BUY IT NOW - an awesome Maya Biface Dagger found in the New River area of Belize. It's very well made from patinated grey Colha chert, and measures 8 ... more3/4 inches long. This artifact has amazing form/symmetry, and is in beautiful, intact condition. Biface daggers are seen much less often than the uniface type, probably because they required more time to knap, and were for the same purpose. Dates in the Classic Maya period of 250-800AD. This is one of the best examples of this ancient Maya type that I've handled, and I guarantee it will stand out in your collection!

Amazing large INCA biface / two-faced copper effigy - with COA - Unique piece!
You are looking at a beautiful and important double sided(male and female) copper artifact from the Inca culture of the Late Horizon Period of Peru. The statue was made using the lost wax method around the 16th century. It is unusually large and heavy(16.5 cm high and 982 grams/ 2 pounds heavy) The lower body part is corroded from centuries of exposure to acids typically released in tombs but considering the age the statue is in overall good condition and shows a beautiful patina. The statue was brought to the US by Peruvian immigrants in the 1940s and is guaranteed to be genuine. It comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by a leading Florida art gallery specializing in pre-columbian art. Don't miss this opportunity to add this beautiful and unique item to your collection.

Rare Biface Mousterian Handaxe - France Bavaria Germany - Neanderthal Lithic!!
Full provenance given to winning bidder Ex: American collection) On offer: a guaranteed authentic Mousterian tool- Classic Biface Hand Axe; European Middle Paleolithic. Approx 250,000-40,000BP( 4 inches approx) With amazing flaking and a wonderful organic white patina caused by thousands of years of climate and exposure change. This is a very rare example! There is a notched area on the bottom that exposes the old original darker flint. A great sign to its authenticity. There is also a slight chip to the top of the axe, but there is patina developed there; so it is not a modern break but most likely happened Epoch's ago. Posted with

WOW!! awesome Aurignacien biface worked end scraper ca. 35 000BC
The Aurignacien in Europe the first wide spread European culture of modern man. Also known as Homo sapiens sapiens or Cro-Magnon man, is the Aurignacian. At a time of around 35 000 years ago hunters and gatherers were creating what is considered to be the oldest art known to mankind. When one encounters traces of our earliest ancestors in Europe, they are mostly in the form of tools or hunting artifacts made from animal bones, flint, or other such resistant materials. Bones from hunted animals are seldom found, and the discovery of human remains is an extremly rare occasion. The discovery of ice age artworks anywhere is also a very seldom occurrence. Hand axes made from flakes first appeared at the start ... moreof the Achelean period and became more common with time. Manufacturing a hand axe from a flake is actually easier than from a pebble, it is also quicker as flakes are more likely to be closer to the desired shape. This allows easier manipulation and fewer knaps are required to finish the tool, it is also easier to obtain straight edges. When analysing a hand axe made from a flake it should be remembered that its shape was predetermined(by use of the Levallois technique or Kombewa technique or similar) Notwithstanding this it is necessary to note tools characteristics: type of flake, heel, knap direction.

WOW!! splendid neanderthal biface hand point/Handspitze Mousterian ca. 50 000BC
The Neandertal was named after theologian Joachim Neander. Who lived nearby in Düsseldorf in the late 17th century. Neander" is a classicized form of the common German surname Neumann. In turn, Neanderthals were named after"Neander Valley" where the first Neanderthal remains were found. The term Neanderthal Man was coined in 1863 by Anglo-Irish geologist William King. From the period called"Mousterian" 150 000- 40 000 b.c. tools made of stone. Settlement sites and some parts of human skulls were found. Evidence for hunters and collectors in this period was found in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and other parts of Germany. Neanderthals are thought to have used tools of the Mousterian class. Which were often produced using soft hammer percussion, with hammers made of materials like bones, antlers, and wood, rather ... morethan hard hammer percussion, using stone hammers. A result of this is that their bone industry was relatively simple. However, there is good evidence that they routinely constructed a variety of stone implements. Neanderthal(Mousterian) tools most often consisted of sophisticated stone-flakes, task-specific hand axes, and spears. Many of these tools were very sharp. There is also good evidence that they used a lot of wood, objects which are unlikely to have been preserved until today.
