This is a piece I bought from another Arabian Horse art collector. Th i s is a large original ... moreprint of the famous German painter from the 1 860's named Adolph Schreyer. Adolph Schreyer traveled to the Arabian desert to live with the bedouin's and their horses and to capture their life in his paintings. His work has been reprinted thr ough the years. In 1 893 at the Chicago World's fair the promoters brought in a group of Arabian h orses for entertainment. These were horses that everyone desired but were not often able to be bought or tak en from the desert so it was a thrill to see real Arabian horses. This created an interest in the desert life during the Art Nouveau period and these painting were revived again and reprinted. This is one of those prints made between 1900-1907. This was purchased by the other collector in 1952. I am the third owner. This is a group of Bedouins out on the hunt. They are riding Arabian Horses and are d epicted in their native garb as Schreyer observed. The dark bay horse in the front is obvious a stallion. He wants to lead the herd. When the Bedouins went on a raid to a neighboring tribe they always rode mares because the mares were quiet and would allow them to sneak up on the other camp. A stallion tends to call out to see if there are any mare available so they were used for hunting. You can see the strokes of the brush in th e print. It's a little faded although this picture was do ne towards dusk in the original. I've b een collecting for 40 years and I' ve never seen a print this big. This has been professionally framed. It's been in storage because I don't have as much wall space as I once had and I have an extensive collection of art work. The frame measures 17 1/2" x 21 1/2" This will be shipped with insurance.

The photos show how the shell is placed in the device. It is made mostly of cast iron with wooden handles. Take a good look at the handles paint is missing. Some oxidation is also noted on the metal areas. It also has some brass components. Very nice patina can be appreciated. The crimper is a very good example of hunting history and will display well in your collection. Items like this that were used by early shot gun owners to reload there own shells. Antique Art Nouveau Bronze Letter Opener w/ Hunting Dog - Signed
Lovely letter opener made from cast bronze featuring an image of a hunting dog in pursuit of its quarry. Not certain of an exact date of origin. But I believe it to have originated in the 1880s. The opener's reverse bears a maker's signature of the initials"HK" though I do not know to which maker these correspond. The opener shows some wear from use but is largely in good condition with no cracks or structural damage. It measures approximately 8.25" in length and 1.25" in width at its widest point. Antique Civil War Era Copper & Brass Shot Flask Hunting Hare Dixon Sons c1860s
You are viewing an antique copper and brass black powder flask. It was made by the Sheffield. England firm of Dixon and Sons and is stamped by them on the brass mounts of the flask. The stamped design is of a hare among a floral design. I would estimate it was made some time around 1860 to 1870. The flask measures approximately 7 1/2 inches in length. Vtg Antique 1921 Sears Roebuck Department Store Catalog Tools Farm Hunting Toy
Up for bid is an antique catalog for Sears. Roebuck and Company. The catalog dates to 1921 and is fascinating to look thru! There are over 1200 pages and some of them are in color. The catalog has seen better days though. The cover is ripped and some of the binding is coming apart. There are a few loose pages and I am not sure if all the pages are there. It also looks like maybe on the bottom part is had some water damage? It also smells a little musty to me. Most of the pages are intact though. It measures 8 x 11 and is 2 inches in depth. It has everything from baby jewelry to bicycles to farm equipment. I really enjoyed looking thru it to see the advertising and prices from 1921. Doulton Lambeth Rare Dog Handle Hunting Pitcher Antique English 6 3/4" tall
This is a lovely fine English pitcher. From the 1800's with applied figures. Around the plumpest part of the belly are horses, hunting scenes and dogs. The deep red iron oxide glaze glows orangy brown on the yellow clay of the stoneware body, while it changes to a nice ochre where the dip covered the figural decoration. The rare handle is applied, and is a wonderfully formed hunting dog. Condition of this beautiful pitcher is good with one small chip on the lip. And firing lines where the spout is joined which is typical in the manufacture of these pieces. The mark is"Doulton Lambeth England" This lovely English pitcher measures about 6 3/4" tall and about 71/2" wide. It probably dates from the first half of the 19th century. It has a very long blade, this was probably a Jaeger military piece. The sword is 26 inches long with a 21 inches blade. A very interesting feature is the lamination visible on the blade, please see pictures. There are some nicks and some pieces missing from the hilt. A nice piece.
