This is a gilt bronze hunting dog standing on his prey which I am assuming is a quail. It is unmarked but got at a auction that had all kinds of Vienna Bronze pieces and I think this piece is unmarked which happens not to be uncommon. The piece is quite weighty for being so small he weighs 8.5 ounces. It measures 4 inches long and is 2 inches high at its highest point. He is highly detailed and in great condition.

A fine example of a c.1900's antique Lapplander's knife and scabbard. This is a rarely encountered C.1900's antique Lapplander's knife with a distinctive curved scabbard. Both scabbard and knife hilt appear to be mounted in some kind of animal tooth or perhaps bone. With incised decoration to the bottom of the hilt that is bound with leather. As is the scabbard. The blade is short and wide, with a central rib. These knives would have had a range of uses and used for hunting, skinning and general purposes. A very nice little mid to late 19th century European. Probably Swedish, pressed birch bark snuff box with a stag and hunting dog scene on the hinged lid. It measures 3-1/2” w. x 1-7/8” d. x 1” h. The lid has a bit of damage on the left hinge side and the top comes off the other side because that left side is broken. Still a nice old box.

Circa 1860-1870, but please make up your own mind about this. The bag measures approx 5 inches(130mm) wide. By 6 3/4 inches(170mm) tall and is covered all over with a beautiful beadwork designs. There is a STAG HUNTING scene on one side. And a DOG SITTING BY A COTTAGE on the other. It is in very good original condition with very light wear consistent with its great age. But no major damage or repairs. There are a couple of small flaws to the crotched border around the top. see photos) but other than this it is sound, and none of the beads are missing. Large Heavy coffin handled Bowie old vintage antique hunting fighting knife
You're bidding on a hand made heavy Bowie knife. The OAL is 15 1/4" and the carbon steel blade is 9 1/2" long. The blade is very thick and heavy. It has no nicks. Gings, rust or pitting. Just the patina that comes from age. It has a thick brass bolster and 3 brass pins in the handle. A hammered silver cross is on the guard. The coffin handle appears to be a black micarta material like on Buck knives. On the blade an eagle emblem is embossed. I'm not sure what it means. This knife is very heavy- it feels indestructable! Here we have a RARE find and that would be an older hunting knife that has a poured pewter bolster as well as pewter inlays of stars and acorns in it's hickory handle. Knife measures about 10 inch overall with 5 inch of that being the blade.This style of knife dates from the mid 1800s and was popular with hunters and others during the muzzleloader era. and many were made by rifle makers themselves.This example is in VERY GOOD condition. Blade has been sharpend some and has some light scratches on the edge, also some staining and light frekling but nothing heavy or that really detracts. Handle is fine with no damage. Comes with it's beautiful original leather sheath which is fine, no damage to the leather and stiching is fine. Tube type Sheath is very well made. This wonderful black forest carving is an antique letter or newspap er holder mea nt for han ging on the wall by the door. The front of the piece is a beautiful car ving of a hunting dog or pointer i n fro nt of a fen ce. The dog has a glass eye. The back measures 14" x 9" The hinges are original. There is a piece of roping that looks like it may have been added at some point it is easily removed. The carving is very well done and quite attractive. There is some wear on th e wood and some discolo r ation on the pla que on the back of the piece but the overall patina is per fect. There is a marking"X AMS 1938" on the back in pen. We think this piece well pre-dates 1938. We think this may have been given as a Christmas(XMAS) gift in 1938 to someone who may have admired this wonderful antique carving.
