Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 3 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Original labels on the interior and nice leopard bands on the sides. Super finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13.5. 11.5, and two which are 9.5. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide, 12 deep, and 57.5 high. I don't think you will find a nicer four stack unit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. This is a fine pair of oak bookcases that would date to the c.early 1900's. They are each in the original found condition. The condition is great with no damage or repairs noted. The two cases each are comprised of two sides which fit together at a 90 degree angle to go into a corner(please see picture 4 and 5: the picture 5 shows a crack in the corner seam which is not there when properly connected together) The cases are fastened together with screws. Each bookcase has adjustable shelves. One of the units has sixteen(16) shelves while the other has ten(10) shelves. The cases are fastened together with the original screws. Vintage antique MATCHING pair quartered oak sliding door Danner bookcases-14555
I have sold a lot of Danner sliding door bookcases over the years but this is the first time I have ever had a matching pair of 3 stack cases. I believe these quartersawn oak cases have been together since leaving the factory in in Ohio in the early part of the 20th century. In super original condition-we have carefully waxed each section and they look truly beautiful with a smooth and even finish. All twelve of the sliding doors operate easily and all have their original(wavy) glass. Note the beading work along the top of each case. They all also contain their original adjustable oak shelves. This listing is for the beautiful antique Victorian golden oak sidebar/buffet/china cabinet one piece unit with 7 drawer s that I have pictured for you. We have used it in our home for many years as an entertainment center and bookshelves/doll display area. The drawers have been used to store DVDs. VHS tapes, books, DVD player, as well as other things. The unit is 79 inches wide at the top. The end panels extend out from the wall 17 inches. The shelf where the TV is placed is 23 inches wide and it bows out in the center(pictured for you) The TV pic tur ed is a 32 inch flat screen and allows for the opening of both bookcase doors. There are 4 applied trim pieces formed of plaster along the top of the unit and I have pictured each one for you so you can see where there is damage to 3 of them. The pulls on the drawers are original to the piece ... moreas are the two latches to the doors of the bookcases. The bookcase doors are each 50" high by 16 1/2" wide. Both bookcase doors have the original wavy glass. The back of both bookcase sections is wains cote oak as is the inside piece of each bookcase. kAs pictured. There are two shelves in each bookcase; there are two additional shelves stored in the bottom center drawer of the unit. Dimensions of the drawers follows: two are 11" by 17" three are 24 1/2" by 17" and two are 16 1/2" by 13 1/4" The bevel edge mirror is in an area 24 1/2" wide. There are small holes drilled at the back of this area to allow the wiring for the TV and the DVD player and the USB cord for the TV to be brought in from the backside. The center section shelf extends outward from the base display case 5 inches at each sides and approximately 7 inches in the center(due to the bowed design) The piece is very heavy and will require 2 men to remove it from our residence after the drawers and glass doors are removed from the unit. 4 Vintage Oak Barrister Lawyer's Global Wernicke Bookcases
Item Description: This is a handsome set of tiger oak stacking barrister lawyer's bookcases. They feature 4 stackable cabinets on a base. Measuring 54.5" Tall x 34" wide. The usable depth of each case is 8" This does not include the area in which the glass lies after it is closed. Each cabinet glass door conveniently slides inside when opening it. This set consists of three 10" tall and one 13" tall case. The top case includes the finished top edge of this system. It has a base that all of them sit on. I found the label on this base. They are strong and sturdy and are very convenient to have at either home or office. My knowledge of these bookcases is limited but the name on the bottom of stand says"Global Wernicke" They have a metal strapping on the sides which I think is decorative. We took the original ... morepictures before cleaning the glass. The second picture shows the top bookcase after cleaning. It's old glass with that wavy reflection. It's a used piece that has been in my family for over 60 years. Most likely was made in the early 1900's. The last copywright says 1900. They are in great condition for their age. Lovely pair of early 1900 barrister bookcases. Both are 72 inches tall. 34 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches deep. Both are grade 299 solid quartersawn oak and both have a desireable draw in the base. Both have bands and brass knobs on all sections and antique wavy glass. One top has extensive damage to it but cannot be seen because it is so tall. I took a photo of it. It could use to have the top part replaced but I left it alone. Backs are in good condition. All sections are labeled with the Globe wernicke labels. A great addition for a library or office. Paypal. This auction is for a beautiful set of 5 stack bookshelves made by the Globe-Wernicke Co in Cincinnati. Ohio. The set is in very good condition and each door opens and works very well. I bought the set about 20 years ago in an antique store so I don't know any actual history, but the hardware and small brass knobs on the doors seems to be original. Each door has beveled glass and the brass strappings on the ends are in good condition. There are labels from the manufacturer on the back wall of each shelf, some more faded than others due to age. The overall height, including the base, is 82 inches. Each case is 11 1/2 inches deep, 34 1/2 inches wide and is 13 1/2 inches high. The set is pictured in my home and as is evident in the photos. 7' Oak Bookcases for sale!
Up for auction are some oak bookcases. They are 7 feet tall. 35" wide and 13" deep. They all have 5 shelves(5 movable shelves plus the bottom, so 6) and are adjustable. I like them better than the Ikea ones because they are really sturdy and don't need a fixed center support shelf, so you are more flexible on where you want the shelves to be in the unit. We have four of them that we are selling. One of them has some minor water damage on the very bottom of it and one other has a damaged peg hole that we put a dowel in to fix. They are in good condition and we have already sold 2 of the six that we have. They are for local pickup only and we are in Sacramento, CA.All sales are final. They were made in Europe sometime around 1890 of solid oak. Today they remain in excellent condition with only two minor cosmetic issues that have been pictured. There is a small break to one of the mouldings and an age separation on one of the side panels. The pair is strong and will last for many years. There are slight differences between the two bookcases ... morethat are hard to notice unless you are looking for them. The left bookcase is slightly darker than the right. The carvings are also slightly different in spots which we have tried to captivate in the photos. However. These differences serve to make the bookcases more a unique pair than separate them. Both the upper doors and lower doors on the bookcases lock and there are four keys included. The wooden shelves in the upper sections are adjustable and quite strong. The bookcases break down into two parts each(top and bottom) for easier transporting. This is a rare French Renaissance style pair antique bookcases in carved oak. Both bookcases open to reveal large storage areas with shelves. The alligator brackets provide strong. Versatile shelf support. These carved columns differ slightly but complement each other very well. Again these carvings differ slightly. But together they look complete. This close up shows the level of detail in the intricate door carvings. The oak wood has a lovely patina and the hand carvings are very well done. Here’s an outstanding pair of matched size Globe Wernicke lawyer bookcases in beautifully figured quarter sawn oak. These are from my mother's estate. She bought these at a sale at an attorney’s office here in Michigan in the mid 60’s(I loaded them in my truck and delivered them to her home) Each stack measures 57 ½’ high. 34” wide, and 11” front to back. The top piece is 12 1/8” front to back) Labels in the left stack read– top to bottom– 108-299 ½. 110-299, D10 ¼-299, D10 ¼-299. Right Stack reads– 108-299 ½, 110-299, D 10 ¼-299, 10 ¼-299. These great bookcases are in my opinion very good condition. They’re probably close to 100 years old. So obviously there may be a few nicks or scuffs to be expected. The interior has wear and scuffs as would be expected from taking heavy law books in and out. All ... morehave the original wavy glass and I have cleaned and polished all the original brass knobs. The metal side bands are discolored– not sure what original color was– looks like it could have been a brass color metallic paint. Rare Pair Oak Leaded Glass Barrister 1/2 Stack Bookcases w/ Clawfeet
These Bookcases feature 4 stacks each with top and bottom. The bottom has claw feet with a drawer. They have leaded glass panels that operate good when opening and closing- they slide smooth. They are solid structure all of the sections fit nice and tight no wobble or shakeyness. They are unmarked. The finish has some aligatoring. The backs of the sections may have been replaced at one time or another although the outer wood looks to be original finish They are in excellent condition as shown in photos. We are not sure of the exact age on the bookcases there was not a Globe wernicke sticker or a Macey brand we could find. The bookcases came out of the Dr. Clark Wrather's Estate in Bokoma. Oklahoma. Up for bid is an extremely nice set of"Globe Wernicke" stackable Barrister bookcases and desk. Standing approximately 5' high as seen in the pictures. Each bookcase unit is 34" wide by 10-1/2" high. This set includes six bookcase units/sections, two drawer and feet sections, two top crown units/sections and a desk unit with key. The desk, hardly used is a bit stiff when laying the door or desktop open and flat, but it does lay flat with pressure while writing, say a note, letter or bill. Superb Pair of Large Antique Carved Oak French Bookcases
These are a superb pair of carved oak bookcase very large.There are carved lions heads and figures to the top with three doors. The base is also heavily carved with lions heads two drawers with the original brass handles and dovetail joints. Below are two doors again with brass handles with carved center doors. They sit on three square solid oak feet to the front. Amazing quality they also come in two parts so they are easy to move.
