The entire clock is hand carved solid walnut including the dial. I have overhauled the movement which is the original French 8 day time and strike, and cleaned and waxed the case. I am a professional clocksmith of merit with 42 years experience. The clock works strikes the hours and half hours on a silver bell correctly and is properly and professionally adjusted for years of trouble free service. I use a very high grade clock oil which remains active for many years so it will not need oiling for at least 5 years or more. The clock has been tested for 30 days and is ready for a new home. Description: Here is a rare. Antique bamboo quiver or food carrier. I am not sure which since it is long(35” for carrying arrows. I have been told it could have been used to carry food for a tribal hunting expedition, which seems more likely. The wood has a great patina. It has old original leather wraps(which have become loose fitting over time) and rope shoulder strap. It has a removable leather cap which secures the food or weapons. I found this at an estate sale and it looked interesting so I grabbed it. I don't know anything about it. Year, what it's used for, etc. I found similar pictures online and those horns were called hunting horns- not sure if it's the same thing. The two rings that a rope could be fashioned to are still intact and not broken. I took a bunch of pictures and you can see that there are imperfections. Antique Hunting Dog Weathervane/circa 1900-1920
This is a really sweet. Antique sheet iron weathervane of a hunting dog. I would say it dates to the early 1900s- 1900 to 1920 or so. It could even be earlier. I don't see any evidence of old paint, so I assume this is the original, now quite weathered, surface. There is a rod that extends forward on the mounting fixture. I don't know what that was for but the end of it is through the mounting piece and seems to have a finished end nib where it come out the other side, indicating to me that it is not broken, and meant only to extend forward. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the directionals. Overall the vane is 27" long, including the rod. It is 14&1/2" high from the end of the mounting pole to the top of the dog's head. From the tip of the dog's nose to the end of the base it sits on is about 17. The mounting ... morepole is 6" long and is attached to the base with a single old rivit. Condition of the vane is as found and as shown. There is an old break where the front foot meets the base(see pictures) I believe it's an easy fix- a quick weld will do the trick. The edges of the iron are beautifully smooth- indicating excellent age and exposure to the elements. I guarantee this is not a fake or recent reproduction and will take it back if the buyer is not satisfied that it is right. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a genuine antique vane from the the first part of the 20th century. Please look at all my photos for the best idea of condition. US ship only. For your consideration is this Vintage West German REGULA Cuckoo Clock. The clock comes complete with pendulum and weights. The clock is very highly detailed. It features a deer head with antlers with 2 guns crossed under it. It also features a rabbit and a bird The movement is in great shape and is stamped"REGULA" MADE IN WEST GERMANY" 25" and"AUGUST SCHWER" The clock unusually large and measures about 24" long not including the pendulum and about 14 1/2" wide and 11" deep. Most clocks of this nature only measure 10" 15" inches long where as this one is 10 inches larger. This clock is in overall good shape for its age however I am selling it for parts or repair. Defects include that the bellows look shot and the bellows and bird are not hooked up to the movement. The movement needs secured ... moreas the wood mounts have become unglued and is missing one screw. Also the rabbit and horn have become unglued and need glued back on. The rabbit looks to have had his tail glued bock together. The back door does not seem to fit inside properly and will need adjusted. Although this clocks has a few defects they are actually very minor and could be fixed rather easily I just do not have the time for it. Don't let this great unusually large clock get away from you. This is a genuine malaysian set of bow and arrows. And blowgun. Arrows have rack to be kept on wall for display. 15 meticulously hand painted natural reed, tipped with metal foil sharply shaped into a narrow cone at the end of the arrow. Bow is either bamboo or a light wood of sorts, very light, wrapped in rattan. Takedown bow. 2 quivers. Two types of blowgun darts. Some wood(or the spine of a leaf, as was often done) cotton wadding. Originally, almost certainly poisoned. Some have metal tips. Others are heavier, shorter, slugs. Nice set. Kept together because they were all brought back by the same person at the same time. It has been carefullty boxed for the last 20 years and certainly deserves to be displayed and enjoyed! We have run the clock now for a few weeks and all parts are operational and functioning perfectly. this is an August Schwer designed Cuckoo Clock Cuckoo Clock with 8-day movement/ running time(mechanical) This clock is a very fine carving model with one of the classic clock themes. This is a hunting clock. All over the clock you will find elements of the hunt. Centrally on top of the roof is the deer head. Framed by two rifles adorning the roof of the clock. To the right and left of the dial are the hunted animals, in this case a hare and a pheasant. Framing the dial is a hunting horn, with its horn right under the dial ... moreand just above the powder pouch. Wooden dial. Hands, cuckoo, pendulum. size: 23 1/2 inches tall with deer antlers(19 inches without antlers) 11 1/2 inches wide, 9 1/4 inches deep; 2 x 1260g weights shaped as pine cones, color: walnut high quality Regula movement night shut-off. Inside in the works is stamped Made in West Germany. And Regula. This clock has a very cheerful bird. Which sings to you every half-hour– once on the half hour and strikes the number of the hours on the hour with cuckoos and a gong strike. When the cuckoo sings it pops out of its house, smiles at you while singing, and jumps back in and slams the door! Also you can see the original fancy pendulum swing with each passing second. The weights are very large– making this cuckoo clock run 8 full days! The case, dial, movement are in superior condition and the clock runs perfectly. This clock will be packed very carefully. Silver plate collar. Shaft is platied gut covered.Antler handle.Replaced leather end.Exalant condition and useable. The antler handler is in perfect condition and looks very nice. The whip is in exelant condition and 100% usable. The antler is 14.cm long The shaft is 54.cm long The leather end is 16.cm
