Gorgeous Hand Painted Trent Ceramic Tile ~ Pink Roses
For your consideration is this gorgeous hand painted Trent ceramic tile. This has a wonderful hand painted rose pattern. Measures 6" long x 3" wide. There is only the very tiniest bit of paint wear(pictured) and a few very small flakes to the edge. A little darkening to the sides and a former owner has filled in the circles on the back. The square tile has a majolica glaze that I would describe as Army green and pale green accents. It has a fabulous rosette design. It is marked. Size: 4 5/16"d X 1/2"h approx. dimensions Quantity: 1- Tile Condition: GOOD- it is a reclaimed tile so it shows some wear. There is fine crazing all over. And a few shallow nicks/chips on the top edges. This tile is so much more beautiful than my photos show. I always pack items carefully and am happy to combine shipping. The decorative art tile is in mainly shades of olive green. The back of the tile is labeled with tape probably Cleveland Tile Company. Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire England- unmarked but Cleveland back style- c. 1903- 1905. This early tile would make a great addition to an antique tile collection. Size: 6" by 6" 3/8" Thick. Condition: Good to Very Good- There are no cracks or repairs to the tiles front surfaces. I am offering on Buy It Now an antique tile from Mintons China Works. This very rare find from circa 1875 consists of a cobalt and white tile from the Mohr Smith Industrial Series from Stoke on Trent. England. The tile measures 6" X 6" and 1/2" thick. This tile depicts a Tanner and his helper at work a a hide with a brick wall background. He looks like a strong layman working at his trade. The scene is very detailed and there is old English writing saying The Tanner. I have noted that this rare tile is in very good condition with minimal wear as seen in the pictures. This tile is marked on the back and has slight cement residue from use. I am selling several other tiles from this same series in varying condition. 6" Blue Art Tile by Trent depicting a boy holding a bird. The translucent glaze highlights the details. Especially the fabric patterns in the hat and clothes. The surface of the tile is in excellent condition with the usual light crazing. There are small nicks at the corners and some small nicks at the edges. Offered for bifd is an English tile made by Minton The tile is in good condition There is no damage to the top glazed portion of the tile There are a few minor flakes along the bottom edge which cannot be seen when it is lying flat. The tile is 4 1/4" square It is sort of olive drab green and has what I believe to be a sunflower in the middle of the piece. Listed without a reserve is a nice. And I believe rare, portrait tile made by C Pardee works Perth Amboy NJ. The tile measures just under 4 1/2 inches edge to edge. There is a small chip in the upper right corner that would easily be hidden by any frame. There is some crazing to the glaze and what appears to be a glaze bubble that broke and a small mark(small nip) in the glaze to the left of the nose. Selling a beautiful Minton's China Works. Stoke on Trent tile of the"Old Hancock House" of Boston, Mass. This is a transfer tile with John Hancock's former home, John Hancock was a former governor of Mass. The house itself was erected in 1737 and demolished in 1863 to make way for a new wing of the State House. The back of the tile is marked Minton China Works with their logo indicating Stoke Upon Trent, Walbrook, London.The blue marking reads"Published By Macullar Parker Company. This tile was one of a pair of tiles produced around 1895. the other being the"Boston State House 1818" exclusively made for and distributed for the Macullar Parker Co as souvenirs for visitors to Boston. This tile is 6" x 6" and it is 1" thick. It has round pieces of cork adhered to it. I am guessing it was used as a trivet at home point. Please view the photos to determine condition for yourself. It remains sturdy and strong. It is also heavy! Minton& Co c.1828- 1868 commercial production from circa 1835. Tile making managed by partner Michael Daintry Hollins from 1840 onwards whence the brand name. Minton, Hollins, Co. was adopted. Michael Hollins is recorded as working in the factory from at least 1838. 5] Minton Hollins& Co. And Minton& Co brands were used on tiles contemporaneously in the nineteenth century, catalogues, letterheads and advertising wares show Minton& Co in conjunction with Minton Hollins& Co as late as 1912. Wonderful early Mintons tile with young woman carrying a jug over her shoulder. This brown transferwere tile is in great shape! There are no discoloration problems. The color is vivid throughout the tile, sorry about the glare on a few of the photos, the glazing is in excellent condition) There is extremely minor wear to the very edge of the tile on the upper left side, but you really have to look close to notice it at all, it may have been there in the making. Very 3-dimensional and the crazing adds character. Nice detailing in her scarf and dress. Glaze colors are shades of brown, teal/green and beige. Antique Trent Tile Company Signed Tile Concentric Circles in Relief Framed
Up for bid is a lovely embossed relief ceramic tile made by the Trent Tile Company. The tile itself measures 6 1/8" x 6 1/8. It has been professionally framed. But can easily be removed or unbracketed. Together with frame, it measures 8 5/8" x 8 5/8. The back is signed"TRENT" in embossed letters. The Trent Tile Company was founded in Trenton. NJ is 1882 and made decorative embossed tiles in a variety of rich glaze colors until 1939. FRONT CONDITION: The front of the tile is in great condition considering it's age and has a nice. Allover crazing. There's a bit of surface wear on a few of the raised dots of the center circle, but these are barely noticeable. There are also some small chips along the edge of the tile, but these are covered up by the lip of the frame. The only one that is not covered up is a tiny nick ... moreon the edge of one of the circles, but since it is close to the edge of the frame, it'd hardly noticeable. Please view images CAREFULLY. BACK CONDITION: The back is also in great condition. Except for a small chip on the edge of one of the corners. This chip impacts one of the back corners and sides, and not the front of the tile. At one time it was mounted because there's a bit of grout residue on the back. I have posted images of the tile in and out of it's frame to show all surfaces of the tile. Selling a small. Artist signed Trent tile in a wood frame. Trent Tile was located in Trenton, New Jersey in the 1890s. The tile itself is 3 1/4" x 6" The wood frame is 6" x 8 1/2" The scene on the tile is of a sail boat with a house in the background. The signature I think is"Wood" and the date of the signature is 1913. The tape backing of the tile has come loose. It still has a seal from Woodward and Lothrop. Woodies was a major store in Washington, DC that is no longer in business. The tile is in good condition. The wood frame needs a little restoration. Ceramic tile TRENT Victorian Profile of a Young Girl greenish yellow 1882-1939
Beautiful tile 2 3/4" in diameter of a young girl in profile. With a kerchief on her hair. There is a notch(not a chip) on the bottom- I think that is for ease in setting the tile. I have seen the exact, same tile for $150.00 elsewhere on eBay. As mentioned. This tile does have crazing. This manufacturer was located in Trenton New Jersey. If you have any questions.
