This auction is for this beautiful copper clad pewter trophy cup(with cover) that is decorated with a hunting motif of an oak tree. Oak leaves, and acorns. It also has the head of St. Hubertus(patron Saint of Hunting) as well as the words, Sanctus Hubertus" written on the cup. All the decor is in relief. The bottom of the cup is hallmarked and tells us that is was made in Germany c.1900, by the famous Orivit company that was well known for their Art Nouveau design. It also has the stock number 2181 in the bottom of the cup. The small bottom rim is slightly unevern with some dents, and there is a spot along the top rim with a bit of loss to the copper cladding. otherwise in good condition with a nice patina. Interior has some staining. It measures 5.5" high(without the cover on) top diameter is 3 and 3/4" and bottom diameter ... moreis 2 and 3/4" Amongst other manufacturers of art nouveau objects for everyday use the German company Orivit of Cologne. Founded in 1895, stands out. No other firm produced as many lovely designs in so short a time. The company was founded in 1895 by Ferdinand Hobert Schmitz who had purchased a pre-existing bronze and metal work firm near Cologne, Germany. In 1898 the word Orivit was listed as a trademark referring to a new luxury pewter line and Orivit items won acclaim garnering a gold medal at the Paris World Exposition of 1900. In 1900 the name of Schmitz's firm was changed to Orivit. The firm employed the revolutionary Huber press which evidently allowed metal to be pressed into the desired form using a highly pressurized system. Both Hermann Gradl and Georges Charles Coudray are known to have designed pieces for Orivit. Theo Blum. Georg Graseggar, Walter Scherf, Vicor Heinrich Seifert, and Johann Christian Kroner are also known to have been associated with the company. Orivit products were produced for domestic trade in Germany and sold abroad. In England Orivit was sold by the famous firm Liberty and objects marked"made in Germany" likely made their way

Antique European Heavy Pewter Tankard/Stein Embossed with Hunting Scene
This is a very old tankard. Most likely dating to 19th century, perhaps even earlier. It is made of very heavy and thick metal which I believe to be pewter and the surface is embossed with hunting scenes featuring hunters and dogs and this appears to have been done by hand. From what I have been told this tankard originally came from Europe. It is definitely quite unusual and it is obvious that it had been well used over the hundred years of its existence and there are signs of use. Marked with some kind of maker's mark or hallmark on the bottom but cannot decipher it. Please look at all the pictures to judge the condition. Vintage antique victorian early 1900s brooch with a stag. Oak leaf, and cross. Has the old style"C" clasp on the back. The pin is silver tone in color, and the cross has a gold gilding on it. I suspect this brooch depicts a"german" coat of arms of some type, or is a German hunting pin. In good used vintage condition with some darkening of the metal, and one antler is bent more than the other. The tip of the pin on the back is also bent up a bit. Measures 1 1/4" wide. This is a vintage knife and I believe this has a steel blade and it has what appears to be a smooth beveled horn handle with a brass ferrule. I bought this at an estate sale and I don't know much about its origin. Age, etc. Condition: This knife is in good to good vintage condition with some rust on the blade and overall wear but nothing appears broken. There are no chips or cracks on the handle. Unusual Small Carved Wood Bear Fetish Figure with blue bead eyes. I got a few interesting ethnographic pieces at an estate sale in Berkeley. CA. This little figure was among them. I don't know much about these types of pieces. It looks really old however, and shows considerable wear, on the wood with raised grain, the wood is very dry and lightweight. There's a hole through it side to side The fetish is.75" tall X.58" wide X 1.25" long. I think this is representative of an Bear but it could be some other animal. Good Condition. GENUINE Antique Yanomami Hunting Bow. From Early 1950s Amazon Expedition
This beautifully crafted and preserved Yanomami Hunting Bow was brought back from one of the earliest 1950s expeditions into the Amazon Rainforest to make contact with the previously unknown Yanomami tribe. It was presented to a friend& colleague of my father by a Yanomami tribal elder. This friend I knew as'Uncle George' He was of Venezuelan/English parents and after the 2nd World War went back to South America to work as chief expedition engineer for the newly formed Brazilian Indian Protection Service who were just beginning to make first contact with the previously undiscovered Yanomami tribespeople in the Amazon Rainforest. I recall the stories he told on his rare visits to our home. I would sit wide-eyed as he described the jungles. The wild animals and even wilder tribespeople with their poisoned arrows, blow-darts and ... morepierced noses! The last time I ever saw him was in about 1963 or'64 when he came to the house with a mysteriously long package wrapped in dried grasses& tied with string. He stayed for tea and I recall the sly smiles he gave me as he held this fascinating item in his hands. I kept wanting to ask him what it was but I got warning looks from my mother- children still being'seen& not heard' in those days! As he stood to leave he turned to me& said"This is for you. It was given to me by a tribal elder of the Yanomami village, in exchange for some iron tools when I was camp engineer on the first expedition. The tribesman said he had'killed many enemies' with it and I thought you would like to have it? I looked at my mother and I was almost in tears. As I was so afraid she would say that I couldn't keep it! Anyway. That's where this amazing object came from. He also said that it was very old. Having been passed down through the tribe from father to son for generations. The grass wrappings got tatty and were thrown away at some point during the years it spent in my fathers attic. Massive early 19th century Prussian hunting hanger in its original scabbard. Superb hilt with a bullgod head pommel and the crossguard made in the form of a twin boar heads. The blade is etched with foliate scrolls and hunting motiffs. Significant pitting affects lower part of the blade. Small pieces of leather are missing on the scabbard. No maker markings can be seen on the open part of the blade(about 1 cm of its length is hidden under the crossguard and can not be seen) The blade is about 58 cm long. Overall length– 76 cm.

There is a presentation on the cuvette. The watch was made in 1867 and is complete missing one plate screw. The model 1857 key wind/key set watch started running when wound, but only runs for a short while in dial up. It has been sitting for over 30 years and very gummy. It is jeweled on the top plate so it has a min. of 11 jewels. The dial is fine with no visible chips or hairlines. Everything looks all original on this watch including the hands. Original Antique Indo- Persian Mughal Islamic Miniature Painting Hunting 19th C
This auction is for an original antique Indo-Persian miniature gouache painting on parchment of a traditional hunting scene. Very fine work in top condition. As you can see from the photos. The back of the parchment is covered with Arabic script and the parchment is significantly larger than the aperture of the mount at the front of the picture. I have carefully lifted one corner to have a peek and there is a wider blue border to the painting than is displayed but I have not ventured to remove the parchment in case I damage it. The painting is housed in a modern frame and someone(not me. Erm, cough) thought a horrific blue coloured mount would add to the picture. Fortunately frames and mounts are easily changed. This painting would benefit from a simple frame and an acid free cotton mount to assist in preserving it. The overall dimensions ... moreof the frame are 23.5 by 28.5 cm approx. Antique Victorian Fringed Damask Towel With Hunting Dog Motif Here is a wonderful exceptional estate find! Man's best friend is featured on this later Victorian towel. Damask linen in a natural color with the dog printed in Indigo blue. Certainly another plus is the towel has never been used. Lovingly stored away only to surface recently. The pattern of the damask is in a flora and fern pattern with lovely scroll work surrounding the head of the dog. Dog and fringe appear on both ends of the towel. Even a bit of the original paper label is still stuck to the towel. You might find some oxidation marks otherwise immaculate. Size is 39" long including the 2-1/2" fringe on either end. 19" wide.
