ANTIQUE 1930'S ART TILE -THE AMERICAN ENCAUSTIC TILE COMPANY- SIGNED E S M
I have a framed antique hand painted art tile up for bids. It's a second hand store find and has a crack from top to bottom(see pictures) but otherwise in good condition. It's believe it was painted by someone with the initials E S M on the back. It says, AETCO, The American Encaustic Tile Company. I did a little mini-research and discovered that this tile company was in business from 1877 to 1935. Looking at the detail, it seems like it's been actually painted by hand, but I'm no expert on hand painted art tiles. The starting bid is low and includes shipping PLEASE contact me and let me know if you know anything about the artist, my knowledge is scant on this. Tile measures 6 X 6" Frame measures 8 3/4" square Please see all pictures and ask all questions prior to bidding Thanks for browsing& happy bidding! AMERICAN ENCAUSTIC TILE (A.E.T.) Woman Overlooking River reddishbrown 6" x 6"
This 6" x6" A.E. tile has a scene of a woman on a hill overlooking a body of water that has a sailboat on it. There are a few minor chips at top edge center the rest of the tile is excellent condition. The reddish brown coloring is great and the glaze exhibits age cracking. The overall appearance of this tile is excellent. This is 1 of 2 tiles removed from a fireplace surround the other being a man overlooking a river which I have also listed for auction. The A. E. logo on the back of this tile is very prominent and says: A.E. Tiling Co. Limited. I have had this pair in my collection over 20 years and am selling due to health. SHIPPING PRICE INCLUDES FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE

AMERICAN ENCAUSTIC TILE (A.E.T.) Art Tile Man overlooking River reddish brown
Although unmarked or very lightly marked I have seen this tile many times stamped A.E.T. I have never seen this excellent color variant. This is 1 of 2 tiles that were removed from a fireplace surround the other being a woman overlooking a river which I am also listing for sell. The surface of this 6" X 6" tile is near mint with a very small chip at top center which appears to be under the glaze. The front also exhibits a crackle pattern in the glaze. The back still has a small portion covered with the grout used to hold it to the wall I have not attempted to remove it. This has been a centerpiece in my collection for over 20 years and am selling due to health reasons the pair together of the man and woman are excellent viewing. SHIPPING COST REFLECTS FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE.

American Encaustic Tile (A.E.T) K of C HHS 1921 ceramic green and gray
This is a approx 6" x 6" A. E. tile made in Zanesville. Althouggh discussed with many people over the years we are not 100% sure of what the letters stand for to the best of our knowledge we assume that the K of C stands for the Knights of Columbus and the HHS stands for Hancock High School which was located in Zanesville, Ohio There is a very small chip on the face at upper right hand corner and a little chipping on the under side edge(does not affect the surface) Back has excellent AETCO stamp and the number 32 on it. I would consider overall condition as excellent making a extrafine presentable appearance. SHIPPING COST REFLECT FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE
