It was the Kayser company's aim. Through its use of the methods of mass production, to make artistically designed, contemporary stylish objects of daily use(such as candlesticks, ashtrays, lamps, beakers, vases, tea and coffee sets) accessible to a broad selection of the public. This elegant bowl was the creation of Hugo Leven- one the most famous and influential of Jugendstil designers. The design was created in 1905. Huge 32" Tall Antique Cuckoo Clock Swiss Music Box Beautifully Carved in Germany
Huge wooden carved Black Forest Cuckoo Clock with Swiss music box. 30 hour clock; On the hour and half hour. The bird sings and then the Swiss music box plays as the musician comes out the other door and plays. The clock is huge and requires an appropriate place to be displayed. It measures 32- 33" tall(bottom to top carvings) not including pendulum, is 22" wide and the deer's nose extends 15" out from the wall. Exceptional shape for such a pc. Appears to be from the 30's/ 40's; the maker's name is shown in the photos. Beautiful glass eyes on the animals. That's a full size CD case there to give you a size of the deer's head. All appears to be original including. There are no cracks or damage to the wood case. Nor to the movement and pendulum. The movement and music box work fine with very smooth operation ... moreof the bird and how the musician comes out and retreats back and doors close smooth with nice tight closure. However the two automated mechanisms need to be adjusted/ synced together: on the half hour- the bird sings and then the music box plays(the way I believe it is supposed to work) but on the hour- the music box starts before the bird finishes. Antique Reuge, Hand Carved, Music Rotating Bowl, plays and works beautifully.
This item is from the Reuge Music Box Company. It has a Swiss movement. The bowl has beautifully detailed carving. Note: This was long before CNC machines that have replaced the craftsmanship long behind us. It is almost perfect. But there is some very slight and tiny signs of wear on the finish on one small portion of the inside of the bowl(Not enough to show up in the photos, but I did try) The music movement plays a song that I can't identify. But it plays perfectly, and the bowl moves flawlessly to the song. In the second photo there is a very small mark along the edge of the bowl, so small that it will not show in the photo. Rare Early OWENS Large Antique Beautifully Shaped Glass Flask Whiskey Bottle with Cork You are bidding on a Rare Early Large Antique Beautifully Glass Whiskey Bottle with Cork. It is identified on the base with the original Owens Illinois Glass Company logo. The bottle measures about 9” 230 mm) tall. It is about 3 ½” wide and about 1 ½” thick. It has a nice flask design. The shoulders are nice and round and the neck transforms in to a nice spade shaped opening. There is virtually no wear and the bottle is in excellent chip. Crack, and flea bite free condition. A beautiful Holy water font, Some show of age. But in mint condition. The gilding is very nice. Especially with the thin red lining and small details. You can also see that there has been water in it for a long time. As can be seen. There are marks at the back. But nothing showing were it was manufactured. Truly a beautiful piece. Description: Beautiful Rose of Sharon quilt. The stitching is just gorgeous. It is done in both a wreath and grid stitch& with tiny straight stitches at an average of 11 SPI. I counted up to 13 at least once. Beautiful for decorating in shabby chic decor or for spring decorating. It measures 83-1/2 X 61-3/4. Condition: 2 of the roses on one applique are faded. But outside of those I don't see any others. As pictured there are some tiny tears in the fabrics both on the white and on the rose appliques, but most of them are fine. There is one rose applique that has popped and needs to be sewn back down. There are a few light stains. The binding is worn, but only the two ends. The outer edges are fine. There is toning which seems to be mainly at one end on both the top and back side of the quilt. There is some toning at the other end, ... morebut not as much. There is yellowing or toning to the fold line and some to the body of the quilt as well. There is a small pen mark and a small tan mark. The quilt is still very pretty and displays nicely. 1800's to early 1900's dress, beautifully detailed long antique dress
I have owned this lovely dress for at least 35 yrs. It has a one foot seam to mend a tear. On bottom back of skirt, and has a small tear on the back of bodice. It also has a worn tear under right arm, and needs a few buttons. It has a gray lined bodice and hemline is lined with an army green fabric, all very old. The front of bodice buttons up and has another bodice layer of pleats that cover buttons. A small ruffle around top of neck that was probably white, but now light gray. The back top of bodice has lots of tiny pleats, as does skirt. The back is longer than front of skirt, probably allowing for a bustle. The fabric feels like cotton with a sheen to it, and a black background with lots of tiny white flowers.

Beautiful antique uniquely grained solid maple presentation/jewelry box lined with burgundy/red velvet. Made in the mid 1800s with beautiful. Original solid brass hardware. Bottom of box has new felt feet. The high quality velvet used on the inside bottom was applied after the box was restored. The sides of the box are 5/16" thick and were assembled using a splined miter joint. The box measures 5 7/8" wide x 4 7/8" deep x 4 1/8" high. Inside dimensions are 5 1/4" wide x 4 1/4" deep x 3" high. Solid brass hinges and catch operates normally. Original deteriorated black. Crackled finish was removed and the piece was refinished inside and out with MinWax Satin Varnish and polished with 0000 steel wool and paste-wax to a soft luster. Excellent condition. For sale today is a very nicely restored smaller size antique humpback trunk and the restoration turned out very well. I found one patent date on the lid stay of May 1873 which makes this awesome old humpback a 110 to 130 years old- a true antique. This trunk was structurally sound when the restoration started and the metal bottom is in good solid condition. Has had multiple coats of clear applied and the three heavy duty original bottom slats.The trunk has the two original hinges which are fancy and tight and work well. There are 28 pieces of original polished hardware and has the original center lock which has been polished- no key. A new black leather lid lifter has been installed. Both the original mechanical latches are fancy, heavy duty, tight and one works poorly and one works well. There are 8 original solid oak slats in a golden ... moreoak color on the trunk. The interior has been removed and has a new custom built tray. The metal/tin is very good condition Still has the four original metal wheels on the bottom and the trunk rolls easily. Just looking at it is an awe inspiring sight. Even with the original bun feet missing it measures 94" wide x 90" tall x 28" deep. It does show from wear for its age. Which we have been told is late 19th century to early 20th century. It comes apart into 3 large pieces, to make easier to move. It has a large cabinet base with four elaborately carved base relief paneled doors ornamented with elaborate classical& mythical figures. The base has concealed drawers whose fronts are carved with panels of dolphin like figures. Columns with foliate capitals are set across the front, surmounted by drawers with carved faces or masks flanked with wings or draperies. ... moreLarger columns support a deep cornice fronted with carved panels ornamented with reclining nude figures. A solid paneled backboard is set with a bracket shelf with a carved apron and supports. Handmade, probably Continental origin, possibly German or Belgian. Characteristics of walnut. There are cracks along the grain lines of the cabinet top. It has 2 skeleton keys to open all drawers and cabinets. All this information in the above description was given to us by a local antique dealer who can out and researched the piece. It has been in the family I am selling it for over 50 years and maybe longer, but the kids did not remember it from their youth. This piece is being sold as local pickup only. Crosley started manufacturing radios in 1921 and right out of the gate their founder(Powel Crosley) proclaimed that their radios were the"model T's" of radios. Finding great success in the consumer market and proving that they could offer just as much as the big three(RCA. Antique Ansonia "Marquis" Crystal Regulator Beautifully Restored circa 1904!
Here we offer for your consideration an overhauled. Beautifully restored, sparkling clean and polished Ansonia Crystal Regulator called the"Marquis" It is a genuine antique from circa 1904 and can be found on page 146 of noted authority Tran Duy Ly's"Ansonia Clocks and Watches" reference book. It features a visible escapement with red ruby pallets and four glass panels to clearly view the inner workings and pendulum swing of the clock from all angles. This is a beautiful example of the Marquis in excellent condition. It is not mint but you won't find many examples in better condition than this clock is right now. The horizontal brass surfaces have been cleaned and polished and protected with a coat of nitrocellulose lacquer. The base acts as a mirror and gives an excellent view of the pendulum and movement from ... morebelow. The movement has been completely disassembled. Inspected, properly overhauled, cleaned, polished, waxed and lubricated. The mainsprings were manually cleaned. Inspected, lubricated and tested. The time train mainspring was replaced with a new high-quality steel spring. Only high quality materials and supplies were used in the servicing and restoration of this clock. Please note: T he back door glass panel is a professionally custom cut and beveled reproduction. There is no visible difference between the original glass in the case and the reproduction glass in the back door. All beveled glass panels are in excellent shape with no chips. Cracks or visible flaws. The winding key is a replacement. It is an Ansonia"Trade" Key which has been modified to allow easier adjustments to the regulator. Also note that. As shown in the Dial close up photo, there are hairline cracks in the porcelain enamel chapter ring on either side of the"XII" There are also some short hairline cracks radial to the winding holes and one very slight hairline in the porcelain centerpiece. There is a band around the pencil which pushes up and down to propel the lead in and out, which works as it should. The pencil is in very good condition, I can't see any knocks or dings in the metal.
