The goblet has a large teardrop and wafer stem with a circular foot. And this particular type of goblet is referred to as a pokel or Gesundheitsglas. The goblet has a remarkable cut glass hunt scene with a stag and doe on one side, and a hound chasing a rabbit on the other. The scene displays various rocks, grass, and trees with birds flying in the sky as well. The goblet stands about 6 5/8" tall and the bottom has a reference number in ink indicating that this was once part of either a museum or private collection. Antique Chinese Lacquered Wood Folding Fan This stunning 19th century large Chinese fan features an elaborate hand-painted Manchu hunting scene. Complete with archers on horseback, walking and running men with spears, servants carrying killed animals, and Chinese royalty riding a white horse while a servant shieldis him with a parasol. A snowcapped mountain can be seen in the background, along with deer, rabbits, boar, brown rocks, green trees, and boughs of white blossoms. Story of a thousand words. The vellum leaf is hand painted with a brown border and silver foil edging along the top. The ribs are lacquered black with intricate chinoiserie detail. Old Used Vintage Antique ~ CASE'S TESTED XX ~ Fixed Bl. Hunting Knife w/Sheath
This is a nice old used collectable CASE's TESTED XX knife. The blade has been re-sharpened some over time. It has pitting and it is sharp! The awesome black handle has no cracks or breaks or bad scratches in it. It is tight fitted to the blade with no movement. The pommel is tight on the end. The thumb guard is partly worn off on the cutter edge end of it. I took picture to try to show it. The blade is 4 3/4" long from the guard to the tip. Total length of knife is 9" long. The black leather sheath has no cuts or tears in it.Threading is not torn and all 4 rivets are tight. I kind of doubt if this is an original sheath for this knife but it fits like a glove. Antique c. 1820 English Staffordshire Soft Paste Pitcher w/ Deer Hunting Scene
This somewhat large(not a small cream pitcher or a syrup pitcher) pink luster-painted porcelain jug from England. It probably dates back to around 1820. Its height at spout 6 5/8" Width from handle to spout 6 1/2" depth at belly 4 3/8" It is unmarked except for two letters or numbers on the base, hard to read but might say"85" and I don't know the meaning of the mark. This is what is called Staffordshire soft paste pottery, and typical of Staffordshire it depicts a country scene on each side. One side features two deer resting under a tree and the other side features a deer being hunted down by 2 dogs. There are green leaves and pink lustre branches accenting the raised pattern around the edges and the handle is shaped like a branch. The colors in the hand painted design are still very clear and bright but there ... moreare spots where the green paint on some of the leaves and especially the brown paint on some flowers on the bodies of the deer have worn away due to age. There is hardly if any other usage wear and there are no chips, breaks, or repairs. There is crazing on the inside of the rim and there is one crazing line darker than others, sort of looks like a hairline but doesn't show on front of pitcher so unsure. Antique Ceramic English Creamware Pottery Tea Pot painted in enamel colors; on one side with a red-roofed house. Fence, trees and corn husks and on the other with a farmer walking with his rifle and with the red-roofed house in the background. The spout is molded at the base with acanthus leaves and the loop handle is ribbed. We attribute the Tea Pot to Wedgwood. Because of the pierced globe-knob(see Donald Towner, Creamware" pg. 207, fig 3) the use of which was typical of those found on Wedgwood pots and also because of the enameling which can be identified as the work of David Rhodes. The treatment of details and the colors used, red, black, green, rosy purple and yellow, in decorating this Tea Pot are both typical of Rhodes' work(see Donald Towner, Creamware" pg. 54 and"Creamware and other English Pottery at Temple Newsam ... moreHouse, Leeds" pg. 170) CONDITION: The tip of the spout was restored. Made in Massachusetts by the Lamson& Goodnow Manufacturing Company in their legendary Shelbourne Falls Works. This is one of the company's most iconic designs, a sawback fisherman's knife with tube sheath that was made in the early-mid 20th Century. It combines a carbon steel, straight-edge blade with a clipped point and serrated sawback edge on its top that is perfect for sawing through fish bones or for scaling. Both were most often albumen prints; the primary difference being the cabinet card was larger and usually included extensive logos and information on the reverse side of the card to advertise the photographer’s services. However, later into its popularity, other types of papers began to replace the albumen process. Despite the similarity, the cabinet card format was initially used for landscape views before it was adopted for ... moreportraiture. I have had many collections over the years.below you see 1 from another collection.these are all WAX SEAL mouldings and some are very old being Medieval in date.some of these ... moreseals may never have been moulded before so the MUSEUMS& SCHOLARS amongst you may be interested in them. they are of course of interest to the modern day collector too as you will not be able to find such items now.some of these are very large being up to 8 inch dia which I have never even seen myself.the original seals they were taken from may have long since been destroyed in any number of natural disasters as well as the 2 world wars we have had. these MAY be the only surviving mouldings from these GREAT SEALS.original seals are made of wax and can be various colours are found on Royal Warrants. Rare antique bone china Copeland Spode hunting scene mug named"Gone Away" Made from the original drawings by John Frederick Herring I who was commissioned by W.T. Copeland in the late 1830's to 1840's. The drawings are owned by the Copeland family. This mug dates to ca 1920. It measures approximately 5" in height. It is in excellent condition. Japy Freres Huge and Stunning Gilt Brass Cartel Wall Clock ~ Hunting ~ Antique French- Circa 1890 ~. ~~ Excellent condition. Fully overhauled and running ~~. A magnificent and rare gilded brass cartel clock. Very finely detailed and in excellent condition. It is in the style of Black Forest carved wood examples, but is beautifully modelled in gilded brass. The original gilding remains which is in lovely bright and clean condition. It features a hunting dog to one side of the dial, a fox to the other, a wild boar below, and above the dial is a hunting trophy deer head with antlers. The large dial is also gilded brass and is mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouche letters. The bezel has a hobnail edge and bevelled glass. This is a large and heavy clock that will require a substantial screw or spike to support it. The French movement is ... moreby Japy Freres and has the clockmakers mark on the movement backplate. It is the more unusual Japy Freres design with pin-pallet escapement. Rack strike and large detachable barrels within a split, shaped backplate. It is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. antique handmade cut crystal glass 0.3L pewter German stein mug cup hunting dog
this is a stunning antique handmade German glass or crystal and pewter lidded stein. it has a nice ornate pewter top that opens on a hinge that connects to the handle. inside the pewter top is a raised emblem that has the engraved initials"GTM" and in the back its engraved 0.3L the handle also has a nice design. the actual stein has 7 cut sides in the front with a rare rounded back. there is an exquisite dog hunting bird scene on the face surrounded by nice foliage. it was a bit hard to photograph but very well cut. And done by hand. it measures 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. there is a chip at the bottom on the opposite side of the handle.
