Antique Ansonia "Prism" Crystal Regulator Beautifully Restored from circa 1914!
Here we offer for your consideration a beautifully restored Ansonia Crystal Regulator called the"Prism" It is a genuine antique from circa 1914 and can be found on page 146 of noted authority Tran Duy Ly's"Ansonia Clocks and Watches" reference book. It features a visible escapement and four glass panels to clearly view the inner workings and pendulum swing of the clock. This is a beautiful example of the Prism in excellent condition. It's about a century old and has been used. It is not mint. There are a few little dents and faint scratches. But you won't find many examples in better mechanical and esthetic condition as this clock is right now. We believe that it is all original(including the key) with the exception of the two side glass panels. The originals were cracked and chipped. The two damaged glass ... morepanels were replaced with professionally done high quality. Custom fit and beveled reproductions of the originals. There is no visible difference between the original glass panels in the doors and the reproduction glass in the sides of the case. Please note that. As shown in the Dial close up photo, there is a very faint, short hairline crack in the porcelain enamel chapter ring near the 37 minute mark. The brass has been cleaned and polished to a near mirror finish and protected with a coat of nitrocellulose lacquer. The movement has been completely disassembled. Inspected, properly overhauled, cleaned, polished and, lubricated. The mainsprings were manually cleaned. Inspected, lubricated and tested. The brass and steel surfaces of the movement were either lacquered or waxed to help reduce eventual tarnishing and prevent corrosion. Slightly loose at the handles and the woven material is very brittle so tiny bits and pieces fall off it when you handle it not using the handles- hence there are some scattered losses that are not bad at all in the overall context of the piece. King Silver Trombone H.N. White Georgeous Antique Vintage Plays Beautifully
This trombone is beautiful and sounds great too! All original. I have only had the slide cleaned and adjusted(didn't need much) and the small dings taken out of the slide. The mouthpiece was cleaned at the same time. The horn does tend to tarnish, so a nice cloth is necessary to keep it shiny clean. If you notice in the photos I do not shine the bell a lot, but everywhere my hands touch! I have recently been playing it in a trombone festival, and as much as I love the sound and action, the grip is just a trifle too large for my hand. Because this trombone was made in the 1920's, serial number 051146, there is no locking joint nor slide lock- you hold it at all times(this is good practice and a habit I have anyway) Made by the H. N. White company in Cleveland, Ohio, it is in its original case with the original Equa-Tru 28 mouthpiece. ... moreThe case is original, with green corduroy lining and a faint musty odor. Only the middle latch works on the case, so I use an extra strap. The tuning slide moves freely. The slide has a wee bit of noise when you move it, but it sounds nearly the same as my old trombone. This is a beautiful antique pre-war Metal Western Electric 302 Telephone with cloth new cords. One of the cords is the new modular type line cord. These new cords should add on many more years of service to this phone. The phone has been totally gone over cleaned inside out and serviced. This is the good metal body phone not the plastic body type that there are so plentiful from back in the 40's and 50's. The Western Electric 302 telephone is probably the best telephone ever made as far as quality and durability. It has the Western Electric 5H dial properly serviced with the metropolitan porcelain plate with the numbers and letters perfectly clear. The Metal phone housing was completely striped of paint. There has been three coats of durable lacquer paint applied to the phones metal housing that closely resembles the old original ... morepaint. Its beautifully styled Western Electric F1 Bakelite handset is buffed. Highly polished and also looks good. The phone has almost all 1938 manufacturing dates inside. Its dial and handset units were replaced over the years. You will notice in the open phone photo it is wired neatly with the proper connecters to hold the cords in the phone. The feet of the telephone have been recovered to protect your furniture. Everything inside this phone is good and in great condition. Its bells have been cleaned not wire brushed or clear coated. You will find the ringer rings excellent exactly as they did years ago. This phone has given 75 years of service and will probably give 75 years more. It will bring back many warm memories and will be noticed by everyone who comes to your home. The phone is guaranteed to be in perfect working order and in great condition. It will always be a desired collectable and probably increase in value over the years. These phones make beautiful highly decorative display pieces for any home. OLD HAND FORGED FOOD CHOPPER 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE, PRIMITIVE BEAUTIFULLY MADE
This is a wonderful hand forged. Blacksmith made food chopper. The shaft and blade are all one piece of metal which went through the handle. The iron was then pounded down from the top of the handle to secure everything in place. What I love about this chopper is that it is not symmetrical. The handle is at an angle. Maybe it was intentional and maybe it wasn't. We will never know. But all the other choppers(of this configuration) that I've seen have handles that are pretty straight on horizontal with the blade. Also the way the shaft tapers at each end to form the blade and then to go up into the handle. Whoever made this chopper certainly knew what he was doing. This chopper is 6 3/4" wide and 6 3/4" tall. Vintage Antique 10' x 7' Beautifully Colorful Wool Floral Hook Rug Hand Knotted
For your consideration is this beautiful rectangular floral hand knotted hook rug. It measures approximately 10 feet. 9-1/2 inches long and 7 feet, 10 inches wide. I am not sure of age- would guess early to mid 20th Century. I love all the colors- blues, reds, greens-even some pink highlights, on an off-white background. I believe it is all hand knotted wool. CONDITION: The rug is in very good to excellent antique/vintage condition with extremely light/normal signs of use and or age. To me. I do not think the rug needs to be cleaned, but for someone else, they may wish to do so. I did see an extremely small faint stain on the top. There are no holes, rips, or major signs of wear. The lining on the back does have some tears in places. The last four images are of the back of the rug. Antique Beautifully Hand Embroidered and Stitched Crazy Quilt 1920 -71x82 inches
This is a very lovely old antique primitive'crazy' quilt. Circa 1920. It measures 71x82 inches, and is made of wool and muslin cotton. It has a wide variety of predominant colors. The batting is wool, and the back of the quilt is a floral print, mostly brown(with pink flowers) which is made of cotton. It is hand stitched and hand embroidered. An appraiser's description from 2011 reads as follows: There are a variety of sizes and shapes of patchwork blocks(of a variety of scrap fabrics) Which were stitched to muslin backing and then hand embroidered on the seams. Great variety of embroidery stitches in cotton embroidery thread and wool thread. The construction is overall very good. Back to front is hand closed. The inside has a nice Ruby colored velvet lining, which in a couple of places is peeling back around edges, may can glue back or leave just as it is. It has 4 feet on bottom with circle pads on each foot to protect your delicate surfaces. This is made of solid wood, it is still in very good condition with normal signs of aging, though expected with age. It measures 9"tall x 13.5"long x 8.5"wide x(top of box) 3.5"deep x(bottom of box) 4"deep. Has all brassware for the side handles, the insider bracket and the front closure clasp. I know next to nothing about linens but these 12 napkins were just too lovely to pass up. They measure about 13 1/2 x 13 1/2" and have a delicate design and squares of cut outs and the edges are cut out. There is a set of 12 and I looked over them and one has a faded yellowish stain which I mention for accuracy which possible could be laundered out(hopefully) The box is falling apart but says Nasib Bahout and C o. ANTIQUE GERMAN VIOLIN - beautifully preserved; wonderful sound!!!
1024x768 Beautiful vintage German violin- approx. 100+ years old. Probably of Saxon origin. It's one of several instruments that I bought from the estate of a German businessman. Who was active in the Czech border town Rumburk before the WW2(when it was situated in the so-called'Sudeten' border area between Czechoslovakia an Germany) I was told that he was selling vintage string instruments(mostly of German provenance) among other things, until he died just before the end of WW2. His family was displaced to Germany afterwards(within the forced mass displacement of German citizens after the war) While the instruments somehow found their way to the collection of a Czech amateur musician, who settled in Rumburk shortly after the war(and died about 15 years ago) This particular violin has probably remained untouched for quite a long ... moretime. It was very dirty when I bought it. Two pegs were missing completely, while one was broken, as well as the bridge. The bigger was my surprise(after some thorough cleaning) that the instrument had been preserved in a beautiful shape, without a single crack, with only one noticeable spot scratch on the top plate(see the 6th picture- bottom left corner) To summarize: the violin is in an outstanding condition for its age. There are no visible cracks in it. Just a few scratches(see above) The fittings are new. Including the bridge and the pegs. Both perfectly fitted by a master luthier recently. The instrument is very well built(see the nicely carved scroll and the precisely inlaid purfling. E.g. of some beautiful wood(again. See the evenly structured spruce of the top plate and the gently flamed back) The violin is ready to play. And its tone is very attractive indeed: mellow. Full-bodied. Well-balanced across the strings; the projection is very good. Too. Currently it is equipped with gut(core) strings, but experiments with different kinds of strings are encouraged to find the flavour that one prefers. These items that I am listing this evening have been packed away for too long.And sadly will never be put to good use by myself.I dare not bring any more dolls into the house so I am hoping that someone can put them to good use.This fifth garment is really pretty.It is I think a Christening cape.It is a really soft cream coloured cotton and is lined with ivory coloured silk and cotton.The embroidery is wonderful and looks to be hand done.I have tried to show the few problems in my photos,but nothing very major.There is a small mold mark on the back,and naughty Mr moth has left a few little holes.I wish that I was clever with a needle,as I am sure a little tlc would hide the little holes.Picture no.9,the little holes cannot be seen as under the first tier of the cape.The collar has embroidered leaves running all the way around and then the ... morecape itself is in two tiers.There are two ribbon ties left on the cape,but I think that at one time it would have had a bigger ribbon at the neck.sadly these used to shred with age.I hope that you can find time to view my other items as I am always happy to combine postage.I will try and measure the cape the best way that I can.It is approx 27cms around the neck,I have taken another measurement 19cms down from the neck where the ties are attached,and all the way across is approx 62cms,and around the hem right at the bottom it measures approx 182cms all the way across.The cape top layer measures approx 56cms and the cape length in total from the neck to the hem is approx 94cms.I have tried to describe the best that I can to avoid disappointment,but please contact me if I can give any more information.

The first separately printed map of Africa(as with the other known continents) appeared in Munster's Geographia from 1540 onwards and the first atlas devoted to Africa only was published in 1588 in Venice by Livio Sanuto. But the finest individual ... moremap of the century was that engraved on 8 sheets by Gastaldi, published in Venice in 1564. Apart from maps in sixteenth-century atlases generally there were also magnificent marine maps of 1596 by Jan van Linschoten(engraved by van Langrens) of the southern half of the continent with highly imaginative and decorative detail in the interior. In the next century there were many attractive maps including those of Mercator/Hondius(1606) Speed(1627) Blaeu(1 630) Visscher(1636) de Wit(c. 1670) All embellished with vignettes of harbours and principal towns and bordered with elaborate and colourful figures of their inhabitants, but the interior remained uncharted with the exception of that part of the continent known as Ethiopia, the name which was applied to a wide area including present-day Abyssinia. Here the legends of Prester John lingered on and, as so often happened in other remote parts of the world, the only certain knowledge of the region was provided by Jesuit missionaries.
