sure to ask all questions because sales are final. Remember. Since this is the top of a bookshelf, you will likely rest items on it to cover imperfections, or it will be so high up that no one will see it. The rest of the top looks to be in normal used condition for its age. The top half shelves on the bookcase are adjustable and removable as is the bottom shelf. With the bottom shelf of the bookcase removed(as seen in first image) this would be a perfect TV/media storage center. The unit is in good/very good original condition. There are two large holes cut through the bottom of the bookcase and the top of the storage unit. Presumably to accommodate cords. However, these holes would be covered up entirely with whatever you chose to put on the bottom shelf of the bookcase, whether it be books or a TV. The stand was painted gold and has held up very well. It measures 24" tall by 25" long by 10" wide. It is a roller and the wheels are all present. This auction features this beautiful 4 shelf all metal Mid Century Bookcase in excellent condition! It measures 36 inches high x 36 inches wide x 9 inches deep and has a beautiful faux wood paint that looks like new; no wear. Cracks etc. The ends are brass and the piece is strong. It does not wobble and is straight; I took a picture on an angle so it kinda looks uneven but it is not. It will be taken apart; very easy to reassemble; the small rubber caps on the bottom of the piece are worn through; but are not necessary to the piece. The pictures were taken outside; the surface has such a beautiful finish that it picked up the shadows of the trees; there is no rust, no dullness on this beautiful piece! And lustrous fire appearance in the wood) and features birch veneered plywood on the shelf surfaces and interior divider. Very sturdy! Features two adjustable shelves, 3 drawers with original vintage hardware. Measures: 44" Wide x 52" High x 20" Deep. It does feature a few minor nicks and dings but nothing major on the back portion of the frame which could be sanded and repaired pretty easily. This barrister/ lawyer's case has a thick glass window that lifts and slides into the case. And and overall rugged and sturdy design that was built to last many decades of office abuse. It has a classic putty gray exterior finish and an olive drab green interior. I can't find a maker's stamp anywhere, only an old Georgia Power tag inside and a sticker designating it for the Engineering& Architecture dept. The glass door still slides and operates smoothly, and there are no dents or serious cosmetic damage. There is some rust on the underside of the cabinet, which can be seen in the last photo above.
